Eco-Elements

I was looking for an autism-​friendly metaphysical store. There is a review for Zenith Supplies in which an autistic customer was called «aggressive» by the cashier, so I decided to try this store instead. The cashier at Eco Elements was very nice.
Since April is autism awareness month, I’ll go ahead and say a little more. Autism is a social «disorder»; you cannot tell by looking at someone if they are autistic or not. Autism is not new and it is not something that only children have. It also has nothing to do with IQ.
Shopping can be stressful for us. We may avoid eye contact or look away often. We may act awkward or even suspicious. It can take us longer to browse and compare merchandise, and we usually prefer to do it ourselves. Sometimes we may seem lost or confused when we are simply thinking. We may not be able to respond to small talk.
When people interact with us, they may get a vague feeling that something is «off». They may misinterpret our mannerisms or attempts at communications. Our inability to understand non-​literal language is sometimes misunderstood as an intellectual disability, and people treat us condescending.
When we find a «safe» merchant we tend to be loyal customers. Hopefully awareness spreads. Thanks for reading.

I really love this place. Whenever I feel like I need to be grounded I come here. I’ve been coming here for 15 years. I get a reading every 2 – 3 years just to get validation or answers to questions. Highly recommend a reading if you need some understanding of your life. I send all my friends here. Great medication books and candles too. See you soon! :)

This is a wonderful small store with a wide variety of free trade items. The owner was extremely polite and very helpful. The prices are more than fair considering they are in downtown Seattle and all the items are free trade

Nice little shiop to pick up some witch supplies for cleansing. Sage and Palo Santo cleansing spray available here. Also a small collection of metaphysical books and divination decks. Customer service was excellent. Will return on any future visits.

Visiting Seattle for the first time, this store was so warm and welcoming. Smelled so good also, they were so kind to let me take pictures for Unilocal.My friend and I looked around for some time, we never felt rushed or like we were taking up too much of their time. On the contrary they were very informative and friendly. I bought a few things and they were nice enough to hold it for me till my friend and I had lunch. We were walking everywhere and I didn’t want my things to get wet so they offered to hold them for me to come back. Way to go above and beyond. I can’t compliment the customer service enough.

I great little spot for the spiritually inclined. Lots of options in the choices of encense and other random greats. They also do readings, which is a cool tidbit. Lots of variety in spiritual books and tarot cards.

Very good service. The people who work there are very polite and helpful. They have a wide selection of incense and candles as well as books for many different types of religions. Great place to check out!

I have been frequenting Eco Elements for many years, and, by far, this is one of my absolute favorite shops located in the Downtown, Seattle area. Very friendly staff, beautiful items, held in shop, and dope music/​beats to chill to as you browse the shop.
This store is one of the reasons I became a self-​taught DJ/​composer!
All and all, excellent.

I am into a lot of alternative and new age things, therefore, it’s not surprised that I found this place during the last Seattle trip with my best friend during Bumbershoot weekend. I found a book that I had been eying for some time cheaper here than at home. I was recently reminded of this when my girlfriend and I came down there for a show. My last visit was around the same time as Josh, however, the manager was not there and I had a very sweet and awesome lady that I dealt with. She was amazing, sweet and friendly. I hope that the stories of her manager are false ’cause no one as sweet as her deserved the treatment. This was one of the few new age stores that was within walking distance of the hostel my best friend and I were staying out. I bought some healing crystals for my mom.

Friendly and great ambiance. Found by accident and the sales person recommended the book I picked up to browse and said they just got it in there. Agree with Kelvin R.‘s review totally.
BTW, the book is called «Nothing Changes Until You do» by Mike Robbins and just skimming through it now, it’s powerful stuff. This place is well worth checking out if you get the same salesperson that helped me out. It is local and unique. They guy even offered me a free incense after I bought the book!

I’ve checked this place out a couple times and it’s been a letdown. Basically a tourist’s curio shop, with prices only a tourist would pay.
The folks usually working there are pretty classic new age «I can see your drawn to that item, insert pitch here’».
Otherwise the selection runs the gamut from Bhuddism, Zen, to Wicca like a «multi denominational» occult/​import souvenir shop. Nothing too specific.
More of a «general store» than supply store.
Tourists, have at it.
Locals Looking for supplies probably know of an alternative.

Will definitely be back here! Though it’s a bit tight in here, they have a massive supply of incense and spiritual books, jewelry, crystals, and you can even get a psychic reading! I didn’t get the time to thoroughly look at everything, even though it’s a small shop, there’s A LOT to take in! I can see myself visiting here often.

I’m new in town, and I recently discovered Eco-​Elements while looking for a locally-​owned company that stocked my favorite kind of incense.
Eco-​elements is really a gem of a place. Although small, the interior is absolutely packed — wall to wall — with all sorts of beautiful merchandise. Their crystal selection was absolutely stunning, and I saw types of gems that I’d never heard of before. Tarot cards, a whole wall of incense and burners, smudge sticks, and lots of books.
Unfortunately, I still have to give this place two stars, because of my experience while I was there. One star is for carrying the incense, the other is for carrying a great selection of other products.
Eco-​elements also had a «NOW HIRING» sign taped to their front window. I’m always looking for a better opportunity than what I have, so I took the time to ask. Rebecca, who was working the counter, was a complete doll for the whole experience — and her other coworker was quite a fantastic worker, too. They both deserved a better supervisor.
I’m not sure of the name of the woman who was actually in charge of hiring, but she’s a completely despicable representation of customer service. Both women were behind the counter while I was checking out, and I could only introduce myself to one of them because the owner was so preoccupied with mailing some merchandise. After suffering through my apparently torturous inquiry about possible employment, she snapped that she didn’t know much about the hours she had available for such a position. Although she didn’t seem quite as warm and fuzzy as I’d expected in a shop devoted to so many positive wavelengths, I still probed her with conversation. She snapped the same words to me, about not knowing what she had available, and I couldn’t help but wonder why on earth she had a sign posted if she was so bothered by potential new hires.
Upon leaving, I realized how assertive she’d been to her two peons — the male and the female who were actually doing their job, conversing with customers and patrolling the sales floor. She barked at them the whole time I was there, snapping that they need to light incense and such. Those poor people, they were right on her heels and you could tell that they jumped every time she raised her voice. That’s no way to conduct business.
I strongly discourage anyone from supporting this bigoted misrepresentation of such a peaceful way of life — clearly the owner has no concept of what it means to be a good person, how to treat employees, or even how to be grateful to the customers who are supporting her business. Next time I need Nag Champa, I’ll get it from a store right inside the market — where I was anyway, before I went out of my way to find a new place to shop.
Sorry, Rebecca! You seemed like you’d be a fantastic co-​worker, and you’re the reason I wanted to apply. I hope you get a fabulous new job soon, where nobody will yell at you all day. You’re sweet and you deserve it!

Awesome Store! I was there visiting relatives and we were downtown at the market and ran across the shop. Excellent place for metaphysical items!

I smelled some fantastic incense coming off the bus and had to stop inside to take a look around. Really good selection of fragrances and beautiful burners! The staff is really nice and there are lots of trinkets, stones and other «new age» stuff. I definitely will stop by here again when I’m not dragging someone along with me. I’m sure I could spend a few hours in here.

This is yet another store in Seattle that I stumbled upon «by accident.» I had just left the Pike Place Market and was walking around Seattle when I found it, conveniently located within walking distance from the Pike Place Market (just up the street, actually). This store has a lot to offer for such a small place. The first thing I always notice in places like these is the extremely friendly and welcoming staff, and this place definitely had just that. They are there actively interacting with the customers, making sure they can find everything alright and answering questions to the best of their knowledge. The store itself has a variety of merchandise such as: crystals and gemstones of all sizes, crystal healing wands, tibetan singing bowls, pendants, oils, little smudge sticks, candles, pre-​blessed candles charged with a particular intent, tarot card decks with open samples for display, oracle card decks, pouches for storing card decks, a wide array of books covering the topics that you would expect to see at a new age store, and they even sell clothes! They also have psychic readers available.
Being that the name of the store is Eco Elements, you’d expect that they have some kind of connection to the environment, and they indeed have just that. There is a rack of pamphlets and ads about a variety of eco-​friendly things to the right as soon as you enter the store, and at the counter is an ad for a movie called The Cove (watch it, you’ll never eat dolphin again). All in all, this was an excellent store and my shopping experience here is always a great one.

Good spot for incense, and most things New Age.

When a retailer supports the local community, I find myself wanting to support that retailer with my business. Eco-​Elements does just that and hands out a healthy dose of conservationism to the hundreds of tourists who wander around up to 1^st Ave from Pike Place Market. When I walk into the store and inhale the myriad of scents, the stress drops off my shoulders and the desire to sign a petition grows strong.
