Superfuzz blood orange pale ale and fish tacos! Can’t get much better than that! The staff is very friendly and cool, helpful, but not pushy. I will be back here! The stranger manger was excellent as well!

Clay was an amazing waiter. He was super friendly and welcoming and gave us a ton of recommendations for things to do in the city since we were only there for the day. He was very attentive and had great knowledge of all the beers on tap, making sure we each got one we liked. Would definitely recommend to anyone visiting. Ask for Clay!

Loved this place. Stopped in for dinner. Their beer is very good, I had their specialty flight. House cocktails were also very good and refreshing. They come in pint glasses which was very nice instead of a short bucket glass. We ordered the BBQ tofu with sweet potato fries and also the Mac and cheese. First I’ve never had apple wood smoked tofu… I think it was the most amazing flavorful sandwich ever. The Mac and cheese was to die for, Gruyère is my favorite cheese so I was sold. Staff were very friendly as well as the locals we chatted with inside. Might try to stop in again before we leave town.

I really liked the aesthetics of the place! Beer was great, food was great, but the service could be a lot better. Our server only checked in with us after we had asked for the check. Tip to the servers: Don’t judge people by their looks. That is the type of mentality that won’t get you your tip. I tip solely based on service, so if you give shitty service, you should except a shitty tip. I wanted to give more than 3 stars, but the service we received doesn’t deserve those two extra stars. 5⁄5 for food and beer though

This was the first place I stopped directly after my arrival to Seattle. Everyone I asked about the beer scene of Seattle told me to check out one of the Elysian Breweries. The place was pretty empty on a Thursday afternoon, but there was a big private event in the back so I couldn’t check out the brewery through their viewing windows. The bar had about of their rotating taps and a full bar. The Space Dust IPA was definitely my favorite of the three I tasted. I really wanted to try their Dragonstooth Oatmeal Stout but the waitress said a few of their beers were«substituted» with other beers already on the menu. So they were just tapped out of a couple, one of which I wanted to try. I blame myself for trying one of their specialty beers — The Avatar Jasmine IPA. The Jasmine was very upfront, more than I expected, and masked most of the hoppy pine flavor from the Northern Brewer. And Seattle-natives might resent me for saying, but the Immortal IPA wasn’t anything I’d be missing down in California. During happy hour, the Oasis plate seems like a mediocre hummus and pita plate with a could olives thrown in the middle for decoration. It looks nothing like it does, if you order it outside of happy hour. The crab cakes were something to snack on while having a beer. Come for the beer, not the food.

Super bummed about this place. Out of the alcohol we wanted, the place was dead, and the bartenders didn’t seem too thrilled to be serving my friend and I. Lots of other better places to try out if you’re looking for selection and better service.

We stopped into Elysian while in Seattle for some late lunch and of course beer! Gotta give them kudos for being in the gayborhood, and I totally loved the pride flag in the brewing room! It was in the early afternoon, and we had a dinner reservation, so we decided to split a falafel sandwich for a snack(which I don’t see on the current online menu?). I’m not sure if this is a Northwest thing, or a Seattle thing or just an Elysian thing, but they actually split it for us on 2 different plates for us, as opposed to here in NY where they either charge you or just give you a plate to do it yourself. The sandwich was absolutely amazing. The falafel was excellent, with pickled vegetables between pita slices. We got it with a side of delicious sweet potato fries… Yum! As for beer, the fiancé got a flight as always. I got the Hawaiian Sunburn. I didn’t get really much habanero spice from it, but the pineapple and sour were definitely there, and I really enjoyed it! It was very refreshing on a warm spring day. We ended up being there as it turned into happy hour, so I of course had to get a second beer for the discount. They had a strawberry kiwi gose on draft. I love gose beers, and this was no exception. The downside to the whole meal was that there was only like one waiter for the whole place, so service was super, super slow.

I came here with friends and found myself freezing. Service was good(our waitress was rally nice and had some great recommendations), the food was okay(I had a cheeseburger with fries), my company enjoyed their beer. So far so good, but not the right place for me I have to admit. The design didn’t catch my eye, for me it was too bright, too open, too cold, too anonymous and meaningless… so not comfy enough for me to be willing to stay longer than necessary.

The BBQ cauliflower was out of this WORLD! Tasted exactly like BBQ wings. Jalapeño Mac and cheese is hot but the heat stays mild and lingers in your mouth, not spreading like wildfire. Extremely balanced and worth getting again. Had their vegan soup de jour which was somewhat spicy but good. Space Dust was touted by the waiter as the best beer brewed in the history of mankind. While I couldn’t go that far it was a very balanced and lovely IPA. Boom smells amazing. I was joking how I’d love to get a room freshener of it. Very lovely beer. Breakbeat was floral and fabulous Hawaiian Sunburn was definitely NOT a sour, extremely light almost like you’re drinking air. Perfect after playing a round of golf or mowing and lawn Dragonstooth stout was well balanced with a hint of chocolate And our waiter was über cool! He even comped my beer when it took a while to get it to me. Definitely returning when I’m back in town.

Brilliant experience! We came here around 6ish on a Saturday evening with a party of 6 and were able to get seated almost immediately. The menu has vegan and gluten free options for anyone with dietary restrictions, and the drinks on tap are amazing(according to my colleagues who ordered them). Our server was the greatest and he provided tons of recommendations for us, seeing as we were visiting from out of town and don’t often get the opportunity to have the delicious dishes that they offered. The food was so, so, SO good! I’m tempted to drive back down for it. Heads up: they may also employ ninjas there. A number of times I would glance down and my water would be filled or my dish would’ve been taken and I didn’t even notice it happening. Talk about awesome.

Love this place. Their beer is always so, so good. You should go for a flight if you’ve never been. The Space Dust IPA and Loser Pale Ale are some of the best I’ve had though. The food is awesome too. Definitely try the fry appetizers or any of the burgers. Service was fine and the location in Cap Hill is prime. Don’t believe the haters!

I went here with a friend to watch the game last night. We ordered drinks they were fine but when we ordered the nachos they came back literally looking like someone just put cheese on tortilla chips and put them in the microwave. Then my friend tried to order two different things and they said they didn’t have either of them. The waiter didn’t know the menu at all(maybe they got a new menu oh well) but bottom line is they didn’t have any of the drinks we wanted or the food we wanted. So we chose to leave and finish the game somewhere else.

While in town for a few days we wanted to check out this brewery. Got a flight. I LOVED the avatar beer. I’m not a beer fan but this one was a mix of jasmine tea and beer and I’m still thinking about it weeks later. The place had cool décor, seemed more like a dinner spot then bar and the food from the other tables looked good. Our bartender was amazing, told us the history about the brewery and a little bit about each beer. Based on location, price, staff and beer selection I’d definitely recommend this place.

A pretty mediocre experience overall, but we came to try some beers out since we were in the city, so in that aspect, it was decent. The bar was packed when we came, but managed to steal 2 seats at the far end of the bar. Service left much to be desired, since each exchange between the bartender and his guests seemed pretty cold. They do flights, thankfully, so you get your pick of 5. Everything was standard across the board. Nothing was really spectacular, and nothing was really intolerable. Space Dust is probably our most-liked Elysian beer, but we had that elsewhere so it wasn’t apart of the flight we ordered. Overall though, I’d probably skip Elysian if you’re in Seattle for beer. There’s better to be had elsewhere that isn’t as commercialized. It reminds me of Maritime Pacific but not as inviting, or a BJ’s Restaurant even.

I am rather disappointed with the Elysian. I have been here several times and I think I may have come in on a off day. The waiter was rude when we asked to be move to another table because I didn’t want to listen to the child crying next to us. And then we are confronted by another member of the wait staff when we did move tables. After three strikes, we paid for our coffee(which I did not order but got attitude and I did not get the receipt that I asked for) and went somewhere else for dinner. I’m really sorry that you were bought by Big Brother Beer, because your service has gone downhill ever since.

Elysian was bomb diggity on a random weekday afternoon. The Avatar Jasmine Green Tea IPA is by hands down one of the tastiest and unique beers I’ve had in the last year. The food was, like others have voiced, average bar food(nothing like the deliciousness served up by Ballast Point or Ommegang). Still — sad that Elysian has been bought out by AB. Glad I came here before the takeover.

I usually drink beer that’s brewed the easy way. Since I was visiting Seattle, I wanted to try something that’s brewed the hard way. I wasn’t sure which Elysian we would wind up at. While walking around, I had to double check we were indeed at the Capitol Hill location since this place looks more like a bar than a taproom inside. This place is massive for a brewery’s taproom. It’s more bar and grill than brewery. Dark, cavernous, empty feeling. My honey and I grabbed a seat near the bar to order a sampler. There isn’t a set sampler. You are free to choose and pay for whichever ones you want. It arrives on a 5 slot Elysian branded wooden sample tray. I really wanted to try the Dragonstooth Stout but they were out. I settled on a few samplers that piqued my interest. Mostly IPAs because I had heard good things about their hoppy stuff. The Breakbeat IPA was decent. A little bitter but not in the way I expect an IPA to be. Not bad. Elysian of Boom was one of several Seahawks bandwagon themed beers that I tried while in Seattle. I’m sure nobody was brewing these beers a few years ago when the Seahawks were NFL bottom feeders. Either way, this IPA was a pass for me. Spacedust IPA was my favorite of the IPAs that I tried. It’s strong and hoppy beer that shows you why Bud ponied up the big bucks to acquire them. Since it was still pumpkin beer season, I ordered the Night Owl and Dark o’ The Moon. These were easily the best beers I tried. Too bad they didn’t have that Pumpkin Peach Ale on tap… Their pumpkin brews helped elevate them above a two star rating. Certainly try this if you ever get the chance. Overall, their beer is just okay to me. The taproom itself is what I have a problem with. I don’t ever see myself wanting to sample beer in this type of environment. I would rather just get their pumpkin beers to go.

All I can say is that the ownership should cut the management fat here… The managers name was Derek Nathan and he was a waste of space. He was drinking with his friends on the side of the bar until my young kids made some noise and then he came over and chastised us over a some noise that the other guests around us seemed not to notice. This guy is perfect for not growing your business. If you want someone good, let me know. I know plenty of motivated professionals that would happily do a better job.

1. You know, I had low expectations for this place because of its reviews. 2. Showed up here with my friend after her flight from LA around 10 pm. No one was around so it easy to get seated. My friend and I were so thrilled we didnt have to stand around and wait for a table because we were starving. 3. Had a veggie pannini and the poutine. Panini was good… the poutine. i’m not sure how traditional it was to the poutine i’ve had… but it still had good flavor and i would order it again. 4. Ordered a jasmine IPA. was pleasantly surprised that i liked it. Usually i like stouts and porters and they were all out. 5. Nice place to grab food and beer with a friend, not overly hyped, just a chill friday night kinda place.

My friend came in town to drop a load in his semi truck. And wanted to know where we could go. I grabbed him in Kent and off to Cap hill we went. I Love Elysian Brewing. He ordered a Salad with chicken that looked great. I stuck to my beer. The beer list doesnt disappoint. I tried a Sample of the Pumpkin beer. It was good and tasted like Pumpkin Pie. Not sure if I would order a pint but it was tasty. My friend ordered a flight of beer while I stuck with my Mens room red. The Customer Service here doesnt disappoint and they play music, loud enough to hear it, but low enough that you can still have a conversation.

Elysian makes one of my favorite pumpkin beers so I was excited to try the brew pub when my husband and I came out to the West Coast. We started with the spinach artichoke dip which was really good but I didn’t want to spoil my dinner. We also ordered some beers, I don’t really like how they have set samplers– you can’t pick whichever beers you want; you either pick this sampler which has these 5 beers, or this other one where you get these 5. You can’t mix and match or even get sample sizes of certain beers. On both samplers we had had a fair amount of them so we ended up getting two pints first of stuff we hadn’t had before sharing the one sampler we had had the least amount of beers from before. I ordered the steak frites with the thin fries instead of wedges and this was a great substitution. The thin fries were addicting. There were so many though, I couldn’t finish them. My steak came how I asked for it(rare) so that was good but overall it wasn’t anything special, I mean, you’re not at a fancy steakhouse so for what you get for the money it was perfectly fine. Our server was friendly but the table we were at didn’t seem to the be cleanest, it was a bit of a sticky mess from the moment we sat down, I probably should have said something. Overall it was a solid spot and the food we had was decent but the beers were not quite exciting enough for me.

I’ve been here a number of times with friends. The food is pretty standard, expected, but often satisfying enough. The fact that they have lots of Elysian beers on tap probably is the most desirable element of this place. It looks a little grungy inside. Doesn’t quite feel intentionally designed to be that way, maybe a little lazy. I don’t mind so much. The space just feels a little ‘empty’ somehow. Usually this place has been the ‘alternative’ to other places that are overpriced or crowded.

This review is long overdue. Elysian used to be a tolerable pub but they are currently at an all time low. They have been recently sold(out) to Anheuser-Busch and it won’t be long before elysian beer will be in the league of Budweiser. But their food has caught up to that standard even faster. During my recent visit with several friends every other food item we ordered was basically inedible. Specifically the pork sliders where the pork was a weird mush of ingredients that had the texture of puke. The seared Ahi tuna was overcooked and tasted rubbery.

This place has one of the best happy hours in the city, $ 4 or $ 4.50 for beers with a bunch of mini-meals for $ 5 on the happy hour menu. Happy hour is 4 – 6 most days I’m 80% sure. Elysian makes some good beers but it’s not my favorite and on beer alone I would give a 4* but the Brewpub is set up so well this place gets a 5*.

I was pretty bummed with this place. I keep seeing it on lists of places you have to stop at and have beer and as beer lover I was excited to have a drink and Grab a bite. The beer was just fine, but the poutine wasn’t good at all, and the nachos were equal or lesser in quality. These guys may have other good food but I’d stay away from those two options. I’d probably stop in when in Seattle again, but make sure I eat before.

Arghhh what to review this great brewery after it was purchased by Bud’s parent company who then had the nerve to poke fun at craft beer fans during the Super Bowl. So they now own one of Seattle’s great local breweries and hate those who like the product. Brilliant. Anyway, that shouldn’t impact on visiting the bar should it? Well it does a little. And that’s not the bar’s fault. The staff are the ‘hipsters’ that Bud now poke fun at. But, thankfully, they and their bar retain an interesting individuality that separates them from their nasty owners. The beer, is still great. But doesn’t it just suck that you’re ultimately drinking a Bud product? Not that that’s the staff’s fault. They’re a really nice bunch. Great bar. Great staff. Great CRAFT beer. Shame about the elephant in the room.

The food here is decent, although nothing to write home about, and in any case it’s all about the beers on tap. There’s a lot to choose from, and you can sample many of them at once with a tasting platter. The facility itself is large and can hold hundreds of people. The tap assembly itself is massive and something to marvel — you’d think it was actually part of the HVAC system. There’s also a view of the brewing operations off to the side, although when I was there it didn’t appear that tours were offered with any regular consistency. Still, this particular Elysian location is one of several craft breweries worth checking out if you live in or are visiting the Seattle area.
