Food’s great. The service sucks big time. You’d think the service administrator(server/waitress) would be nice considering I took my PARENTS there. She was absolutely rude. Downright disrespectful.

Flew into Seattle the night before a business meeting. Walked down to Pikes Market area for a 6PM dinner. This resturant was amazing. Great space, fantastic bar, pleasent service. The oysters were super and the salmon with their special rub is really special. I would recommend to all and I will be back!

My husband and I walked in for brunch yesterday(Sunday, Jan 24) and were seated right away. Got a nice table right by the windows. However, we were totally ignored for about 15 minutes(not a ‘hello’ or ‘sorry, I’ll be right with you’) so we stood up ready to walk out when our server(Paris) finally decided to notice us. We both ordered the Mimosa(which took another 15min to get) and then my husband had the Etta’s Breakfast while I was happy to just order 2 poached eggs with toast. The food was nothing special and way over-priced! My husband’s home-fries looked and tasted like they just came out of a frozen package and the bacon was not cooked enough. Ugh! My 2 poached eggs were ok(but perhaps one would think to add a sprig of garnish???) and I had to remind our waiter about my toast. Overall, it was not a good experience and we will not be coming back.

Came here for a Sunday brunch and had a really great meal. My wife ordered the crab benedict and it was bliss. The crab tasted like it had been lightly sauteed in butter and was very fresh. The hollandaise sauce was some of the best we’ve had in a restaurant. I ordered their burger and asked to substitute the chowder for the fries. The waiter seemed taken aback at first saying that they didn’t do that, but being a Tom Douglas restaurant he quickly realized that they would do it, even with a small upcharge and everything came out perfect. The burger, while thick, didn’t feel heavy. Instead of pickles it had pickled green tomatoes, a nice change, but it still added a zest to it that made it delicious. The chowder was thick, and filled with clams and topped with a bacon remoulade that added a nice salty crunch. The only downgrade is for the price. You’re paying for the location and everything seemed to be a couple dollars more than it was actually worth. A burger for almost $ 20 seems like an awful lot, even for such a well prepared one. The market bloody mary at $ 12 was particularly steep since it came in a smaller highball glass instead of the typical pint glass. It was very good with a mix of horseradish and a tasty garnish of beecher’s cheese and landjager from the market, but I don’t think I’d pay that much again. All in all, if you’re looking for a bit classier brunch, and don’t mind spending a little bit more for it, this is a great option here in Seattle. I won’t make this a regular stop, but now and again it is definitely worth it!

Some of the best food I’ve had in Seattle. Chowder is on par with the Pike Place chowder, spinach salad was perfect and the salmon could not have been cooked better. Not sure how this place has 3 ½ stars, must have had some off days, should be closer to 4 ½ or 5. A tad but on the expensive side, but foodies should appreciate what this place has accomplished. Overall, one of the best dining experiences I’ve had in Seattle.

Very nice and scenic Tom Douglas restaurant. I came here for brunch and had an excellent time. I got the pike place bloody to start and the cheese sausage garnish was excellent. I got the crab eggs Benedict and while the hollandaise sauce was out of this world there was barely any crab. For $ 23 I would have expected more crab but judging on taste alone the dish was awesome. The bacon fat home fries was also fantastic. My girlfriend got the corned beef hash which had a habanero ketchup which I would buy on its own if they sold it. The corned beef has was amazing in every way. I will definitely be back to check out more dishes and I would recommend checking it out when in the area and when you have some cash to spare as its not cheap.

Holy Foodie Heaven! Perfect service. I’ll just note what I wrote on my comment card: Best Meal that we’ve had in YEARS… Tom, please please please open a restaurant in Reno! Amazing service! John is an amazing server! Give him a promotion. I’m serious. We’ll be back and will blab about the amazing-ness to all of our friends and all over social media.

We randomly chose this restaurant for our stay in Seattle on my birthday! It was the best choice we made! Great local food for adults and a good children’s menu, too. Would highly recommend this place to anyone. Real close to Pike place:))

Restaurants like this are why I just sit and savor the moment every time I’m lucky enough to return to Seattle. I can’t get food like this in Las Vegas. My husband and I had lunch here on a Friday afternoon and didn’t have to wait too long for a table. The restaurant was busy, but our waitress was friendly and quick with getting our orders going and out to us. I had the Etta’s «Rub With Love» Salmon. This is served with green beans and their amazing cornbread pudding with some shitake mushrooms for good measure. The rub and preparation of the salmon was right on point. Every bite made me shut my eyes and just savor the moment. Every bite from start to finish was amazing. My husband had the whitefish special that came with a vegetable succotash. This was just as amazing as my dish. As expected all of the ingredients were very fresh and perfectly prepared. Food that really speaks for itself. The location is a short walk from the main entrance of Pike’s Market and definitely worth a visit.

Oh Etta’s! How I miss the savory taste of your seafood stew. The broth has this outstanding Thai curry flavor to it. And it is filled to the brim with seafood. It sits on top of a scoop of rice. Clams, mussels, rock shrimp, crab, fish, salmon, and all very generous helpings. I had the whole bowl to myself, but could have easily split it with someone. Oh, and you must have the spicy chili jam that comes on the side. The spicy sweet flavor goes perfectly. And they have basil and mint on the side, that you can tear into smaller pieces and add to your stew. Did I mention, I had this on my second visit to Seattle? The first time I had it, I was with a larger party and we passed it around, with everyone getting a scoop of it. I sampled other dishes that day too, as we ordered multiple dishes and passed plates. This review is from my return visit. When the plane landed in Seattle for this second time, I knew my first night needed to include this dinner. Yes! I had it all to myself. If my stomach could talk, it would tell me «Thank you for the seafood stew. I hope I see more when we come back to Seattle.» And I would reply«You don’t even need to ask. It’s a deal.»

I couldn’t wait to dine at Etta’s! We were referred here by family members that live in Seattle. Their recommendation did not disappoint. Etta’s is conveniently located about a block away from Pike Place Market. This was perfect for us, as we were doing most of our sight seeing in that area. We were able to walk to right to Etta’s! The restaurant is beautiful. I loved the decorations and the laid back atmosphere. We were greeted instantly and seated right away. We ordered a Dungeness crab to split. This was my first time trying it. I was apprehensive to eat it but I’m so glad I did! It was extremely tasty! I would definitely order it again. We also both got a fish fry, which was absolutely amazing. It was served with a side of cole slaw, that was the best cole slaw I’ve ever tasted. I don’t know what they do to it but it’s truthfully delicious cole slaw. I want some right now. Our service was perfect at Etta’s. The view is lovely. If you sit by the windows you get a great view of Seattle. It’s also a perfect location for people watching. We enjoyed our entire meal here. I referred another Buffalo friend here afterwards and she also loved it!

Solid spot — on the pricey side but we came for restaurant week. Service was attentive and friendly, I liked my spicy cocktail, and the coconut cream pie was to die for(24 hours later, I’m still full). Good spot for a date or nice dinner with family. No pounding music, nice«grown-up» atmosphere.

For this being a Tom Douglas restaurant, i was very disappointed. Dined here for the first time during restaurant week with a few people. We all got something different so we can sample a little of everything. The food was average. Nothing to rave about. I have a sweet tooth and love dessert. Everything looked good but didn’t meet my expectations. The coconut was good. I can’t say the same about the other desserts. I understand that the place is busy, but that’s not excuse for not checking in on your table.

— overall rating: 2.5 — ordered the baby lettuce salad w/7 oz salmon — the salad alone was a very small portion for $ 12+(adding salmon was a whopping $ 20 extra on my bill, which would’ve been nice for the waitress to mention before placing my order, I’ve never added protein to my salad be more than $ 10 extra) — I enjoyed my salad(simple as it was) but my salmon was overcooked, and wasn’t a fan of their«famous» rub — my lunch companion ordered tea, which we had to ask for several times, and when we finally received the tea, it came without sugar or a spoon)

Came only for the coconut pie. After hearing so much about it I was a little disappointed b/c it was mostly an overly heavy whip cream. I’ll try it again… sometime. The location is pleasant with outdoor seating + booths inside. Good views of the market(which can be good or bad). Service was good, they checked on us frequently(even knowing we only wanted pie). Would’ve liked to see a dinner menu but other peoples food looked good.

Delicious Dungeness crab cakes and hearty Northwest Seafood Stew with chunks of salmon, clams, mussels, shrimp, crab and a coconut broth — this Tom Douglas restaurant is a must for anyone craving Northwest seafood! Conveniently located near the Pike’s Place Market, this restaurant offers an array of delicious seafood. The service was phenomenal! Our waitress provided some great recommendations and descriptions of each dish when they arrived, gave us an overview of the microbrew list, and was friendly and very polite. While a bit pricey, this is a great place for seafood and sampling one of Seattle’s most recognized Chefs.

We started with a drink in the bar and some oysters on the half shell. The bartender was very knowledgeable and friendly. Oysters were fresh but on the small side. For dinner we chose the specialty«Rub With Love» salmon and the crab cake entrée with 2 cakes and shared. Both we absolutely delicious and worked well for sharing. This is a Tom Douglas restaurant and he is well known in Seattle. We now know why.

Five stars for the service from our amazing waiter John. His recommendation were spot on and his enthusiasm for the dishes even more wonderful. I had the steak well done. Really enjoyed it. Had a wonderful light yet filling taste to it. My friend ordered the homemade pasta and she said it was spectacular. For dessert we had the Kentucky bourbon cake. It really hit the spot, tangy and sweet with the peaches. Side note, John was extremely knowledgeable, personable, gave us the utmost care. We really appreciated it. Thank you.

I really enjoyed my meal at Etta’s. I thought the menu was very impressive. I ordered crab cakes, a sweet pea & brown butter gnocchi, and triple coconut cream cake. All three dishes were very good. My cousin got a fish fry and carrot cake. She absolutely loved it! I liked that Etta’s had a more casual/relaxing atmosphere. It was very clean and beautifully decorated.

Etta’s was one of the stops on the Savor Seattle tour. This review is based solely on the only thing I have ever eaten here and that is the dungeness crab cake. But oh man, what a crab cake! During the tour, our guide made it a point to mention that the famous Tom Douglas is known for being more crab than cake. Which is unlike most other crab cakes I’ve eaten. You know, the ones that are more cake than crab. With that being said, I loved the crab cake. Lots of crab, an amazing crust and a nice dipping sauce made out to be one of the best crab cakes I have ever eaten. I would have loved to come back to try other things on the menu, but we didn’t have time. I’ll be back in Seattle soon though. And I’ll definitely try to eat as much as possible at TD joints.
