EverGreen Escapes

I live in the Pacific Northwest and am an outdoors enthusiast and traveler. So you’d think I wouldn’t want a guide. Ever. But the truth is that an expert really can make your experience so much better and richer if you let it!
I’ve done the North Cascades and Olympics Tour with them and loved both trips– the guides are thoughtful and knowledgeable, the food is great and I always end up with more interesting knowledge about my beautiful state.
If you have people coming from out of town for a visit– take them on an EverGreen tour! You will be so happy you did so.

I surprised my parents with an excursion with EverGreen Escapes for their anniversary. It was the Woodenville wine tour with sea plane tour of Seattle. (I think it was called Soar and Explore). It was the best gift I could have given them. They had the time of their lives. They couldn’t stop talking about their sommelier. She was so friendly, interesting, and knowledgeable. My parents said they would not want to go back to Woodenville without her! Of course the sea plane was fantastic too, but the value of this experience was brought by the personal attention of the EverGreen Escapes guide. I highly recommend anyone to spend time exploring with EverGreen Escapes.

My wife and a group of friends did the morning kayaking on Lake Union and afternoon wine tasting in Woodinville. It was outstanding. Professionally done, with great guides, fantastic transportation and super organized. Highly recommend.

We booked this on a recommendation from a friend who had done one of the tours before. We did the half day Seattle Tour, our tour guide was Christine. What I liked was they picked you up at your hotel. What I did not like was having to wait 15 – 20 minutes for the other couple that was going on the tour with us. Apparently it didn’t matter to them that other people paid money for the tour as well. They were called twice while we were sitting waiting for them… So that was not to fun or acceptable. It is Seattle and in the morning so of course Rain and it was a pretty good little storm system. However I did enjoy our tour and thought Christine was very informative and sweet. The tour overall was what I expected so If you want a quick tour of Seattle I would recommend just hope you get better tour partners than what we had.

We found Evergreen Escapes online while looking for an adventure in the Seattle area. My wife and I went on the all day snowshoeing adventure to Mt. Rainier. The experience is like a local version of Backroads — everything taken care of, knowledgeable guides, great food and a fun atmosphere. We are looking forward to going on another trip with them — maybe a long weekend hiking and kayaking in the Olympic Peninsula.

We did a full day Mt. Rainier tour. Evergreen tours picks you up (on time!) from any downtown hotel in a clean and spacious Mercedes van. We made two-​three stops for short hikes, a few stops at lookout points, a stop at a beautiful waterfall and stops for breakfast (tea & snacks), and a catered gourmet lunch. There are plenty of amazing photo opportunities. Our trip was with a small group (8) which allowed interaction with the guide on a more personal level. Our awesome guide, Curt, took every hiking and photo opportunity to explain many features of the mountain. The last hike is along the tree line providing a very clear view of the glaciers and mountain top. There is a lot of walking involved, but no climbing or strenuous hiking. It is a very enjoyable and educational experience for anyone wanting to visit Mt. Rainier for the first time.

My husband and I did the Christmas Lights and Winery tour and enjoyed every single minute. Great food, great wine, intimate setting to meet the winemaker and our tour guide was very knowledgeable. (And we got to Ride the Ducks for the holiday lights tour!) We even made new friends on the trip!
When my sister and her family came out this summer, Evergreen put together a 10-​day tour of Seattle and the Puget Sound, including a day trip to Rainier, a lake-​to-​locks paddle in the city, and several days out on the Olympic Peninsula and the San Juans. They couldn’t say enough great things about their tour guide, Tyler, and his knowledge of the Pacific Northwest wildlife and ecology.
Evergreen really focuses on the right way to run a business: Great customer service, kind, knowledgeable and experienced guides, a dedication to local businesses in their partnerships, and attention to detail. We are looking forward to more outings later in the summer and I’ll be sure to add to my review then!

We went on an all-​day snow-​shoeing tour of mt. rainier and had a fabulous time. There was 6 in our group (all first timers at snowsheoing!) and 4 others, making the total group size 10 pple. Everything from the drive over there to the food & snacks to the supplies was really beyond our expectations. Our guide Nick was AMAZING! He’s been doing this for many many years and was so knowledgeable about our surroundings. Despite it snowing like crazy the entire time we were out there, we still had a blast! Will definitely be booking a tour with them again.

we live in seattle so my bf and i went on the mt rainier snowshoeing tour w 7 other people in the group and tyler as our guide and it was amazingly awesome!!! it was our 1^st time ever snowshoeing and the day just happened to be perfect weather, clear blue skies! we could see mt adams and mt baker, pyramid peak and all the other peaks… we did 1 long hike and 1 short
our guide tyler was awesome and very knowledgable about everything you can think of asking, also i surprised my bf for his bday during the lunch (which i had planned w the reservation) and tyler brought 2 delicious cupcakes for me to surprise him !!!
the lunch they served was waaaay above my expectations, i thought we’d get a crappy sandwich and chips like most tours…
BUT they went ABOVE AND BEYOND and we had grilled chicken breast with peppers, salad and quinoa, even stuffed portabellas for the veggie lovers and cookies for dessert (drinks were sparkling water and apple juice and local red wine) !! everything was delicious !!! we also had coffe, tea and yummy blueberry cake for breakfast
i definitely recommend the company and the trip! and look forward to going on future trips with them =)

I took my mum on the Mt Rainier trip with Simon and we had an amazing time. It was honestly one of the most fun things my mum and I have done together. We learned a ton (which we then used to impress/​bore our husbands), had delicious meals (scones and tea for breakfast, gourmet salads and beef with wine for lunch), did just the perfect amount of hiking and sightseeing, and laughed our asses off. Both of us thoroughly enjoyed every minute.
I will definitely be trying out their other trips, and will be bringing more friends/​family/​coworkers along too. Snowshoeing is next up for us.

My boyfriend and I went on their «Brews and Views Tour» this weekend and had a great time! The tour guide was extremely knowledgeable about Seattle’s history and culture, took fantastic photos of us, and gave us a comprehensive guide to the beer culture in this area.
We stopped at Elliott Bay Brewery, Georgetown Brewery, and the Fremont Brewery. Our tastings were covered, and we were treated to a gigantic soft prezel at one of the breweries. We had the opportunity to take lots of photos and ask plenty of questions.
Our group was a lot of fun. We were all the same age (20-​somethings) and although we were from different parts of the country, we all shared the same love for beer and sight-​seeing. My boyfriend and I are both from Seattle, but we still learned a lot about the city.
I’d definitely recommend this tour for a couple or a group looking for something new and fun to do. This is also a great idea for those visiting because in addition to learning about the various breweries, you learn a lot about the city’s history.

We were both quite disappointed in our all day expensive trip with Evergreen Escapes. I had been so hoping it would be good as I planned it all out long in advance and it meant doing a lot of logistic maneuvering and additional costs for us on top of the $$$ for the day-​trip with Evergreen to be able to do this trip.
At a cost of over $ 200 per person for 1 day (with taxes) we were thinking and had read online we’d have a full day of snowshoeing with 1 short and 1 long snowshoe hike, but we only were taken on one very short snowshoe walk around a pond. The little walk at a very slow pace was under an hour long. And that was all we did really except drive back and forth from Seattle with a few very short photo stops. Oh and we ate a sandwich and a cookie in the van the company supplied. It was a nice van. But the price of over $ 400 for this trip for the 2 of us was absurdly high we both thought for what we got. I had been hoping/​thinking we would book other trips with Evergreen Escape as their trips *sound* interesting but we found reality wasn’t as it read like it was online with this company.

Great snowshoe trips for beginners!
I heard about this company through Groupon (as did everyone else on my tour), and booked a half-​day snowshoe trip to Snoqualmie Pass for me and a friend. It was a little hard to find their office, but the trip was fun.
They take you up in a very comfortable Mercedes van. The trips are not huge — mine had 9 people and the max is 10. All were locals except for two ladies from out of town. You do not need to own snowshoes as those are provided, along with water bottles if needed.
I don’t remember the name of the trail we were on, but it dead ends at the Snoqualmie Tunnel on one end. The terrain was mostly flat, and very relaxing. We walked to a look out point, and Kris, the tour guide, brought out hot tea to drink and muffins and scones from a local bakery to munch on. She also told us about the history of the area and gave us a nature lesson.
Overall, the trip was lovely, but it’s definitely for beginners. If you are an experienced snowshoer, you may find it a little boring as there is no challenge to it. I have snowshoed several times, so I am glad I bought the excursion through Groupon instead of paying full price.

Made it today for my first ever snowshoeing adventure. Got a great deal on a groupon. Had a hard time finding the location and figuring out where I needed to be and when, but once arrived everyone was super helpful. We drove out to snoqualmie pass in the early morning and walked around. I loved the part where we went off the trail and tromped through the forest. They also brought the most delicious mint tea which we had half way through our hike. Our guides were very informed and provided us with lots of information about the area to keep the trip from getting dull. I hear they do lots of other adventures but this is the first one I have experienced and would definetly consider signing on for a new one. Plus its a great way to try something new like snowshoeing. I feel like an expert in just one day.

This tour was AWESOME! My boyfriend and I took a day trip to Mount Rainier with EverGreen Escapes. Our tour guide (forgot her name, sorry!) was incredibly knowledgable. She holds a masters degree in environmental biology (if I remember correctly), has started her own tour company overseas that is dedicated to minimizing carbon footprints from tourists, and happened to just summit Mt. Rainier a week prior to our tour. She didn’t have a canned speech about certain sights. She just knew where to lead us and was able to speak so eloquently about anything we encountered. You spend a lot of time hiking, so be prepared. Even though this hike said on the website that it was an easy level of difficulty, I found some portions of the hike to really be challenging to keep my legs moving. (And I consider myself in good health and do considerable walking and weekly moderate exercise). Some other folks on our tour (who were maybe 50 years old?) had trouble by the end and took more of a break hanging out at the Rainier camp instead of starting another small hike for the last 30 – 60 minutes before we had to leave. You can still enjoy the beauty of the mountains all around you, even if you are taking a break. The tour guide had some snacks in the car for us, and provided lunch and some wine at lunch. The food was all really fresh, natural ingredients. There was a maybe 9-​year old boy in our group who really didn’t like any of the food.- salad, quinoa, fruit, and various pastries. I am sure there were a few other things, but I can’t remember them now. Anyway, this was our most favorite tourist thing that we did during our stay in Seattle.

This tour operator out of Seattle has begun doing their sustainable adventures in Portland. I found them after having a difficult time reserving the «nature» tours (Willamette Valley wine and Cannon Beach) I was so interested in taking. Coming for a week from Chicago I did not to chance the local tour operators would not have their quota of guests so I booked their more $$ but ultimately worthwhile tour of the wine country. A local walking tour guide and a woman from Atlanta were the only others to join me with Kieron in a biofueled Mercedes SUV. He is a botanist with a host of life and professional experiences for one of 30 years … And we made a very companionable and fun group for the half-​day tour. I was so impressed that I have signed up for their Cannon Beach full-​day tour on Sunday.
They are still making their way into the commerce and culture of this beautiful and unique city … I hope Portlanders welcome them as a tour company offering a different experience so in tune with the their own culture.

I went on the Olympic day tour and had a great time. They thought of everything. We were picked up promptly and made the ferry and there were organic pastries and hot tea on the ferry for us. They do all the driving so no stress there and it is a great day to spend outdoors.
The guides Dan and Tyler were super nice and knowledgeable. Dan educated us about all the trees and geology of the region and Tyler pointed out all the birds and knew them all by their call. We were lucky to get a sunny clear day and enjoyed a catered lunch at Lake Crescent and at Dungeness Spit we had views of the Olympics, Victoria and Mt. Baker. It was a great way to remind myself what a beautiful place we live. I highly recommend taking a trip with this company as you will get a great taste of the Northwest.
