My best friend and I stumbled upon this place years ago mainly ’cause I had a fascination with the porcelain art of Charles Krafft — Smith & Wesson Porcelain Gun. Picture a porcelain gum that is crafted to look like your grandmother’s tea china. Don’t believe me check out the artist’s profile on this page:
They also had a rabbit with knives in it’s back and a baby in a cage. A combination of unique and controversial. You will be guaranteed to walk out with a conversation piece. Sadly I couldn’t take anything home at the time ’cause at the $ 900USD price tag just for the gun itself… it was a big chunk of change that I didn’t have. Also explaining to the border guard heading back home to Vancouver would’ve been interesting.

I’m a big fan of funky and quirky with a sophisticated edge. Right away I just want the blazing pink neon diamond sign that hangs up in the studio. If I were friends with Andy Warhol and had to bring something from Seattle — this shop would be on the list! Ceramic characters of dark humor and you know this means something to me when I’ve found a place that carries brooches in the image of Karl Lagarfeld and Anna Wintour. And the owner, yes she is the sweetest thing! I even scored some faux tattoos from her!

Seattle is lucky to have Far4. Kooky, elegant, strange, humorous, and with outstanding artistry. I have purchased a few things there over the past 3 years(ceramic cage, ceramic owls, wall décor, etc). Every item becomes a topic of conversation when my friends see it. What’s more important, I feel joy and inspiration every time I see my little collection. Their items range from a few dollars to a few thousand dollars, from accessories to collector’s pieces. Yuri and Jenny are the friendliest owners, always with the brightest smile. I’ve always felt so welcomed. I don’t know how they do it, though. When some people walk into the shop with kids or dogs(or browsing all these delicate items while chatting on their cellphone), I feel so nervous for them. Someone may break a few things! Fortunately for me I have not witnessed any damage. Far4 is really the most unique boutique in Seattle. You may have to go to Ballard to find something remotely nearly as good. Thank you, Y and J, for your artistic vision. Keep up the great work. And I hope one day I will own a nice piece from Charles Krafft.

This review is for the Far 4 online shop. Although Far 4 is mainly known for their ceramics and home accessories, they are also a great resource for Super sunglasses. I was in the market for a pair and found Far 4’s prices to be very competitive. Ordering from a small boutique located across the country, I was a little worried that it might take a while for me to receive my glasses, but they arrived in no time at all(order placed Sunday, shipped Monday, arrived Wednesday). Communication from the shop was great, and shipping was free to boot! Overall, a great online shopping experience.

Visiting seattle w/my fam, this kickass boutique happened to be 3 doors down from the hotel. I was drawn by the stunning porcelain skulls done tongue in cheek in the delft china pattern, or w/the LV logo & brass knuckles affixed to the head. I had to check it out, and was blown away by the quality and uniqueness of goods. Everything was sort of that ‘dark’, off the beaten path humor, from a bunny holding a hand grenade necklace to a bear holding an ak-47 w/the rifle doubling as a vase. Spider & other creepier animal china could be found along with funky jewelry & accessories for the home. Apparently the curators pull stuff from around the world, as well as local Seatlle designers; and it’s clear they’re passionate about each and every piece. Lucky for me, their website is thorough, so I don’t have to fly to seattle every time I need that perfect piece.

I love, love, love {Far 4}! If only Seattle can have more fabulous places like these. They feature of home and personal accessories from artists from different parts of the globe. I love the heart that the owners put into the store. Although the home goodies can be on the expensive side, they are pieces of art that really represents individuality and uniquness! Have so much respect for the owners and their vision. It is absoulutly neat to introduce such artistry in Seattle! I totally adore this place! :D

I don’t really understand places like this. It’s in a busy part of town, yet no one ever goes inside. They sell quirky items, but the shelves are sparse — if you bought everything the store, you’d walk out with seven items in a small bag. How does this place stay in business? I don’t get it. I’m glad it there though. The world needs more weird boutiques and less cookie-cutter stores.

We had the opportunity to visit Far4 for the First Thursday Artwalk. it’s a beautiful store with a variety of intriguing items that capture your interest — from porcelains to jewelry, accessories and glass. I was especially drawn to the intricate porcelain flowers — the detail on each was exquisite. It’s a perfect place to find that unique gift for yourself or someone else. I couldn’t resist getting something for myself and brought home a porcelain key. Yuri and Jenny are very friendly and welcoming. They put a lot of thought and care into their store and it shows.
