FedEx Ship Center

Poor poor service. I ordered items from two companies and requested second day shipping. I tracked both packages and they both were to be delivered on my day off. My partner and I stayed home the whole day waiting. When I opened the front door to let my cat in in the late afternoon there was a tag on it. No one had knocked or rang the doorbell. I have cameras on both my front and side doors and checked to see what the delivery person did. He just ran up to the door threw a tag on it and ran back to his truck and never even attempted to make a delivery. That is unacceptable. I wonder if his company knows he is this lazy? I am definitely going to send a complaint along with a copy of the video I have of him. He won’t be able to dispute it.

I showed up and there was a line of about 7 people ahead of me. **SIGH**
To my surprise, it went by fairly quickly. Here, I was able to observe why the reviews of this location are so low and probably unfair.
The lady working was chipper, pleasant, and had good humor. I think the 5 out of 7 people ahead of me were really pissed about things beyond not being able to locate their package (like not having common sense…). They had missed the pick ups, hadn’t responded to the slips, called the number and then came to the wrong location. They didn’t believe her when she said 3 times in a row that this location was air only so they didn’t have ground package… yada yada yada.
All I had to do was listen to all of the people ahead of me to learn this. It’s not like it was a private conversation. But EVERY SINGLE PERSON made this woman repeat things nonstop and then got upset with her when she didn’t say what they wanted to hear.
Once they left and it was my turn, the lady behind me and I were extremely amused at the antics that the lady behind the counter had to go through and the transaction of sending my documents was easy and light humored.
Anybody who has to deal with the lacking of common sense deserves a cupcake. Here s a cupcake in the form of a 5 star review.
This location is just fine and they do their job fabulously and reliably.

Will not answer calls if they miss you– even if you’re home in back. Will not deliver on Sunday or Monday. They keep your package at their home so you can not pick up at FedEx site. FedEx uses contractors for home delivery and they will not answer calls even from fedex office. I left 6 messages plus my phone # and they would not respond even after 32 hours.

I am not sure why, but FedEx continually sucks for deliveries to my apartment building. I don’t think there ever was a time I have seen an actual delivery to my building. I have seen door tags upon door tags and instructions from tenants and still they leave a door tag. I literally cringe when I see a package is delivered by them.
If I don’t want their delivery like a hawk and call ahead and leave detailed instructions it simply does not get delivered.
I really don’t understand why. UPS, DHL, hell… even OnTrac can get into my building. I don’t know what stops FedEx.
This review is for a recent package that they said they attempted and was never delivered and now I have to go down to Sodo, just to pick the thing up.
They have been consistently crappy. a few months ago I had a bed delivered. Waiting by my phone (btw my phone is connected to my call box) nothing… I check online and I see «delivery attempted.» I had to call up FedEx and chew them out, the guy finally delivered my bed, but made some lame excuse why he didn’t initially deliver it. Hell I even had to drag it FROM the truck into the building by myself as the guy watched me impotently.
I am honestly out of ideas what to suggest they do. All I can suggest is to stay away from FedEx in the area, especially if you live in an apartment building.

Went to the Fed Ex shipping center in Sodo. They were really nice/​helpful and made up for such a utter failure of a delivery. Still peeved that Fed Ex driver was so lack luster (there was no doortag, I found the info online).

Fed Ex, Drug Traffickers whom are also t6he most horribly incompetent company at shipping things. You’d have better luck getting your package from them if they threw them off of the plane over your country.

After 2 attempts, Fedex couldn’t deliver my package because they couldnt access my apartment’s lobby while I was not home. Understandable. I followed the door tags’ directions to pick the package up at the ship center around 7pm. It was minutes to closing time, 10 people still waiting with arms crossed with more coming in, and just 2 employees manning the counter. Like many reviews, I was prepared for a crappy experience. What I got was the exact opposite:
–Every customer was not waiting to be helped, but have already been helped and just waiting for their packages from the warehouse. So essentially those who just walked in (me) were next in line! Staff was quick and responsive. They would return with multiple packages and dole them out to people.
–I also had to go back to my car to bring a package for delivery. When I turned around the place had closed, curtains down and doors locked. The same staff was cool enough to come out personally and take the package from me, saving me another trip back here.

Yes it’s closing time, no that doesn’t mean the customer service should drop. Locked front door while mid sentence with another customer. Then, once both of us signed for our pickups, we were led through the office, into the loading area, had to squeeze between a truck and a fence, and then out a back door. My 8 year old thought it was cool. I, however, found it EXTREMELY hazardous and ridiculous. I’m shocked that corporate allows this, as they are known for safety and precautions. Smh.

This location and the trucks that deliver from here are a living and breathing advertisement for UPS, USPS, OnTrac, DHL, and every other competitor of FedEx.
Every carrier, including all the ones mentioned above, will deliver to my apartment building… FedEx is the one exception that never delivers here. The FedEx driver always just tapes an exception notice to the front gate — even if someone is home and waiting to receive the package! To retrieve any package that was shipped to me via FedEx, I have to drive all the way down to this excessively inconvenient location in the industrial district and pick it up. Of course, their hours are limited, there’s always a huge line of angry customers in front of you, and the people who work there care exactly as much as you’d expect low-​wage counter jockeys to care. (Of course, as with most big corporate customer service entities, these unfortunate souls are not given the power to fix problems or make things right. So it makes sense that they don’t care at all, because they’re powerless anyway.)
I refuse to use FedEx at all now. Beware if you have to go to this location for some reason… it is located down by the air field where nobody lives, on a dark and scary highway, in a completely inconvenient and horrible spot.
Unfortunately, Amazon doesn’t let you select which carrier will deliver a given item, so if they decide to ship me something via FedEx, I’ll just let it get returned to Amazon (which happens automatically if the package isn’t delivered or picked up), take the refund, and buy the item locally.

Completely incompetent. A 0-​star rating would be much more accurate of the services they offer.
I was scheduled to receive a package that was unfortunately sent to the wrong address (I recently moved). I requested a hold on the package online and wrote delivery instructions requesting that the package not be delivered to the address. I then called in to make sure it was held. A FedEx representative assured me that it would be held and that it had not been sent out already, but a few hours later the package was on a truck (sent from the Alaska St. location) and supposedly dropped off at my old address.
The funny thing is, I had trouble getting FedEx to deliver packages for the entire 2 years I lived at that address, since it’s a high traffic area. FedEx only decided to leave packages by the front door once I made three clear and specific requests NOT to leave the package. I called FedEx an hour after delivery and they said that none of the previous requests were communicated, partially because they don’t equip their drivers with phones. How that is the customer’s problem is beyond me. Of course, FedEx had no solution whatsoever, as usual.
Terrible, just terrible.

A quick «in and out» visit, and I’m a happy customer.
The location sucks in that you have to pass through downtown Seattle to get there (and this is awful during rush hour).
And I can’t say much for the negligent FedEx delivery folks who failed to use door tags or notify me that I had a package sitting there for WEEKS (which is why I was here in the first place) and was about to return it to the sender.
But the customer service at this facility is great!

I have to use FedEx for certain business deliveries and they were late delivering my payroll checks. I pay for Priority Overnight delivery and apparently they just couldn’t be bothered to actually deliver. It’s not one of those occasions where FedEx can say no one was home, this is a business. I have a receiving dock. If it is business hours someone is there. FedEx is unreliable and can’t be trusted to make a delivery on time. If you have a choice find someone else.

These guys really have the worst customer service !
I’ve gotten used to them just slapping a tag on the door and running rather than trying to deliver a package (apparently the drivers don’t care that they’re recorded on the security cam).
Today was a new surprise, I’d ordered a package expedited, and it arrived in Seattle over the weekend, but they’re going to hold it at the depot before unboxing the container for another 3 days unless I want to pay to have the service upgraded.
Strongly recommend using anyone else.

I ordered a package to arrive by my birthday, a Saturday. It’s difficult for couriers to enter our apartment building to leave packages so I was waiting at my window like a crazy lady all morning to make sure I didn’t miss the truck. I opened the windows so I can not only look out for the truck but so I can hear its beautiful rumble as it bumbles down my block bringing me goodies! Alas, all I saw and heard was disappointment.
I heard the truck first and then I saw, with my very own brown eyes, the FeDEx driver speed right by our building. They didn’t even stop on our block! I got a message saying delivery was attempted and that I wasn’t there to receive it. «Delivery attempted» my tiny hiney!
I needed the package that day so rerouting it to the local print and ship center or waiting for a second delivery attempt was not an option. So, I waited until a delivery alert came saying that it arrived back at this shipping center. When I got there and told the man at the counter what happened, he didn’t even flinch. No apology for the driver, nothing. Really, a simple «I’m sorry, our driver shouldn’t have done that» would have appeased me.
I understand that apartments are a pain to deliver to and that they can’t leave a package at the door. There is no excuse, however, for not even *trying* to deliver the package, which is the delivery person’s job!
I was going to give this place one star, but I figure this is the first time it’s happened that I know of so I’m going to be nice and give them an extra one in hopes it never happens again.

I meant to update this the very next day after I wrote it, but being the holidays and all, I didn’t get around to it.
I had another package I had been expecting via Fed Ex that week, and my sister (the shipper) called to let me know that she had accidentally shipped it to my previous address, which is also in Seattle. She had shipped it overnight, so by the time she caught the error, the package was already en route. While I was at the location 20 miles away, picking up the package mentioned in the previous review, I also mentioned this separate package to the clerk and gave her a tracking number. She confirmed that it would be arriving the following day (¹²⁄₂₄), and she was able to put a «hold» on it in the computer, so that I could drive 40 miles round trip yet again to go get it. Sadly, this seemed like an easier and more trustworthy option than trying to re-​route it from my previous address to my current one, given the issues I’d already had with them even when the address had been entered correctly the first time. I watched her enter the hold request into the computer, and she confirmed that it would definitely be held at that location and available for pickup the following morning at 8:30am.
The following morning a call came in when I was in the shower, and the voice mail said something along the lines of, «Hello, this is so and so from Fed Ex. Just wanted to let you know that your package is on the truck and out for delivery at [my old, NOT CURRENT, address], so I hope you’re home! Thanks.» No contact number left so I could call her back — I had to call the usual 1−800-GOFEDEX nightmare hotline. Which I did, and at least the representative I spoke with sounded as annoyed with the idiots responsible as I was. He said, «I see the hold request very clearly in the computer. I have no idea how or why it was loaded onto the truck for delivery.» At least he was able to have them radio the driver and bring the package back to the sorting facility so that I could go get it myself. That’s the one positive comment I can make.

Ok. so I know it gets crazy around the holidays in the shipping industry, but in this day and age where business is extremely competitive, their really isn’t any excuses for poor service. This is my first experience with Fedex (Usually stick with UPS) but the site I purchased my items from didn’t have that option.
I ordered the 3-​day select shipment on monday figuring that it would be here thursday in order to get it before the weekend for Christmas. I tracked my order each day and what do you know it arrived at this FedEx location a day and a half early! But instead of putting it on the truck the next day they held on to it since it was a day early (understandable but still kind of frustrating. I mean come on are you really settling for mediocre service?)
Than the day it was supposed to arrive my tracker said it was on the truck, so I waited around the house in order to not miss the delivery guy, and of course, he never showed. So the next day, as I’m looking at my tracker, it showed that the package never made it to the truck. So I decide to take mattters into my own hands and go down to the warehouse to find out that my package is just hanging out there, a day late, even though it was on the truck the day before (This makes no sense to me). So I pick it up myself.
I realize that I might be being a little critical here, but after getting used to the service and friendliness of the UPS delivery guys, who I might add almost always deliver their packages early and stop by at the same time every delivery, the service provided by FedEx doesn’t even come close!

Specially prepared Fresh Seafood has been shipped to me Overnight with Fedex 3 times and 3 times they have not delivered overnight. They have said that if I really wanted my packages I needed to drive to their World Center to pick it up. I live on an island so I have to take a ferry and drive a long way to get my packages. Then when I have gotten my packages they claim that it was delivered overnight so they would not refund the delivery cost. If I wanted my delivery cost refunded I had to leave my packages to spoil at the Center to let them deliver it eventually.
UPS always delivers Overnight reliably to me.

Well it is a Fedex center… There is not a real line here and if there is a lot of people waiting for packages the place is a mess/​zoo of people. The workers are friendlier than most Fedex places. But, I still hating coming here because it means whomever was delivering that day was too lazy to come into my building and get in the elevator.

What’s the beef everyone seems to have with this location? Everyone that works at this location have always been very pleasant and helpful. You can not blame the folks behind the counter if your package is not there. The drivers have a job to do, which unfortunatley, happens to correspondwith the times that most people are at work. But get real folks! These people have jobs too! Is it realistic to believe that these couriers would call you up and set up delivery to your schedule?! I think not! Someone, whoever you ordered your «stuff» from, paid to have this stuff delivered to the address your gave them. If you game them your home address, you can not expect the courier to know that you are not at home when they are trying to deliver to the address on the package.
Cut this location some slack! FedEx did not mess up your delivery address, the shipper is responsible for putting the address on the package. FedEx did not request to deliver the package to your home address while you were at work. The place you ordered from gave FedEx the address to deliver to. And if you think that when a courier attempts a delivery, that they will immediately drive your package back to the station so you can pick this package up in the middle of the day, then you do not know how to run a business efficiently! This is a delivery company, they have more than just YOUR package on board.
At least FedEx calls you and lets you know that the shipper did not listen to you in the first place, and wrote your address down at N Broadway, when you actually live on E Broadway… that is NOT FedEx’s fault.
So please peeps, think about the review you give this location, and decide who is the one who gave FedEx YOUR information in the first place!

Fedex used to be the première delivery service in my mind, light years above UPS and anything else.
NO MORE.
I missed an «Adult signature req’d» delivery to my house and it said they would try again (during the middle of the day… when I’m at work… nobody home) two times until holding at the distro center.
Fine, I call to ask about picking it up from the center. Do this with UPS all the time, no big deal.
Oh but it is. Unlike UPS which has fairly convenient centers in Seattle, Fedex apparently likes to keep their packages in AUBURN. Oh, that makes sense.
I asked about delivering to a Fedex store instead… no dice, we can redeliver to any address (for a low, low fee of $ 10), but not our own stores. Oh, that makes extra sense.
So, I will be taking a wonderful weekend trip down to Auburn to pickup my damn package.

Only on super rare rare occasions will I never need to come here. It happens about once a year to be precise, and it’s to pick up a king cake my New Orleans friends sends me. It’s a thing we have. :)
This place is FAR and complicated, but fortunately they are open lateish and we have GPS. I’ve been able to pick up my king cake later in the same day they attempted delivery which is nice (Post office says your package is ready for pick up the following day). They are open until 6p, I believe.
Each time we have been here, we barely squeak in on time but they will wait for us and are in usually great moods (when it’s time to go home, who isn’t smiling?). Then they ultimately have a conversation w/​us about our kingcake (the box is decorated so they know what’s in it).
