On a sunny Wednesday Winter afternoon, I had an appointment to get an alignment done. They estimated it would take couple hours I didn’t have a ride home so I stayed behind and waited. I was there for a little over 2 hours. You see a lot of different types of people going in and out at this South Seattle location, if you know what I mean.
With tons of walk ins going in and out, where I was sitting you could easily hear the conversations. My hat really goes off to Binh, he was extremely knowledgeable and his customer service skills are top notch. I work on cars myself as a hobby, and his recommendations of why the customer may be experiencing that was honest and correct.
They aren’t trying to up sell you, that’s the RECOMMENDED maintenance. I’m amazed on how some people think they don’t need to maintain or service their old cars and expect it to drive like new with zero problems. I even heard them give a guy a free oil change just because they took longer than the estimated time. (Probably won’t see that happening too often, but still I was like wow, that’s good customer service)

Firestone on MLK is def my GOTO for maintenance on my SUV! They are friendly and efficient! and guarantee their work! I’ve never run into a problem that they couldn’t help me repair or fix with my truck. Their always busy so making an appt is much recommended! You def won’t be dissatisfied! Come check them out!

I was super impressed and pleased with my service at Firestone this last week that I started a Unilocal account. I called Wednesday, I believe, to schedule an appointment to get new tires for the next day and Anita answered the phone. She was very helpful, granted I had researched the tires I wanted and had checked on their website before hand. So yada yada yada, went in the next day and got the tires as well as an oil change, an inspection, and an alignment. Turns out we needed new brakes soon and they had a deal so we scheduled another appointment for Monday, today. Binh was who helped us then because they had accidentally gotten delivered an older set of tires that were past their 5 year limit to put on a car and so because of the inconvenience of having to get another set installed Binh helped us out on the oil change and alignment a bit. He was very nice and professional. Overall we were both very satisfied! Thank you

The people who work at the counter have really nice customer service. But I’m not sure about the technicians who work on the car. The wait here is also really long here with an appointment. You can make an appointment and they won’t get to your car til later. I had my car worked on here in July. My car isn’t lowered but it has a lip kit. The person who parked my car, parked it too close to the cement block. So the lip of the bumper went over it. So when I backed up I hear it scratch coming off the cement block. A couple of days ago I was checking the pressure on my tires and noticed that my rims were scratched near the wheel locks. It’s like a chunk got taken off when they were removing my lug nuts. I also bought their lifetime wheel alignment. Now I wish I never did because I do not want to go back to a place that does not take care of their customer’s vehicle!

Taken my car here for over 4 years, and although they worked timely, I paid for work that was never done, and when I went back complaining about the problem reoccurring after hundreds of dollars worth of work and not having my car for days, they took it for two more days and it STILL WASN’T FIXED. This is par for the course with them.
Unless it is an oil change, tire change, or something brief and easy, don’t bother. Go find a REAL dependable mechanic who takes pride in their work and customer relationships. You’ll feel your car is in better hands, get the work actually done, pay WAY less, and leave satisfied.
I’ve owned a lot of cars over the years and had many mechanics, this is by far and away the worst.

I’d honestly say zero stars if given the chance. I have taken my car here several times and have noticed a steady decline in the quality and timeliness of the work. Yesterday I called and asked if they had any availability. It was a Saturday so I wasn’t expecting good news. They told me it would be a 4 or 5 hour wait for an oil change, but that I could make an appointment for today. I dropped off my car at 10 and they only began to look at it at 2:45. Why bother making an appointment if they aren’t going to service your car for 5 hours?!
This will be my last trip to Firestone.

OK. Alex Reyes discovered that in my past wheel alignments the previous techs didn’t go an extra step. Long story short, my vehicle is now perfectly aligned. I just wished this would’ve been discovered earlier so as I wouldn’t need tires in a few months.
Oil change went well and a tire rotation will buy me some more tread time. I have lifetime wheel alignment and Road Hazard which I completely recommend. Safe driving. S

Walked in on a Sunday morning and spoke with Service Advisor Binh. I had previously had an alignment done by the Renton Highlands Firestone and specifically told their SA to max out my caster and get the toe/​camber within factory spec. My truck is lifted on aftermarket suspension with oversized A/​T tires. When I received my results the SA told me that they «maxed out my caster» and everything else was ‘in-​spec”.
After receiving a couple second opinions on an online enthusiast forum, I found out the tech at the Renton Highlands Firestone was lazy or unqualified to move the cam eccentrics bolts as they could’ve moved them more than once. I specifically asked for caster to be close or over the 2.5 range, if possible. The best they could do was 1.6 R and 1.0 L. I am very particular with everything in life and my vehicle is one of them. Dissatisfied with alignment results I consulted with Binh at the MLK Firestone and told him my expectations for this second alignment. I provided them my results from my Renton Firestone and told him to get his tech to get my caster close to 2.5 and set toe/​camber to zero.
2 hours later I get a call for my results. Binh explained clearly how they got my requested specs to 98−99% to what I wanted. Caster was 2.5 R and 2.4 L and toe/​camber within the .04 range. Truck drove straight and no twichy steering. I am happy with my alignment results. I thank Binh and his tech for going out and actually putting in the necessary time and work to get my truck up to my standards. I believe most other places will call an alignment «good» as long as they see «green» as in «GTG» when they are doing the numerous alignment jobs daily. Binh was able to work with me and get my requested specs without compromising areas of camber/​toe.

Going on past two hours for an alignment now. Was quoted an hour on the phone.

I always leave this location happy. I’ve had multiple oil changes and my parents have had ²⁄₃ of their vehicles tires replaced by firestone, which should say a lot! I once had a nail pop through a tire that wasn’t manufactured by firestone but they took it out for free anyway. Two big shout outs to Phu and Sherman. they’re extremely friendly and helpful. Best of all, they are very professional and never tried to up sell me or my family! Phu is allowing me to drop my car off at 7:30am (30 mins before opening) bc of my hours. I honestly wouldn’t have allowed that if I worked there! They are super accommodating and kind.
It’s also great to know that I don’t have douchey rice rocket drivers fiddling with my car!
I wish they did car washes. I would be allllll over that.

I recently went to Firestone to get my car’s tires replaced, and was looking forward to great service based on all of the Unilocal reviews. We were planning on going on a road trip, so we decided to bring the car in the day before to get it all ready. Thankfully they allowed a walk in appointment, and after inspecting the car they said that we needed all 4 new tires. This seemed weird, especially since we just replaced the front two tires within the past year, but they’re obviously the experts so I took their word for it. After their «courtesy check,» they also kindly pointed out that we had $ 600 worth of repairs to the car, which also seemed weird because we have never had any problems with the car. But again, they were the experts, so I decided to go with the more «critical» of the two repair suggestions. The next night when we began our road trip, the car started bouncing up and down on the highway and the check engine light was blinking at us. We couldn’t believe it– we had never had any engine issues with the car, and this suddenly began after we paid for $ 600 worth of work on the car! We drove the car to the nearest Firestone at the time and they said that our cylinder 1 was full of oil– a problem that was fixed by replacing the work that we just had done. We were so disappointed in our sudden car troubles and the amount of money we paid for this whole ordeal. Unfortunately we bought lifetime alignment here, so it looks like we’re going back… I just wish I had chosen a different auto repair shop to begin with! I am giving them two stars instead of one, though, because they were friendly during my initial visit

I recently received a call from Firestone about this post, apologizing for my experience and offering to refund their work. They were very apologetic and kind, and understood how frustrating it was for this to happen to us. I was looking around for other shops to go to in the future, but I will definitely give this location another try!

Thanks to Dawn at the service desk who offered to send out a tech all the way to Georgetown to get my car started, and thanks to Chris the tech who got my car started in a couple of minutes so I could get to Firestone to have a new starter ordered and installed in a couple of hours. You don’t get this kind of service from big chains. It’s nice to have peace of mind when dealing with people like them.

I started going to the Westlake Firestone because it was half a mile from my home, I stopped because of the Bro-​mentality and general douchieness of this location.
Here is the MLK version; these guys are all super nice, very helpful, and you don’t feel like you’re going to get screwed over because you’re a woman. When I called, Sherman saved me 20 $ on my oil change by suggesting I print out a coupon. Who does that? Sherman did. I drive 6 miles out of the way because I really like these guys. Thank you MLK Firestone!

Don’t go to Firestone on MLK unless you are in a bind! Went in for a simple oil change for my infiniti G35 which I got quoted for $ 25 over the phone. When it was time for my bill, it ended up being $ 50. And they were going to charge me for a courtesy check. Wtf! It gets worst… Hours later, I get a call that they did a courtesy check anyway and I had all these issues with my relatively new car. $ 300 for a headlight, 200 for a battery. Which all together was $ 777 total for recommended services.
Don’t go here, they are upsellers. Go to pepboys on 4^th instead, which are my go to guys. FIRESTONE «F» for being con artists and sleezy!

I had a nail in my tire & they were very sweet and accommodating and were able to see me right away :)

I’ve had bad experiences at other Firestones (Renton one putting a ding on my gas cap door, and the Federal Way one forgetting to put the engine oil
cap back on) so I stayed away.
I recommend people to look up each individual location’s reputation before you go, if you need to go into Firestone.
Because this one is great. Sherman is very friendly and knowledable. This one looks like a newer facility, but they are very busy for a reason: the staff is great and honest and do good work.
Hopefully this one doesn’t get bad like the others.

The guys shows best intentions, willingness to please, attentive and accommodating. Can spread them self thin at time trying to please everybody.
A star/​point omitted for time management. Instead of putting in order so technician can get works started, he went on and help a walk in customer.
Time quoted was 2 –3 hours so I was willing to wait around.
My 9 AM weekday start time ended at 2:30 PM., still a better experiences than most.

Always friendly and accommodating staff. They upsell higher quality products for a reason but will be honest about all of your options. If you’re a poopoo head about cars, they will even make recommendations about other shops that offer the right service you’re looking for.
Perhaps other branches may get the short stick in reviews but the MLK joint is a solid operation with competent techs. Feeling cranky this morning? The front staff’s smiling, laughing banter will wipe that cantankerous frown off your face. Want a calm experience at the repair shop? Come early when they open and bring a book. The pleasant wait is like a mini vacation from your morning commute, while you’re pacified with the knowledge that you’re actually following that maintenance schedule on your car like you’ve always told yourself you’re going to do.
And the people watching, let me tell you. 98 118 is one of the most diverse zip codes in the nation (represent) and it’s always a fun social experiment to spend an hour and a half here. Hell, this morning, a Rolls Royce employee came in with a thick British accent right after some guy brought in their 90s Integra for servicing. The MLK Firestone is the great equalizer. All are welcome. You think you’re coming in for a tire rotation and oil replacement (10% off this morning) but you really stay to find your place amongst the human spectrum. In a nutshell, straight shooting dudes that keep your car running and don’t take up too much of your time.

I dropped my overheated car off at 7pm on a holiday while they were closed and they called me at 10am the next day with a solution to the problem. Turns out it was a $ 25 fix and I could have picked my car up within an hour! They didn’t try to sell me on any other services and they called and gave me updates periodically throughout the day.
My car is a 2002 Audi and people questioned me not taking to the dealership BUT this place was 100x better than any Audi dealership in the area in terms of price, service time, and professionalism!
Whether you have a Ford, Honda, or Audi, this is the place for you!
