Fremont Coffee

This is a really cute, cozy little café with plenty of seating. I had a soy latte which has a slightly buttery and fruity deep roast. I enjoyed it, and that’s saying a lot considering the fact that I’m no fan of a buttery roast. My latte had some nice foam art that I drank before getting a chance to snap a pic. (I really needed the coffee.) I would, definitely, visit again if this place were closer to my apartment.

It’s a little tight in the café and the bathroom could use some work, but if you’re just grabbing to go, they are great and have a good selection of coffee drinks, teas (chai, herbal, black, hot/​iced, etc.), good selection of dairy substitutes for your lattes, and some pastries/​small bites.
They also have free Wi-​Fi for customers.

Over priced. Servers talk bad about customers after they leave. Alright coffee nothing special

I love this place for a couple of reasons:
1. It’s cozy. Which is sort of an essential quality for Seattle coffee shops.
2. The coffee/​drinks are generally good.
Minus two stars:
Service is consistently rude. I have been coming here off and on for about 3 years and have honestly not had one time where baristas weren’t snobby. They talk bad about customers after they leave and often just seem like they don’t want to be there. I can only assume this must be a problem with management since it is a consistent issue with all of the baristas I’ve ever had here, both male and female. I notice other comments on Unilocal also mention the poor service and it seems the business does not care.

~rude/​unpleasant staff — avoid~ Really want to like this place. Its a house converted to a coffee shop with rooms available with tables to work. The coffee is okay buy my issue is with the staff! Every single time Ive gone in they have been rude, indifferent or having personal conversations while trying to order in line. The coffee is fine, as is the location but I avoid it because of the aloof baristas. They are much more pleasant at other coffee shops. They do make a skull out of foam which it cool but kinda weird around holidays… Come up with new designs and be friendly and professional.

Finally I think the bakery is good because a lot of raspberry inside.

one of the better drip coffees we had, and what a cool place just to chill while warming with a cup. we’ve never had a bad cup of coffee in Seattle ever. must be the combination of beans, water and method.

Been wanting to come try this coffee place for a while now. It’s a large converted house with a wrap around porch for additional covered seating outside. Tons of tables and chairs. No shortage of space. Great coffee. Obviously experienced baristas. Perfect temp. Perfect foam and even the most unique design I’ve ever seen. The music is also the perfect volume. I hate being drowned out by tunes being blasted too loud in any restaurant or café. They got it down perfect. Completely chill environment. The bathroom is very modern and very clean.

Came here to meet up with my friend! Very friendly and all smiles. Looked cozy and a lot of tables and seats. If I lived closed by this would be my coffee shop to go to.

Two hour wifi limit (meh) but in a cool house that reminds me of a favorite coffee shop in Austin (hello, Spiderhouse!). Relatively quiet and one of those classic PNW coffee shops where most people are quiet/​buried in a book. Ah, sweet silence…

Great coffee and nice guys at the counter. Made my kids some special little hot chocolates. Croissants were tasty (though a little softer than you’d expect.) definitely would come back for the coffee

Love the cute outdoor seating! Feels like Grandmas house. Tried the iced soy vanilla latte, delicious!
The only Vegan lunch option was the Molly’s quinoa salad which is also very tasty!

Decent coffee, none of us got latte art. Kind of a disappointment especially when we were only visiting for a couple days. Are you suppose to ask for the art? But they servers weren’t very friendly so we didn’t even bother asking. Powdered some cinnamon on my latte and called it a day.

Got here an hour before closing and it was empty. The interior is small and cozy. Very home-​y. We went in because we saw that they did coffee art and saw the good reviews.
The barista present told us he couldn’t really do anything super special but we told him to do whatever.
He made a reindeer and an elephant in our mochas. The reindeer even had a red nose which was cool. For someone who said he was bad I thought it was pretty cool. Mocha itself was delicious. Not too sweet or saturated with milk and still had good coffee taste. It’s a nice place to relax and chat.

Quaint little coffee shop. Different milk options, baristas know how to make crafted espresso beverages, and definitely a local spot.
Only request is I wish the baristas were a little bit more friendlier. But hey, maybe it’s because I’m just used to the Midwest hospitality :)

I had a really bad experience here. I asked the barista to use less milk in my breve because I like a stronger coffee flavor. The staff played the «I’m a barista so don’t ask me to change my art.» game and instantly went to level 10 condescending.
I tried asking another way, nicely, (can you make it dry?) and then I got the perplexed look, slumped shoulders and the «20 questions tactic». That’s when the barista «starts from the beginning» and asks questions that convey how utterly annoyed they are you with you.
He asks «Do you mean a double shot of espresso?»
I reply, «No, just a breve with half the milk you usually use.»
Now his head is reeling, stupefied he asks: «Do you want a macchiato?»
I gave up at this point and asked for a double espresso with the milk ‘on the side’.
That pretty much ended the conversation.
So I gave up, it wasn’t worth the hassle. The barista made the drink he wanted and filled it to the top with milk. I paid for it, said «Thanks» and started writing this post.
A good barista likes to please their customers. Some even like to try different things to make their customers happy. I’ve had some who have created new drinks when I ask «What do you recommend?». That’s fun because a skilled barista has a lot of ways to make a drink delicious and I’m happy to participate in the experiment.
I just wanted to warn people to avoid the crappy service, mediocre drinks and superiority complex. Try ETG down the street. The coffee is better and the baked goods are OMG delicious.

Such a cute coffee shop! The inside is an old house but transformed well that it works as a coffee shop. Love the charm of this place — including the outdoor seating. So fun on a sunny day! We stopped by for some morning coffee on a Sunday before heading to a ball game. The baristas were so super friendly and even did some baseball coffee art when she asked if we were going to the game — so fun! Must try this place, it’s great.
PS — get the kale and sweet potato wrap — wonderful.

My friend and I wanted to find a different place to study at instead of Milstead, so we came here! Apparently this place is known for their latte art! They actually do different art, instead of just the flower latte art. The interior of this place is really interesting. It’s literally like you’re in a house, and even the restroom looks like the one in your house. There’s a lot of tables and outlets, so it’s a pretty good place to study at. They also have a porch area which was pretty nice. I would most likely come back to sit on the porch and read a book if I had spare time :) Overall, I do like this place, but I think the coffee is okay, as I’ve had better. Also, the rooms do get a little stuffy, so that’s another reason why this place isn’t 5 stars. However, I’m still a fan and will probably be back to get some studying done!

Fremont Coffee resides in a neat old house in a busy part of Fremont. Inside it’s very cozy and comfortable, and the barristas are friendly. House roasts are good, but I wasn’t a huge fan of their muffins. Seems like a great place for a quiet afternoon with a book.

The place: a quaint, cozy coffee shop a half block away from the Lenin statue in Fremont. Walking in makes you feel like you just entered a friend’s living room. Lots of small tucked away rooms with tables for 2 to 4. Looked like a great place to catch up with a friend.
The drinks: got an 8oz hot apple cider which turned out to be steamed Trader Joes from their fridge — $ 3.25. Not even mad though: it was reliably delicious and I wasn’t going to steam this stuff myself. «No coffee at a coffee shop?» Just wasn’t feeling it this morning.
To be honest, I’m normally a bang-​for-​your-​buck minded Unilocaler. However, my rating really goes to the overall ambiance and experience of the coffee shop. I did feel like I overpaid for the cider a bit, but my time here wasn’t just come in, pay, receive my beverage, and leave. It was a cold and gloomy day, I had an hour to kill while waiting for my fiancée to get out of a yoga class, and this place came to the rescue with a temporary, exceptionally comfy home, free wifi, and a hot beverage. Worth every penny.
