I love love love the Pork Chinese hamburgers here! I first tried them because the name intrigued me and have been hooked ever since. They are like a giant pan fried dumpling shaped sort of like a hamburger, thus the name. They are great dipped in their awesome killer garlic sauce. Just don’t plan on smooching anyone or go to any job interviews for a few days after eating the garlic sauce! The steamed dumplings are huge and plentiful, but I prefer the pan fried ones the best. The only drawback is the small size of the restaurant and parking lot for such a popular place. Oh and the chairs are hard wooden ones so aren’t very comfortable. This is why we usually call in an order and pick it up to take home. I wish they had delivery to our area, but if they did, I would go broke eating there all the time! Oh no, here come those Chinese hamburger cravings again!

Great dumplings and their leek pancakes were way better than I could have imagined. I will definitely become a regular! On top of all of that, they are incredibly consistent, which I believe is a huge factor for a restaurant. There were reviews about the management being rude, but I believe they may have hired different people to answer the phone and mind the front because they are super nice and helpful now.

I almost feel guilty writing this review, as so many people seem to really enjoy this place, but… I just didn’t like it. In fact, I’m sitting here with a pretty upset stomach after eating here. My friend and I wanted to try a new place, so after reading many favorable reviews, it seemed like an obvious choice. The ambience is kind of run down, and the interior is tiny, but normally the best places tend to be holes in the wall, so I wasn’t too worried. What struck me as odd from the get-go is that this Asian restaurant seems to be run by Caucasians. This wouldn’t normally bother me, except I’m Asian, and I have experienced so many ethnic restaurants just absolutely slaughtered by non-ethnic owners. In fact, my friend and I were the ONLY Asians in this restaurant. All the clientele were white, too, which should have tipped me off. We shared the hot & sour soup, which was probably the worst dish. Did not taste like traditional hot & sour soup, and it had different ingredients. Heavy on the onions and no bamboo. Took the entire bowl as leftovers because we couldn’t stomach eating more than half a cup each. We also shared a plate of 12 boiled dumplings, which were actually okay, and quite sizeable, but nothing special. I had to use a lot of red wine vinegar and garlic sauce to have any flavor. My favorite dish was the BBQ pork chow mein. It wasn’t amazing, but I was so hungry that I ate almost the entire dish by myself. The pork was flavorful, the noodles were thick and slightly firm, and I enjoyed the fresh vegetables. I would normally give a review like this 2 stars, but the employees were so over-the-top friendly and accommodating that I feel that level of customer service warrants a decent rating. Based on my experience, I won’t be back, but I am willing to admit that maybe I visited during an off day.

This place is wonderful!!! The food is amazing and their homemade garlic sauce is the BOMB! My friend and I ordered 24 dumplings and fried rice. It was more than enough food for the both of us, we had leftovers for a good size meal. The dumplings were a big size that don’t lack in the stuffing. The fried rice was a big mountain size. They give you pickled veggies as starter and they are delicious, they give you tea as well. The service is sooooooo attentive and friendly!!! Every single staff member we encountered that day were amazing! The place is small and we got there close to opening, 30 minutes later it started filling up. I am soooo glad I found this amazing little restaurant!

This place is great for take out. I haven’t been in to eat but the hubs says it’s better as take out. Which sounds like maybe the atmosphere leaves something to be desired. The food is awesome if you’re into a kick ass hot sour soup or dumplings with an super garlicky no-joke dipping sauce. That garlic stays with you the entire next day. Seriously. Don’t go there on a first date. Other than that we live have I got in our hood and the food doesn’t disappoint! Try it!

Fu man is the jam! For dumpling houses It’s my favorite. They’re always super friendly and the food is stellar! From my family to my co workers everyone I’ve taken here loved the food. Try it! You won’t be disappointed.

Crazy good Chinese food. Don’t expect to come here and get a 3 – 6 page menu you see at most Chinese restaurants. The menu is limited, but go with it, order the dumpling soup and anything else — you’ll get a large portion of fresh ingredients and deliciousness.

There was some controversy among us about whether we should rate this restaurant 2 or 3 stars. The friendly staff argues for the higher rating. The good, unfortunately, does not. There was nothing terribly wrong with the food, but then again nothing particularly exciting. The fried dumplings were large, nicely fried, but utterly ordinary. The green onion pancakes were ok, though oily rather than crispy inside. The ma po tofu was nothing special. The only standout was the egg drop, tofu, and spinach soup. The broth was nice, they used good tofu, and there was a generous amount of fluffy egg. All in all, a thoroughly ordinary experience, made pleasant by a friendly, extroverted staff. If this were a bar, it might be a great place to go. As a restaurant, not so much.

Seattle lacks delicious, cheap eats. Fu Man is on the less expensive end and it delicious comfort food. Try the Chinese beef hamburgers. They are the ultimate hang over cure.

Green Onion Pancake is unbelievably good. Thicker than any other onion pancake I can remember. Paired perfectly with the dipping sauces. Little salty at first, but this is Chinese food. The House Special Chow Mein isn’t fucking around either. Noodles are thick and plentiful. Good mix of meats and veggies make for a dish you can split between a couple of meals. I’ve been here before for soup with dumplings in it and I left so full my motorcycle handled differently. I ordered a bag of frozen dumplings today. Picking up tomorrow cause they gotta MAKETHEMFIRST. #freshness Happy.

After a long day hiking through the mountains, our friend suggested we go here for dumplings. I was 100% on board because 1) I was hungry, 2) dumplings are delicious, and 3) that meant they probably also had soup and I was freezing. The restaurant itself is not very big, but don’t let that deter you. Service was excellent. We walked in, immediately got a table, and a nice man brought us a pot of hot tea. I was thrilled because, again, I was freezing and hot tea sounded fantastic. It was fantastic. Bonus? The man put the tea in front of me so I could keep my hands warm. We’ve only been in this restaurant for two minutes and already the people who work here are being sweet — yeah, I’m totally a fan. We each ordered a soup and then got the«everything» fried rice and dumplings to share. My wonton soup was good and a nice starter to the fried rice and dumplings. The fried rice was also good and had lots of shrimp — it had lots of everything else, too, but lots of shrimp. The dumplings were delicious. We ordered way too many because the boy’s eyes were larger than their stomachs, but it was no problem to take the extras home.(And they tasted great for lunch the next day.) Service was great throughout the entire meal, the food was delicious and very reasonably priced, and this place clearly has quite the following because people were walking in to pick up to-go orders the entire time we were there. I thought the tea was a nice touch and I wish more places did that.(Well, places in Texas. Maybe that’s common here in Seattle.) I’m glad I got to try Fu Man’s delicious dumplings and, if I’m ever back in Seattle, I’d put them on my list of places I need to visit again before heading back home.

Hmm so my friend and I were looking for a place with dumplings and ended up here. It had fairly decent ratings on Unilocal so I thought that this might not be bad place to try. We ordered soups(Egg drop soup for me and Wonton soup for my friend), homemade dumplings and pork buns. The soups were okay… nothing out of the ordinary. Now when we got the dumplings, they were alright and what bothers me would be the fact that the pork buns taste the same. They had the same filling and even the wrapper was the same. The only difference between the two was the size. Now to be fair with this place, I feel like we could have tried more dishes and the staff was very friendly. I don’t know if I’d go back though because I was really looking for dumplings and I wish they had more choices on the menu.

Note: Not fancy! Jeans only! And don’t we all need a place like that, most days? Can I go again soon? If you live close please let me live vicariously through you. Though it is not fancy(support the mom and pop shops), it is seriously the best homemade dumpling shop in the area. I am vegan, I had the seaweed salad, the tofu, rice etc. My siblings had two separate types of dumplings with meat. They loved them both. Hope to visit again soon.

My youngest son and I went to church last Sunday, and after we finished up, we decided to go on a little culinary adventure. Yes, we went to ‘Fu Man Dumpling House’ up in Bitter Lake /Greenwood area. This place is easy to miss, because it is sandwiched between two other businesses on the East side of Greenwood. While there are a few parking spots in the front, there is a huge lot in the back of the place, so no worries there. We were promptly seated, and our server, Jun, was very friendly and helpful. We asked him for recommendations and ordered what he suggested. The green onion pancake was awesome, the chow mien noodles were delicious, and of course, the dumplings were to die for! We really felt that the service was outstanding. You should definitely give this place a try if you’re up in the area and hungry for some great food.

This hole in the wall dumpling place is so good! The owner and employees there are super nice and friendly. The owner makes everyone feel right at home as soon as they walk in the door. They even remembered me from previous visits! Be sure to get their dumplings! Very good and filling, huge portions. I also recommend their BBQ pork fried rice. Again, the portions are very generous. The actual dining area is small but cozy. Sometimes I just like to call and order for take out.

Fu Man is that hole in the wall joint you stop off at because you’re headed up north and need some dumplings in your belly to fuel the journey. Destination joint? Probably not… but I thoroughly enjoyed the pork buns, noodle soup, and… especially… the green onion pancake. I ate that things as cold leftovers behind the driver seat on a four day road trip around the Olympic Peninsula and it was fantastic. The staff is a little casual for my liking, so maybe it was destined to be road trip food from the start.

This is not a place where you expect a fancy meal. But a tasty meal? Yes, Fu man Dumpling House is the place to go. Delectable dumplings. Proof? I have this friend, Tao, from the northern part of China. He said they had the best dumplings in Seattle. I think that did it for me. The dumplings were amazing. Juicy, fresh, steaming hot. Served with this garlic-ey soy sauce(which they are about to sell bottled). Given that you will probably love this place. If you call in advance(a day or two), you can ask them to pack some frozen dumplings for you. Really doesn’t compare to any other place in Seattle. This is coming from someone who visits China town every fortnight, and used to adore Din Tai Fung.

Food, service, $$$? Excellent, excellent, excellent. Everything was very, very fresh and delicious, service was super attentive and friendly, and it was $ 30 for two of us to eat 12 dumplings, shrimp and chicken fried rice, and a huge plate of stir-fried vegetables. Just go, it’s great. It’s small though, and packed the whole time we were there!

Food is a 3⁄5. Service is a 5⁄5. Fu Man is WAY down Greenwood Avenue in the Bitter Lake neighborhood. It is a small building that is very easy to miss. The parking is a little complicated, so be prepared. Upon entering, I was immediately attended to by the proprietor(?) or someone operating the front of the house, seating guests, taking orders, delivering food, refilling water, etc. I imagined this person being Asian, but it was just some random white dude! Haha. Is that racist or just a stereotype? Anyway, whoever he is the guy is awesome. This was the best service I have ever had. Want extra broccoli? No problem. Extra rice? Have two. Want some extra napkins before you even need extra napkins? Um… sure… His psychic powers are obviously well-attuned to your every want and need. Okay, now, the food is actually pretty good, but I made the mistake of ordering too much of, basically, the same thing. I ordered some pork buns, dumplings, and potstickers, but had no idea that they use the same filling for all of these items. I was, essentially, eating the same thing, just prepared differently. After a while, the same overall textures and the flavors began to make me nauseous, which prevented me from enjoying more of my meal. In the end, we had them box up a bunch of food which I then gave to some homeless people in Fremont. I had a pretty good experience at Fu Man Dumpling House, but don’t order too much of the same thing because it can add up. I think our meal came to $ 52.00. I recommend you stop by at least once, because it really is a great, little place.
