This community center has everything! Everything from a workout room, playground, gym/​basketball court, rooms for rent and much more. Plus, the host the Central Area Festival which is great for the community!

Nice place in the Central area right next to Garfield High School. I mainly go here for swim team functions for my kid, seems like plenty of rooms available for rent, also a massive gym, workout room and playground right next door. They have toddler play time in the gym like a lot of the other community centers.
Not sure how many community events they have here — but for a community center in this area it still seems pretty nice/​new.
Ezells is across the street, Medgar Evars pool right next door.

A park with a real merry-​go-​round! How rare is that these days? My son has been eying the long twisty slide every time we drive by, and I finally took him to this park. Nice play structures for the 2 – 5 set, some swings, and the merry-​go-​round.
Parking happened to be difficult to find in the lot the sunny weekend afternoon we were there because of a meeting in the community center. We parking about a block away and walked. The CC was quite busy with different classes and meetings, bathrooms were ample, and a basketball game was going on in the gym. It’s nice to see this space is being put to good use.
