This place is now called the Iron Bull… And it sucks. This is my second time here, and you always have to wait 30 minutes for a drink and an hour for food. They have two bartenders and one food runner for like a hundred people. We are finding a new place to watch big games. Also they had a «tippr» deal on sale yesterday and it’s not usable today. Horrible.

They closed, after many long years. A note on door states that water is turned off.

Huh. So I went on a weekday with some friends. Always walked by and decided tonight was the night to give it a shot. Dive bars like Al’s have made me me a believer. In Goldies defense it was trivia night but c’mon this was awful. When we walked in it was set up so we all got stared at. The bar was a disgusting green, the lighting was less than ambient, and it wasn’t cheap. To make matters worse it smelled like urine and spilled drinks. After looking at then menu for a few minutes everyone in the group looked up and knew it was time to leave. Bleh…

Poor Service but cheap We went there recently on a Wednesday night — 6 of us, which doubled the number of people in the bar. We wanted food and drinks, and got probably the worst service experience I’ve had in Seattle. The only redeeming quality was that the server was nice. she wasn’t being nasty or vindictive, just really bad. She was slow, and given that there was no one else in the place. WTF? When the first round of drinks were brought out, she had messed up two of them — the wrong liquor. It took several attempts to get our food order in. which took a while. The 2 bacon cheeseburgers had no bacon! When one of our group pointed this out, she took ONE of them back. We had to walk the other one over to the counter. And so it went. The thing that keeps me from a one or two star review is that they had karoake there the Weds we stopped by(and currently every Weds about 9pm), and though the place was empty, we did some songs and had a good time. The server and karaōke host were about the only others doing songs. THe place is a divey college sports bar that has seen better days. Basic bar food, but the drinks are okay and cheap. And hopefully get better service than we did.

They sell my favorite drink for $ 6. SIXDOLLARS! Six dollars I tell you. And it’s not any drink… it’s Vanilla Stoli, Hypnotiq and Sprite. AND they make it in a pint class. I kid you not. For $ 6. This drink is usually priced at about $ 8 – 10 and always comes in one of those baby glasses. I was so, so relieved to find out how cheap these drinks were here. It meant I could order a lot of them. And I always like ordering a lot of things. Aywho, besides the awesome beverage they made me, the service was pretty friendly. The bartender was fast and the cocktail waitress provided attentive service and was quite approachable. And while the atmosphere wasn’t what I normally look for in a bar, it was a relaxed atmosphere and offered everything(darts, pool, karaōke, video games and such). I had a pleasant time here and 5 drinks, 2 shots and tax & tip later I left with a $ 40 something tab. Not too shabby.

I used to live a few blocks from Goldie’s and went there to watch college football every Saturday. I loved it for the reason at least one other reviewer mentioned — the mishmash of sports bar and dive bar that differentiate it from most other places to watch a game in Seattle. The crowd(if there is one) isn’t obnoxious and is usually sitting in near-silence drinking their beers(great variety on tap, as well as a fully stocked liquor bar) and staring at one of the ample TVs. I’ve never eaten the food, but it usually looked pretty good. Now, I’ve said nothing negative, so why the so-so rating? Goldie’s has changed. They’ve changed the hours that they’re open(not opening until 3pm on a Saturday! For shame!), the sports package they subscribe to(hasn’t affected me, but others have left unsatisfied), and the food menu(no longer nearly as extensive and now limited to a handful of typical bar apps and sandwiches. At it’s heart, it’s still the same old place on the inside, but all these changes have really stripped away some of the personality of the place … and have left in it’s place just another stinky bar that’s not open early enough.

I normally don’t go to bars, in fact I really dislike them; but, as I don’t have cable tv, but wanted to see Monday Night Football, I had to venture out. Goldie’s is nice, if not a bit too dark and musky. The bartender was really friendly. The one problem was that all of the tvs blew out midway through the game. Yet, they were nice enough to direct me to Murphy’s. Overall they have a nice setup to just hang out. Lots of pool tables and darts and more tvs than any person really needs. Plus, for smokers, there’s a side door leading to their fenced patio so that you don’t have to go out of your way to smoke.

Oh, Goldie’s… you’ve somehow become the place where I perfect my Friday morning hangovers. Sure, it’s kind of a shit-hole and tends to smell vaguely of urine. BUT the beers are pretty cheap, and the sandwiches are actually quite tasty. I usually manage to drink and eat myself into a stupor for $ 20. Also, there are many dartboards, pool tables, and erotic photo hunt.

I used to go here once in a while but have lost my desire to drop in, maybe ever again. The last time I went I was bummed at the crappy beer selection. When I finally got my beer the glass was kinda warm which made it even worse. I do agree with the other Unilocaler that it does kinda stink also.

Just moved to the neighborhood and have to say my roomie and I are in love with the place. Where else can you have good beer and classic games like skee ball and sit down ms. pac man for a quarter? Can’t get that at Jillians or chuck e cheese without the side of screaming children headache. I think we may have to have a relationship… even go steady.

Ms. Pac-Man anyone? Oh yeah, they’ve got pac-man, cocktail style. I was really shocked on how cool this place was after discrediting it for some time as a nasty dive that needn’t waste my time. The guys slinging drinks here are hella cool, even though I get Id’d almost every round. Guess I’m not a recognizeable face. I stumble in here towards the end of a night of binge drinking. It’s really close to «Dick’s» so I’m almost guaranteed food before they close. I had the high score on pac-man until some ass clown kicked my ass.

Goldie’s is the shit??? I just moved here from«the Whale’s Vagina» and you know what… what it lacks in ritzyness it makes up in character. the bartenders are great, the food is fried, and the drinks are strong. What else can you ask for. Now, I have read the other negative comments below… and you know what??? Look at the people who are haters. A bunch of wanna be bar elitist dorks. One of the dorks gave Cowgirls Inc. a 5 star review. Really??? Anyway, if you want to have a good time, drink strong cheap drinks, watch almost any game on TV and just flat out want to have a good time… Goldie’s is the place.

Was only here for 20 min(pub run), but had a REALLY bad vibe. Maybe the bartender wasn’t happy with 50 runners coming in, but it was the most business they got at 1p on a saturday ever, I’m sure. Maybe it was just a bad day, but sadly that’s all it takes. They have pinball and video games, if that’s your thing.

When I was leaving Goldie’s on Saturday, I had that same feeling you get when you run into an ex and realize that, by breaking up, you had dodged a major, armor-piercing, poison-tipped bullet. How could I ever have thought I had something in common with you, Goldie? How could I ever have aspired to see you weekly? You’re empty but you’re loud, and I hate to say it but you stink a little bit too. Plus the people who hang out with you are skeezy and your employees are neglectful. I can’t even say if you’re a good cook, because I waited for an hour without you asking me what I wanted to eat. I mean, no hard feelings or anything, and I wish you well. I’m sure someday you’ll find a girl who will make you very happy. But don’t hold your breath.

My friends and I had a blast at Goldies last weekend and I am so grateful they warmed us up with their drinks and apps on a cold winter day! This is a great place to hang with friends and it is definitely a great place to take a date! I had an amazing bartender’s margarita(well, I actually had three), played an hour of Ms. Pac Man for 25 cents a game, and dominated at Skee Ball! They also have 4 pool tables, at least 8 dart machines, and a few video games. The bar is large and spacious, so you are not knocking into someone as you toss your darts or try your luck at Skee ball. Our server, Elsa, gets 5 stars for kick butt service! We didn’t go thirsty the entire evening b/c she was johnny-on-the-spot with replenishing our drinks and loads of fun to talk to. Go Elsa! I will definitely be returning to Goldies!

Goldie’s is a sports bar. Sort of. They certainly have television screens. And electronic darts. And pool tables. And neon signs. Unfortunately, instead of the sport’s bar crowd, they got us, the 45th dive bar crowd. In my opinion, the whole dive-meets-sport is the charm of this place. The draft selection is great — Snoqualmie Wildcat IPA is one of my favorites and this is the only bar I frequent where I can get it — and the bar food is greasy and delicious. The music in the juke box is obnoxious. The atmosphere is not cozy. My roommates have been ousted for fighting(but always allowed back in later.) But… Goldie’s is an important part of 45th. Where else does the owner give you a chair that he liberated from another neighborhood establishment?(Thanks man… it’s come in handy in our kitchen.) Where else do the bartenders all know your name?(Actually a lot of places. But still.) Ok I’m out of where-elses. But seriously, this place adds to the diversity that is the bar scene in this neighborhood and if it closed, I would mourn.

This bar makes me feel old at 32. Patronage is fratty, and that’s not a compliment fake-lats pack-mentality frat fucks. Concerned the staff might be zombies given their sleepy appearance and slow movement. Heavy, drink a red bull or something man, you own the place. Initiating conversation just makes me give up and drink my beer faster so I can get out of here. The TVs suck balls, so this is not a place to kick back on your own. Been here twice, I’ll probably give it another try. Call me masochistic, they have beer and it’s close. Who knows, third time…

I don’t like this place. It might be more lively when school is in session… but I’ll never be a regular. It has lots of room. Lots of dart boards and pool tables. Even a pinball table(MM). But: kinda cavernous and soul-less. A friend remarked, «It looks like Corpus Christi.» and I think he nailed it, for whatever set of images that brings up for you.

I don’t know why people are hatin’ on this place! I guess it’s the whole«to each his own…» sorta thing. Goldie’s is great! It’s like going to your own rec room. Everyone knows your name(if you’re a frequent visitor like myself). There are loads of dart boards, and several pool tables. Pool is free on Sunday nights! They have trivia questions on Tuesdays and Thursdays for half price drinks, karaōke on Wednesdays. The staff is awesome too! They are always down for a good laugh, and take good care of their guests. It definitely isn’t a «classy» joint, but if you just want to kick back with some friends and play some darts or pool, its the place to be.

It’s stunning to me that my buddy«the Beer Guy» counts this dump as one of his favorite places. His recommendation to me for my first visit to Goldies was«it’s like a Midwest bar». Only those of us lucky enough to have escaped the Midwest would get that reference, as it does seem Goldies has been pirated out of Chicago and transplanted in the Pacific Northwest, complete with all of the knuckle-dragging Bears fans you could ever want. One thing, though. This place would be a total punch-palace on any college campus in the Midwest, but even Seattle drunks are too passive-aggressive to behave that way. They would probably go and key someones car instead. In fact, if you’re curious about the nation’s midsection, you can save yourself the price of airfare and just go get smashed at Goldies. You’ll find cheap beer, cheesy bread, pool tables, new-wave electronic dart boards, Golden Tee, and the crappiest projection TV set-up on the planet. I watched the NCAA Final Four on this bedsheet and bitched the entire time. The picture was so fuzzy I thought I was on mescaline. They make up for this by having 30 other salvage-quality TV’s strewn throughout this hell-hole. The bathroom is usually a real adventure. I’d watch out for the young bucks upchucking their latest PBR into the sink or better, into one of the urinals, in addition to the ever popular stench-reeking homeless guy bathing in the sink.
