My boyfriend and I love to spend weekend mornings at bakeries in Seattle, and this one is hands down our favorite. We’ve tried others and one will ever compare to Grateful Bread. The variety(esp on weekends) is so amazing. They have everything from fluffy and satisfying bagels to chocolate croissants and cookies to satisfy a sweet tooth to «healthier» choices like morning glory muffins and energy buzz oat bars. Their sandwiches, wraps, soups, and paninis are also really good. Lots of vegetarian options and everything is super fresh. Their challah is the sweetest most fluffiest thing ever and I feel like I could eat a whole loaf of it to myself. The ambiance is also perfect for a lazy weekend morning. Beautiful(covered) patio and tons of tables inside and out. If you’re looking for an ideal Saturday morning: get a Seattle Times from the newspaper machine outside and do the crossword with a cup of drip coffee and a cinnamon raisin bagel with cream cheese. And make sure to buy a loaf of challah to take home!

Yes, it gets super busy on weekends but it is worth it. The ham and cheese croissants are the reason we get up early on Saturdays. If you’re there too late, the bin is empty and sadness fills your heart. I don’t love the coffee but it’s good enough. Parking can be a pain.

Great selection of bakery items! Love the scones and the bagels, and the challah bread is tasty! They have a kids corner with books and some toys, though it’s pretty dirty back there to be honest. The space back there feels a little dark — would be nice to update the furniture, as the old wood and couch feel a little sticky. Food is great, and staff is friendly — a neighborhood favorite.

This is a cool little coffee/bakery/sandwich spot in Wedgwood with a bit of a hippie vibe and an even greater vibe of community gathering spot. Lots of sandwich and quiche options… you’ll wait a while if you order a hot sandwich or panini though. I was here with three friends, and the guy who ordered the hot sandwich was still waiting for his while the rest of us oinky pigs tore through our deli sammiches. Friendly staff, cool tunes and funky décor add to the laid back ambience… we were treated to customers and staff alike quietly singing along to Led Zeppelin’s «Physical Graffiti» playing in entirety on the stereo.

Cheese Danish — the best anywhere. And cherry cheese Danish. So hard to choose. And cinnamon rolls that are totally worth it. With a truly delicious vanilla latte.

What a superb local bakery! Good bagels, croissants and macaroons. Most of the food is reasonably priced and the quality is dependable. The atmosphere is warm and friendly. Regulars are known and staff can predict their orders. What a fun place to live near!

We are regulars for Sunday breakfast /brunch. Usually get 2 bagels with shmear, a pumpkin muffin to split, and 2 coffees. Their bagels are extremely reasonably priced, considering the love and good ingredients that go into them. And if they’re a day old, they’re sold on a shelf for half off! That’s as fresh as it gets. Bagels you buy at the store are sold at full price and have probably been sitting on the shelf for a week. I love the funky local art that is always featured on the walls, and the staff is pretty consistently friendly. As someone who appreciates good baking, and supporting local businesses, I’d definitely recommend this spot.

Insanely good pastries… cinnamon role my favorite using croissant dough… so so light buttery at the same time. but then the pumpkin muffin to die for too! I always take visitors to their Duvall location!

A nice neighborhood spot offering coffee, sandwiches, pastries, and many other items. Food is tasty and there’s free wifi. Great place to meet up or get work done, as long as make it through the long lines during certain hours.

Despite being extremely busy, the baristas were very quick and friendly, making my experience simple and enjoyable. Seating is great, indoors and out, with outlets at about every third table. Though they don’t have any gluten free baked goods, their chocolate macaroon is fantastic. Oh, and their coffee is pretty good, too! Update: I bumped off a star because their internet is so spotty here. I don’t know if it’s just me, but today and a few other days it will connect and disconnect, loading pages only once every 10 – 15 minutes. Bummer.

I’d planned to go to Top Pot, but by 10:30 they were pretty low on stock. Already hungry, and not wanting to travel too far, my boyfriend and I decided to travel across the street to Grateful Bread. We both ordered a couple of breakfast items and a couple of coffees. The coffees took a while… maybe because of the service, maybe because of the other orders, but just know you might be standing around for a bit. Taking in the clientele they seemed to be mostly a «granola» crowd. Perhaps the name, or the local, organic nature of the place led them here. If that’s important to you, then maybe this place is for you. Me, I’m just about the taste. If I’m not making it then I rarely think about what’s going into it. So on the subject of taste… I bit into my cheese danish, it was pretty delicious. Like cheesecake on a croissant delicious. Maybe a touch too much lemon in the drizzle, but that’s picking nits. Then I taste my rooster comb(it’s like a bear claw with almond paste they inform me) and it tastes just like the danish. They used the same croissanty base for both… and I can’t taste the almond paste. My boyfriend bites into his cinnamon roll, and it tastes the same and is shockingly low on cinnamon filling. Thankfully, the quiche did not taste the same, but it wasn’t anything special. If you go in for a pastry there is no need to buy more than one thing… and I would go with the danish, because at least the cream cheese was prominent.

This place rocks, not just because it’s a great neighborhood joint, but because their food is such high quality! I’ve come here for coffees, breakfast, lunches, etc. Everything I’ve had I love — most recently I got the club sandwich for an upcoming plane ride. It traveled so well and tasted fantastic. Huge fan!

I’ve been with my family several times since my original review and it’s definitely better… across the board. Service is faster, quality of food is better, employees are friendly and helpful. I’ll keep going back.

Bagels are oh so delicious and fresh! Food is generally delicious as are the morning glory muffins, though I would say there is an overkill on the salad dressing. You may want to ask them to be light on it or put it on the side. Otherwise it is one of my favorite joints in the area as it has a lot of space and I can settle down there to get some work done. It’s quite crowded on the weekends as families and groups of friends come together together. Customer service is decent, I’ve never had any problems though I haven’t been wowed either. Pretty much the typical Seattle customer service experience. Though they very efficiently work through long lines! Parking can be kind of complicated on the weekends sometimes, but you can usually find something. Their parking lot can sometimes feel like a bit of a trap, it can be hard to navigate out if the parking lot is full.

They offer a variety of bagels, pastries, breads, sandwiches, rotating soups and even quiche. Service has always been fine and the breads have always been good. Overall, a solid place to stop by if you’re looking for some carbs. They also have a half off shelf of day old breads. I think the quality of their food is decent, but there isn’t anything that I crave from here.

Simply wonderful! Their pastries are my favorite. My favorite is the blueberry muffin it’s hard shell and soft and fluffy center are so delicious. I’m not a huge coffee drinker and no expert but their lattes are a perfect pair with any pastry. You can’t go wrong with a plain croissant and a side of jam either! The croissants are perfectly flaky and buttery it’s truly my neighborhood go to!

One of my all-time favorite cafes — in the ten+ years I’ve been coming here, the quality of their offerings has remained top-notch. The line can be super long on weekend mornings, but I don’t mind taking a little extra time to savor the smell of delicious coffee and home-baked goods. I love to stop here with my dog before heading over to the Magnuson off-leash park, and it never disappoints. Enjoying a savory croissants and Americano in their«outdoor» eating space hasn’t lost its charm yet. :)
