Great food, and a really cool atmosphere up on Queen Anne. The service was great. Ordered the Pan Seared Wild Salmon which was amazing. Highly recommended.

Yes, I’m a fan! We did a late brunch, it was around 2:00 p.m. when we wandered in to order. They offer espresso and a full bar or you can also score a non-alcoholic beverage such add Martinelli’s apple juice. My husband ordered the Beef Brisket Hash with a side sausage and I combined the bennes for my order. The hash was incredible, tender and perfectly seasoned. The hollandaise sauce was exactly as you should serve it. Good color, not over lemony — overall very well balanced. The poached eggs were served at medium which is my preference. My only feedback is that the biscuit is too much with the Benedict. It’s very buttery which seems to overpower the sauce. However, it could be divine if you topped it on their very interesting potatoes. From the looks and taste I believe they first boil medium red potatoes and then fry them making the outside very crispy. Come with a ravenous appetite because the plates are huge. I can’t wait to go back!

Yes. All the yeses. This was great. I was a little worried walking in as it appeared it might be a little too cool, or rather, we weren’t cool enough. But that wasn’t the case at all! They sat us right away. There were other kids there and everyone seemed happy. Our server came over and we had a great conversation. The evening went on and we were treated to some amazing food. The pork belly appetizer was something special. My only criticism was that it was hard to hear. Food was amazing.

Grub is our neighborhood restaurant that always surprises and pleases. My standard breakfast is the Biscuit Benny. Sharon’s biscuits are AMAZING and the Hollandaise sauce is rich, but not heavy. The flavors mix perfectly. Go back for dinner and get the incredible Grub’s Buttermilk ½ Fried Chicken with skillet mac & cheese, sautéed kale. The batter and oil used in making this treat will exceed every delicious thought you had about fried chicken. The atmosphere is very casual with a kitschy mix of tables, chairs and accents on the walls. The staff is friendly, informative and fun to chat with. Come in for a relaxing meal and leave sated and fulfilled physically and emotionally.

Found this place by searching best brunch Seattle. So happy I did. We were in Seattle for a wedding last weekend and hit a couple of food places to make the trip more memorable. Grub was hands down the best meal I had while in Seattle and was one of the best breakfast meals I’ve ever had. I was really hungry so I ordered the«I’m Starving Omelet» and it delivered! The standouts were the biscuit(amazing along with the delicious homemade strawberry jam) and the potatoes, which were like none I’d ever had. A small baked smashed, then coated with olive oil(I presume) and cooked some more. Layers upon layers of tastes and textures made them an experience I’ll long remember. The omelet itself was very good too. I had to force myself to stop eating as I was clearly past full but still had delicious food on my plate. To say I loved my meal would be an understatement. Yes, they were busy. Yes, we had a bit of a wait. But our server was very nice and attentive and the experience was a 10 in every way. I would love to return to Seattle just to dine there again.

Solid place on the Hill. Hubby, kiddo, and I were running errands around the city yesterday, and had arranged to drop the little one afterwards with my sister and her husband for a couple of hours so that we could squeeze in a mini-date. They live right at the bottom of QA, so Grub was a short 5 minute cruise away, and has been on my list ever since I saw it featured on Check Please! NW. It could not have been easier–(free) street parking spot right on the corner, and less than a 10 min wait for a table(but there were open bar seats if we had wanted). I can see how this is an excellent spot for breakfast/brunch. Hubby and I were stopping by around 1pm and were in the mood for lunchie items, and for a brunch menu, Grub seemed heavy on the bfast-type items over the lunch. Nevertheless, although there wasn’t too many lunch items to choose from, both hubby and I had excellent, tasty meals! Hubby was quite happy with his lamb burger and my beef burger was cooked to perfection(exactly medium rare just as ordered)– juicy and yummy! Both came with fries, which were hot, crispy, and had just the right amount of saltiness! Service was excellent– friendly, timely, and with the right amount of «NW cool» provided by our 20-something, hip, and cute server. He knew exactly when to check in with us and when to just let us eat! I would definitely love to return earlier in the morning to try breakfast, but am a little wary of the wait/lines. Grub was a pretty small space and as far as I could tell, doesn’t take reservations.

My go to brunch location while living in Upper Queen Anne. Really good eggs benedict served with thick ham and biscuits instead of the traditional Canadian bacon and English muffin. They have home made strawberry jam that is AMAZING and they will sell you a small container of it if you ask. Dinner is decent but you shoukd really go for brunch. They also have good rotating brunch specials! It tends to get busy for brunch but if the weather is nice the outside patio provides some great additional seating.

A little overpriced but yummy food! Portions are huge, especially if you get a savory plate. Between the 5 of us we got: French toast, Spanish omelet, biscuit bene x2, and beef hash. I was really looking forward to have the stuffed French toast but that wasn’t on the menu so settled for the regular version. The toasts were soft, super flavorful, and thick sliced. I wish it had more fruits tho, and some chopped walnut to give it some texture. The mini pot of syrup also didn’t feel enough. The beef hash was huge! Took a bite and felt some fatty parts but it was still very yummy. The Spanish omelet was pretty good as well. Free refill on the coffee, although they only came around once to do so. I’m not sure if I’d come again if I didn’t live in this area.

Confession: I’m a total newb when it comes to brunching in Seattle. I wanted to get brunch in Seattle, on a Sunday, and not wait 2 hours for it. I settled on this place because, at the time, it didn’t have an absurd amount of Unilocal reviews. It had 80, which for Seattle is barely a dent. Anyway, after a bit of a wait, we sat down. I couldn’t decide between two items so I asked the waitress for advice(something I only do as a LASTRESORT). She didn’t seem too warm on the brisket hash… so I ordered it anyway.(something I despise when other people do! If you ask for advice, and then don’t take it, you’re being a total ASKHOLE. GETIT?!) Well, it was not only delicious; it was the best brisket I have ever had. Ever. I don’t even know what comes in 2nd place. It was so moist(sorry ladies) and tender. Brisket is often very tough. This literally/figuratively melted in my mouth. It was so good I made my two friends try it(again, something I rarely do). IDEA: They should open up a spinoff BBQ joint has this brisket and NOTHING else, it would be wildly successful!

A friend and I were looking for a new place to get brunch and she suggested Grub. It’s in just the most adorable area of Queen Anne that I don’t make it to very often. SO cute. Anyhow, it was pretty packed at 11:30 on Saturday, but there were still a few tables available so we were seated as soon as I got there. I ordered the Greek omelet(although the GASP sounded really good, too). The Greek omelet, which I ordered made with just egg whites, included feta, tomatoes, and spinach. On the side were(wheat) toast and breakfast potatoes. The potatoes, instead of being a bunch of little ones, actually came as larger pieces of potato that I cut apart. Everything was delicious, although I guess the omelet could’ve had more filling. My friend ordered the Grubbin’, which was three mini pancakes, two eggs, and pork belly. We weren’t really sure what to expect from the pork belly and, I guess naively, expected something more like sausage or bacon. It was, in fact, something that looked like a pastry… of meat. It was a little weird and my friend actually ended up asking the server to take it away, which she did. Yes, we’re weird. The server was quick to refill our coffee, which is always appreciated, and overall it was a good experience. Maybe just a little less meat pastry next time.

Grub is my favorite place to brunch in Queen Anne, and it remarkably manages to appeal to me and my spouse equally. The menu balances lighter, fresher items with heavier, comfort foods. Any of the omelets can be made into a scramble, and they’ve all been delicious. The fried smashed potatoes are not to be missed. I recommend the egg dishes over the benedicts or biscuit sandwiches. The breakfast po-boy, however, is a masterpiece and easily enough food for two people(but get a side of potatoes to go with your French fries!). I have less experience with Grub’s dinner menu, because I always order the seafood fume and/or kale and chickpea salad. My dining partner has ordered the lamb burger, ribs(a special), and steak, and liked them in that order – the steak, it should be noted, was tough, thin, and not very good. The restaurant is very loud during peak hours, but when the weather is nice, there’s outdoor seating. No reservations for parties smaller than 6, and expect a wait for dinner on the weekends.

So, Wife N. and I were up in Seattle visiting some friends in the Queen Anne neighborhood and the text conversation goes something like: Me: What do we want to do for brunch tomorrow? Her: Let’s get some grub. Me: Sounds great, where do you want to go? Her: Grub. Me: No, not«what do you want to eat», rather«where do you want to go»? Her: Grub. No, literally, the place is called Grub. Me: Oh. We arrived on a busy Sunday morning and met up with a group of friends, seven of us in total. The wait was a bit longer than we’d hoped thanks to a perfectly centered-amongst-three tables cackling threesome of twentysomething ladies who’d paid their check a half hour prior but insisted on staying to obliviously discuss who knows what, then all breaking out their phones and showing each other their cute puppy and northwest latte art pictures(I’m taking some artistic liberty here, but you get the point) before finally deciding time had escaped them. Once they left, to the relief of all involved including the hostess and waitress, things took a great turn for the better. We all had a round of different brunchy noms. Son(13) had scrambled eggs and bacon(what else do 13-year old boys eat?). All the rest of us had our variety of different lovely meals, all of which were great. I had this filet of beef eggs benedict(I think it was called the boulder-something, maybe Boulderama?) which was just total yummy awesomeness, with a side of these excellent crispy potatos. There was plenty on the plate by any measure, but it was one of those dishes you wish wouldn’t end. Wife had the Biscuit Benne which is a more traditional version of benedict with ham. Despite the wait, this place was worth it, and the pricing was very reasonable. Service was stellar and gushingly apologetic for the wait. Everything was awesome on their part, and I’m looking forward to our return.

I LOVE this place. It is great for brunch and dinner! Can’t say that about many places. I’ve come here twice for brunch and was always very satisfied to the point of food coma. The regular menu may not seem amazing but the specials are always good!(It’s what I usually pick) For breakfast I’ve had a stuffed French toast with lemon mascarpone and blueberry sauce. Another time I got the biscuit bene off the menu. Both delicious and full of flavor! The potatoes are something you have to add! For dinner I’ve had the grilled pork chop twice but both had different sauces. They were both off the dinner special. Not disappointed either time. It was juicy and filled with flavor. The mashed potatoes were so creamy. Absolute perfection! I would say the prices are kind of on the high side but for the location and quality I think it fits. The restaurant is so cute. Nothing really matches which gives this place it’s own flair. They also have a decent cocktail menu and those drinks pack a punch. This place is good for couples or families. There’s not a ton of room so if you come in a big group expect to wait a bit. I’ve never really had to wait as a party of two which is good.
This place is fantastic! I stopped in to treat myself to lunch, in the middle of a pretty crazy work week. The staff are super friendly and pleasant. The place is pretty small and quaint, and I got no bitterness vibes thrown my way for electing to sit at one of the few tables alone, instead of the counter. The server was very accommodating when I asked for grain-free substitutes. The food came out quickly, and looked and tasted wonderful. I’m interested in trying weekend brunch here! I’ll be back :)

What an awesome find on Queen Anne! I really wish I lived up there so I could frequent this place more often. I’d say its best feature is definitely the brunch(most days they serve brunch, but not dinner so check the hours). I came here on a Saturday and ordered the biscuit benne which was basically a kick ass eggs benedict. Usually, I choose something with scrambled eggs, but I decided to be adventurous and I have to say… I ventured and I gained, people. It was great. The hollandaise sauce was perrrrfect, creamy and rich, but definitely not too much so and it covered this homemade biscuit, which was thick and wholesome, everything a biscuit should be. The fun part of the dish was the potato side. The potatoes were fashioned into wheel-like shapes(sorry for the shoddy description). I’ve never seen that before and it added an unique look to the whole presentation. I can tell this place is a neighborhood spot because the owner is often there, talking to customers and taking the time to get to know them. Grub makes me want to be part of the neighborhood! The only downside is parking(only street). However, I find if you venture into the residential area just west, you can find some spots.

Went here for brunch the other day and we were seated at the communion table, which was actually made from an old pool table. They have too many good choices for me to really decide. I eventually got the BLAT sandwich(BLT with avocado). The sandwich had thick, crispy bacon on multigrain bread. It was really light to eat and paired with a nice salad. My boyfriend got the pork belly with 3 mini pancakes and eggs. We also got one of the housemade biscuits as a side. The biscuit turned out much bigger than I expected. It was delicious with butter and jam! Nice and crispy outer coat with a soft middle. The pork belly was also done really nicely. I also like the jams they have at the table. I would definitely come back to try the benedict! They also have a bunch of daily specials that looked good(like the mac and cheese). Too many choices and everything looked delicioussss

Looking for something better than Portage Bay? Grub’s got it! Loved their ambience and location! Pancakes were soft and fluffy. And we’ll definitely come back for their biscuit sandwiches! Hope they’ll do a biscuits and gravy dish one day… Pork Belly was great, but kind of regretted getting it! So heavy, it coated my mouth, throat, and belly with fat! Wish it came with sauce to cut the grease. Or cut it down to just 1 juicy slice and add other fixings! Must try some other dishes next time. Definitely a nice place to relax and chill on a Saturday morning.

I enjoyed Grub very much. There isn’t much décor, but the simplicity is nice. We called about 20 minutes before we wanted to be seated. For a group of 6 anywhere, there’s usually a wait. The lady on the phone gave us an estimated time and we all showed up, hungry and ready to eat. Service was prompt and friendly. I ordered the beef brisket. The beef was seasoned well, however I could count how many potatoes I had on one hand and have fingers left over. Wished there were more potatoes in the mix. The biscuit was so delish! It was crispy, soft, and had the perfect amount of crumb. I’m happy it didn’t come pre-buttered. The jam on the table wasn’t as good as the biscuit. Let’s just say if you value the flavor of the biscuit, the jam doesn’t compliment. Overall, I wish they offered more menu items with less pork(or more non-pork, meat items). There aren’t many vegetarian items on the menu either. Hey Grub! I’ll be back to grub :)

I hope I don’t offend anybody with this… but it’s true, I have experienced better. The 3rd star is for the location, general ambience and service. Queen Anne was one of my old neighborhoods when I first moved here and it’s a great area. Grub is across the street from Orrapin(Thai) and Chinoise(Pan Asian.) It’s a nice bright restaurant with a small outdoor seating area. I had the chicken sandwich with pesto on brioche. The chicken was not distinctive in any way but it was fine. And who doesn’t love brioche? The fries are good: skin-on potatoes, and are that perfect long length and medium width(total was $ 10.75.) I did pay $ 6.50 for a Rachel’s ginger ale there. While obviously fresh, gingery, unsweet(and local, yay!) it didn’t warrant the price tag. My friend had the macaroni and cheese($ 10) and since I tasted it, I feel I should comment on it. It was neutral in flavor(I could not tell what kind of cheese was even in it. DOH) and it was served in a small cup. For a small $ 10 mac and cheese, it should be superb. Quality over quantity – and it missed its mark. I don’t see myself coming back since my food didn’t make me rub my tummy with delight, and tasting my friend’s food, paired with the pricing… but please, check it out. I may have come in on an off day(we all have them.)
