After being in Seattle for half a year, I decided to find a good salon for my haircut. Read about Hair Skill on Unilocal and called them to schedule for an appointment. I was lucky to be able to schedule for a same-​day appointment an hour from my call on a Saturday morning (called at 11 am, there was availability at noon, 2:30pm, and 5 pm).
Like others said, the salon is not fancy and is in fact quite run-​down. But who cares about being in a fancy salon if you get a woman’s hair cut for only $ 18? The staff was courteous and fast. Moliza was the stylist taking care of me. She took the time to get an idea about what I want, and was open to making changes along the process. She first did a «draft cut» that I thought had room for further trimming, and went on trimming till she got what I wanted. She even curled my hair without charging extra after the haircut was done!
The owners (3 sisters) are stylists Hong Kong who have been doing this for more than 10 years, so you can expect fast and quality service from them. They are so friendly, that they took time to chat with me for a good 10 – 15 minutes after I was done!!!

Since I was in middle school I’ve always gone to Expo down the street from here but my hair stylist was taking a break for health reasons and I needed a haircut right away after putting it off for so long. I found this place on Unilocal and decided to give it a try because of all the positive reviews. The women working there were very friendly! And the woman that cut my hair made sure I was happy with what she was doing before moving on to something else, like asking if the length was okay, etc. She did exactly what I asked for (about two inches off my super long hair, long layers, and leave my bangs alone) but I found myself having to fix some parts when I got home. It wasn’t perfect but for the price, I can’t complain! I usually pay $ 30 at Expo and here I only paid $ 18! I can see myself coming back here if I don’t feel like paying more at my regular salon. Overall, I would recommend this place!

Came to states and always find it is hard to find somewhere descent price with good skill, friend recommended this place, people working there are really nice and friendly, it is not expensive and the important part is that I totally love the hair style they did, would definitely go back often. Highly recommend for asian hair~~

stopped in because it’s highly Unilocaled, legendary and local. the hubs and i waited 20, walked out with two haircuts of the century and a bill of $ 33 total, for the both of us. plus found out that it’s family owned and one of the artists’ kids had my mom as her kindergarten teach. i love this hood. get in here and get your hair cut!!!

I’ve been coming here since High School, 10+ years ago, the sisters are always friendly and welcoming, I get my haircuts, perms, color, etc done by Connie. All three sisters does a pretty good job, but personal preference I think Connie does a fabulous job (maybe because she’s more familiar with my hair, hehe), all in all, if you’re looking for a good and affordable hair salon, this is the place to be!

This place is not fancy looking but I have not been disappointed with any of my haircut since I’ve been going here. I’ve been going here for about 4 years. I have long hair so although it’s been about 3 years, I get my haircut about 3 times a year.
I have never had anyone else cut my hair in the shop except Connie so I cannot comment about the others. Connie does great layers and she’s really accurate when you tell her how many inches you want cut off. Some places go crazy with the scissor and always cut your hair too short and don’t listen to what you want. Connie is really good about that. She’s quick and friendly as well.
This shop does hair coloring and other services too but I’ve only had my haircut here.
I introduced this place to another girlfriend of mine and she liked her trim by Connie as well.

I found this salon through a friend. I have had problems finding a stylist who can make my fine hair look as though it is not plastered to my head! This place is awesome; the salon reflects the price level (inexpensive) but the cut/​styling is on a par with some of the most expensive salons in Seattle (or anywhere else). If you want a fabulous cut and don’t want to break the bank, Hair Skill Design is for you!

Been going here for years. The sisters — Connie, Billy, and Lisa are all superb hair stylists and great people. Prices are very good and the place is nice and comfy. Their parking lot is a tad small, but usually you can find street parking pretty close by.

I’ve gone to this salon since I was a little girl. The owners are all very nice and friendly. Rest assured that they will take care of your hair! I don’t trust any other salons. The prices are very reasonable.
