Hertz Rent A Car

Worst customer service i have ever encountered. This morning our car broke down, we decided to rent a car for the week so we could get to work, and so our family wouldn’t be stranded. Made a reservation online using our AAA Premier account for about an hour later so that my boyfriend would have time to go pick up the car. Though this place is near by without a derivable vehicle he would be busing/​walking to pick up the car. When he arrived at the reservation time, he was told they didn’t have any cars. He told them he was willing to take any car (since he needed to get to work and had taken the time to get there) and they simply told him they had no cars and sent him on his way. No calls to other locations etc. While he spent the next hour walking/​busing his way back home (only to end up late to work) i called and talked to the hertz customer service line. The first lady i spoke to sounded outraged at what had happened, she promised to make it right by finding a car at another location and making sure they got him to that location to pick it up. I assumed this meant a courtesy ride or a taxi reimbursement. Instead I was then transferred to a man that was supposed to make those very arrangements but i immediately knew something was wrong when he couldn’t even access his reservation system and i was put on hold over and over again for about 30 min. Finally once he got done figuring this all out he said he would email the manager of this location about what had happened. I asked him about the car and ride and he told me to hold on again. About twenty min. later and only 25min. from when their locations were closing he told me not to worry he had found a car for us to pick up at another location, problem was we needed to get there before they closed and he didn’t know how he was supposed to help us get there even though that was what the first customer service rep had promised. I told him there was no way we could make it there that quickly since we did not have a working car, and he told me he would cancel the reservation. I asked if i could talk to a supervisor and was hung up on, after sitting on the phone back and for waiting on hold for over an hour. The thing is, had they been straight from the beginning and told me they couldn’t help me i would have called enterprise they are little more expensive but also right down the street and they will come pick you up. The only reason i went with Hertz was because of our AAA premier membership. By the time i got off the phone with Hertz (only to end up still without a car) it was too late to call Enterprise for a car for the night. So all in all, wasted money on a bus, wasted lots of time, didn’t get a car, boyfriend ended up late to work, and got hung up on! Don’t waste your time with this location, what kind of car rental place has no cars on a Wednesday afternoon?
