Fantastic find! Stopped by looking for singing bowls and left with not only a great bowl but also a one-on-one lesson on how to best make it sing. I never felt pressured or overwhelmed by the staff but they were so so helpful. I will certainly be back!!!

Dropped by this hidden gem in Ballard today. They have a great selection of authentic nepali handicrafts. They have a wonderful selection of Hindu/Buddhist statues locally made by Nepali artisans in different types of metal/resin and offers a good range of prices. They have a lot of Thankgka paintings to pick from in different forms and styles and you can also have it ordered to paint in your choice of style. The apparels/acessories are very trendy. The owners are very helpful and knowledable, definitely going back.

I love the knowledge that was shared with me during my time in the store. As I took interest in different items a man(possibly the owner) took the time to explain some things to me about them. I spent quite a bit of time playing the various singing bowls and he explained to me and showed me how the larger bowls make a bigger sound, how to vary the sound, played some bowls for me, taught me some tips for sound healing, and even pulled out a guitar tuner so that we could see what note the bowls played since I was looking for a particular one. Other than the singing bowls they also have statues, carved elephants, rugs, Mala necklaces, silver jewelry, incense and incense burners, clothing, and felt items like dolls, coin purses, and balls for the dryer to use in place dryer sheets.

I stopped in today to this new Ballard shop located at 1708NW Market and spoke with the owner Sushil, newly arrived from Honolulu where he owned Himalayan Treasures. Most of his imports are Nepalese and most of the lovely crafts there are handcrafted by small communities in Nepal. Of particular note(for me) were the exquisite Buddhist Thangka paintings, hand woven fabrics, felted and fabric bags and wonderful felted slippers, but the shop also includes expertly made statues, singing bowls, Himalayan woolen rugs, clothing, fabric, jewelry and Tibetan Buddhist supplies. Frankly I was overwhelmed at the selection and plan on returning regularly to see everything! Sushil is offering 20% off everything in the store during Grand Opening, March, 2015. See you there.
