Their chicken dishes with rice are so good. Chicken satay was great as well, Everything was awesome, and even though 3⁄5 of us hadn’t eaten indo food before, this was a great introduction. Also, our server was nice and we were all over the place with the orders. Like we saw more dishes on the tv which display ads and pictures of food and we wanted more food. At the end of the meal, we had a little bit of food we couldn’t finish but it was great. Parking did suck bc the spaces are tiny.

Five stars! Don’t let this HWY99 Indonesian pit stop fool you – it’s off the chain!!! I would have never stop by this restaurant on my own if it wasn’t for my auntie that recommended it after a full day of setting up a swing set for the nephew. Stop by with two other hungry homies and we devoured everything. We had the fiery rice which was super spicy but so damn good, the coconut rice with beef, the spinach-like greens and the fried sample platter. The best dish was dessert. We ordered this coconut jelly which came out in a whole coconut with the jelly inside and it blew my mind how delicious it was. I ordered an extra to bring home to the fiancé cause I knew she’d be into it. It’s rare when I say I’ll definitely be coming back so check out this restaurant if you’re ever road trippin’ on 99

Their phở is off the charts. Holy cow, I mean, amazing. It’s so phở ey and delish. If you like phở this is the phở place for you. Bring your friends. Have some phở. Don’t bring your friends if they don’t like phở because they’ll be bummed when you are all happy eating your delicious phở and they aren’t.

We hired Indo Café to cater our wedding. We had about 180 guests and there was plenty food for everyone! It was buffet style, so guests served themselves. The Indo Café staff was very professional in their set-up, maintaining the buffet, and cleaning up afterwards. I hardly knew they were there! I had numerous people come up to me during the reception and tell me the food was amazing. We had plenty leftover after the night and as we were packing food in containers, people kept on coming and requesting to take food home! Indo Café did a wonderful job of creating a rich, cultural atmosphere to support our multi-cultural wedding. We are already huge fans of Indo Café and visit the restaurant often, but having them cater our wedding exceeded our expectations and we will recommend them to anyone! Thank you!

As an Indonesian myself, I would occasionally miss food from back home. While the Indonesian food here are westernized and aren’t truly authentic, they still give out the ‘basic’ idea of how Indonesian food taste like. And that’s good enough to satisfy my cravings. I’ve tried many things on their menu(not pictured :() but I would highly recommend«Bakmi Goreng Jawa,» and«Es Cendol.» If you have never tried Indonesian food before, definitely check this place out!

Delicious variety of food, inexpensively priced and very clean restaurant. There appear to be many items that are gluten free or for vegetarians. This food is similar to Thai food of years past. Salty, spicy and full of flavor. Not like today’s Thai food that is laced with sugar to appease the American pallet. I’ve eaten collard greens before but never like this restaurant makes them. Cooked in coconut milk, these greens are mild and sweet with no bitter aftertaste. Save room for desert. We ordered the avocado ice cream and the coconut pudding served in a coconut. Yum. We will be back.

The corn fritter that came with my warm Indonesian salad was one of the tastiest things I’ve ever eaten. The salad was similar to Swimming Rama, and being a total wimp, I couldn’t eat the fried whole egg slathered in a spicy sauce, but the price was incredibly reasonable and overall delicious. Hope I make it up this way again! Totally worth crossing traffic on Aurora for. Yum!

30 min before they close the server came to our table to ask us if we want to order anything else before they close their kitchen which I thought was really nice! The service and food are pretty good! I usually get the chicken with crispy toppings and bakmi jawa. The only disappointing thing was the rice, it was dry. But other than that its an awesome place to go for that South east asian cuisine :))

service was nice, you will feel so much better if you are indonesian. Its a big nation here. The food was good, the recommendations from the waiter was a thumb up. For a rice dish, replace it with coconut rice, its the best!!!

If this is how Indonesian food is, I wouldn’t mind coming here more often. For my last meal in Seattle, my friends let me decide where to do. Problem was that they kind of planted the seed that they wanted to go to Indo. In fact, they mentioned if they can’t figure out what they want to eat, they usually end up at Indo Café. I wanted something that kind of reminded me of my own cuisine, because for some reason, I wasn’t in a daring mood to try something different, so I stuck with the Nasi Goreng Uduk. I like how the dish kind of brought me back to my own family’s cooking, except with a different flavoring to it, like more spices were added to the dish. Would love to come back here more often when I’m back in town.

Ordered ayam mbok berek with bihun bakso. Taste ok. They brought us waters, but there were floaties in it, dirt, or something. As my husband eat his meal, there was piece of brown paper towel on his food.

Came here a few times for Indonesian food. They have unique and authentic dishes and have some private rooms for larger groups.

Parking space 3⁄5. Very little spot to share with 4 other businesses like nail salon and massage parlor.

After hearing much about Indo Café from friends, decided to come here for a quick late lunch/early dinner meal. For anyone who hasn’t been here before, please be aware that the parking lot is super small and tight. Surprisingly, the inside is a lot bigger than I thought. Since my mom and I came here at an odd hour(3 ish pm), the place was pretty much empty, so grabbing a table was quick and easy. The menu was quite extensive, with a broad range of appetizers, noodles, rice, drinks, and desserts. Most of the food had a brief description and some had pictures. Both of us had never tried Indonesian food before so we based our decisions on the yummy looking pictures of Unilocal and the server’s recommendations. Overall, food presentation and the quantity of food was great. The food looked on point, and the quantity was big enough to bring home leftovers. However, quantity does not make up for quality… The dish I ordered was quite lack luster in its overall taste. Called the Nasi Kuning Komplit, this dish came with: coconut rice, fried chicken, spicy egg, fried anchovies, and onion flavored crackers. The crackers itself didn’t have much flavor and for the fried chicken, it was just your standard fried chicken taste that you can get anywhere. I did try my best to locate some of the fried anchovies to munch on but to my dismay, there were more chips mixed into the plate than there were anchovies. As for the rice, it was definitely a heavier taste of herbs vs coconut. I thought the spicy egg was a pretty unique concept. It’s like deep fried egg that gets slathered with this sweet and spicy like sauce on it. A couple of other dishes tasted alright. My mom ordered the popular combo plate that came with corn fritter, stir fried veggies, spicy egg, yellow rice and an option of fried chicken(there are other various options one can choose from). The veggies and egg were so so, and the rice lacked any real depth of taste to it. Fried chicken was fried chicken and the corn fritter was unique with its potato and corn like taste. We did order an appetizer but by the time it came out with our main entrees, we didn’t have much room for it. Called the risoles, this is the Indonesian version of an eggroll that’s stuffed with chicken, peas, carrots and such. Served with a tasty peanut like sauce, this appetizer can be quite filling if you’re not a huge eater. Prices here are pretty affordable and service was a bit slow(despite the restaurant being half empty). If you want to try out this place, I highly recommend coming here during lunch or happy hour, where some of the popular menu items are offered at a discounted rate. Not sure on portions but at least the option of different food is there. :]

I’ve been going to Indo Café for a few years because the food here is better than my mom’s home cooked Indonesian meals(sorry, mom!). While my mom makes killer rendang and soto ayam, Indo Café has really good bakmi goreng Jawa, spicy fried chicken(ayam goreng balado), and batagor. Some of the dishes are hit or miss, but the three dishes above are always consistently on point and service is always friendly. The owner and wait staff are Indonesian, and they’re always happy to chat about Indonesia and/or Indo food. I also really like the rendang here, which is slightly different from my mom’s homemade rendang. Even if you’re not Indonesian or have never tried Indonesian food, this is a good spot to try if you like Asian food. Start with the bakmi goreng Jawa and rendang if you’re less adventurous. I like to come here for lunch whenever I can, because it’s such a good deal(less than $ 8!) and the portion is generous. Happy hour is also full of good deals, although nothing on the menu is outrageously expensive to begin with. The place is casual and generally busy, but never too crowded. They also have a private dining room that you can reserve if you have a bigger group(10+). The only downside is probably the area. I like their old location in Northgate much better. There’s not much else in this area(other than Krispy Kreme!) and they have a small parking lot that they share with a few other businesses.

I happened to find a Groupon for this place, and was intrigued by the idea of Indonesian food. Therefore, I wound up at Indo Café on an arbitrary weeknight. The restaurant is tucked away in an inconspicuous corner of a strip mall on Aurora Ave, so it’s fairly easy to miss(I had to circle twice before I finally turned into the correct lot). Once you find it, you’re greeted by a spacious restaurant with clean, simple décor. I’ve never seen the place overcrowded, but I’ve never seen it empty either. To start out, we got the appetiser sampler tray. It had two Lumpia, two Pangsit Goreng, two Tempe Mendoan, and one Risoles. All of these are traditional Indonesian dishes that I had never had before. I really enjoyed the Risoles and Lumpia in particular. I got the Mie Ayam Spesial for my main course, which was rather underwhelming after the delicious appetisers. It was just not as flavourful as I expected, and it really paled in comparison to the beef curry my boyfriend devoured in record time. Oh well, it was a swing and a miss. For dessert, we shared the Es Teler, which is an interesting take on jelly-based desserts(and way better than plain Jello!). I would certainly come back here as prices are fair, portions are large, and the food is generally tasty. I will just stay away from the Mie Ayam as an entrée next time.

Randomly decided to come here after work and I’m glad I did! The food was so bomb! And the service was great, fast and friendly! Me and my friend ordered the pangsit kuah and bihun noodles. Both were super good, Mmm. I really liked the noodles! I’m a huge noodle fan and this dish was on point! I’m definitely coming back here again! :3

We’ve been going to Indo for several years now and I’ve been remiss in writing a much-needed review for them! Service has always been solid with clean tables and excellent food. Speaking of their food, we’ve enjoyed many dishes here so I’ll namecheck some of our favourites: * Gado-Gado — an Indonesian-style warm salad with tofu, boiled egg slices, and krupuk. If you love peanut sauce, this salad is topped with their homemade peanut sauce! * Toge Cah Terasi — stir-fried bean sprouts and fried tofu with spicy shrimp chili paste. Vegetarians can request no shrimp paste but I’m unsure if they can guarantee it to be vegan. * Bakwan Malang — a soup made with fine rice noodles in a light broth with wonton, tofu, and meatballs. I’ve enjoyed this when I was feeling under the weather and it was wonderfully soothing. * Bakmi Goreng Jawa: a delicious Javanese style sweet stir-fry egg noodles with your choice of protein. We opt for chicken or beef, but I can also recommend the fried tofu. This dish is my husband’s favourite. * Rendang Sapi — a tender dry beef curry slow-cooked in coconut sauce with egg and topped with krupuk. * Ayam Goreng Mbok Berek — Javanese fried chicken topped with deep fried crispy crumbs. * Nasi Gila Menteng — this is also listed on their menu as «Crazy Rice» — stir-fried chicken, turkey frank slices, and beef meatballs in special sauce over rice topped with krupuk. This is MY favourite! Several of their menu items are offered as rijsttafel(literal translation to «rice table»). Basically imagine a combination plate and that’s basically what rijsttafel is. Their HH menu is small but if you love their Bakwan Jagung(corn fritters) or Pangsit Goreng(fried chicken wonton), you can snag those for a mere $ 3 each! There are also some desserts on the HH menu like Pisang Goreng(fried banana) and Es Cendol, one of my favourites made with green rice gelatin, jackfruit in coconut milk, and Javanese brown sugar. I can only think of one downside to Indo Café: they share a parking lot with a couple other shops so parking can be scarce when they are busy. No wait, they don’t deliver… but then again, that could be a boon to our wallets.

Woooooooow, how did I not know about this place all my life?!? I was craving Indonesian food and was searching on Unilocal. We came here since it opened late and I’m so glad I discovered this place. It was definitely a drive from our place but well worth it. I got the Nasi Padang which is a mixed rice plate with collard greens. I’m not a huge fan of vegetables but the collard greens was good. I had redang which is like slow cooked beef and their crispy fried chicken for my son. We’re all pretty picky with our food but my son really liked the fried chicken and ate most of it! I really enjoyed the redang, it reminded me of my friend’s grandma who used to make it. Indo Café has great comfort food.

I’ve been coming here for about 5 – 6 years, back to when it was still in NorthGate. The food is truly amazing, very authentic! Can’t go wrong with anything on my the menu really. I love the beef stew, although wish it was more ‘stew-y’ than ‘soup-y’. Ask for coconut rice to go with it! Rendang Sapi is always great! My only note to management is the ridiculous $ 1 charge for a tiny extra house hot sauce. Really?! I’m spending $ 35 and you charge me $ 1 for a tiny little container of sauce??! Either bump up the size, or do the 0.25−0.50 cents like all other restaurant do. $ 1 just feel disrespectful for the amount you get. I’m still giving it 5 stars because the food IS amazing and always hits the spot!
