I had a colonoscopy by Dr. Harper on 28 July, which went without a hitch. His bedside manner was friendly and assuring. During the pre-colonoscopy examination, I was impressed with both his keen and inquiring mind and his excellent surgeon’s hands. He is young, but appears superbly able. He has performed over 600 colonoscopies, without a perforation. I would recommend him without reservations. I also find no merit in the one star rating, given by a woman with self-admitted mental health issues. Jason Harper is an excellent physician.

I’ve seen Dr. Harper twice. The first time was at the office and he went over treatment options regarding my recurrent nausea and GERD. He was very open to answering questions and very knowledgeable. He noted that if I continue having heartburn and dyspepsia despite diet changes and taking my omperazole then possibly get an upper endoscopy. Today I had my upper endoscopy and was quite nervous, given the prior review. The upper endoscopy was taken care of by a staff team member involving nurses and Dr. Harper himself. He discussed procedural risks and explained what would happen during the procedure including the monitoring of the drugs used to make sure it is safe. The nurses had a difficult time accessing my veins so I did get poked a few times, but aside from that, they made every effort to make me feel comfortable and ensured I had all of my questions answered. I felt drowsy after but that was explained me beforehand. The procedure found nothing significant but it did give me a huge sense of relief that nothing terrible like Barrett’s or cancer was there, given that my mom had passed from cancer about a decade ago.

I had a procedure done by Dr. Harper at the hospital. Unfortunately, due to that experience, I need to update my review and change it to 1 star to help others avoid the type of situation I went through. The doctor passed me while I was getting off the elevator at the hospital and he was going in at the time I was required to check-in. After checking in and going through the process to be prepped, they told me they couldn’t begin because Dr. Harper hadn’t shown up yet. I mentioned that I had passed him in the elevator. Some time passed. The nurses were calling him on his cell. They called their boss and others. A nurse came to tell me that they weren’t allowed to take me back to the procedure room per their supervisor until the doctor arrived and talked with me first. We waited some more. Finally, 45 minutes late, Dr. Harper arrived with a flushed face, in street clothes, to go over the procedure with me. I have PTSD, and being in a hospital is pure hell for me. Knowing that I was about to undergo anesthesia at the hands of someone who wasn’t being responsible really frustrated me. In addition to this, when I asked about the main reason of why I was having the procedure, and Dr. Harper informed me that he wasn’t able to do anything about that issue because he didn’t have the skill, I was irate. When I woke up after the procedure, I had a busted, swollen lip. Then I received the bills. $ 500 for the first visit to see the doctor where zero procedures, medications or anything else occurred. He just talked with me. That is ridiculous. I called his office and complained to the billing department, who stated it is what it is.
