The Jefferson course has acted as a gathering place for the Beacon Hill community for decades. It has provided a place for all ages to go play a fairly easy 18 holes and now enjoy a newly renovated double deck driving range. The facility is operated by the City of Seattle Parks department and is a PGC course so it does have a different feel now post renovation than it did before. Yes, it is newer, cleaner, and more state of the art with its updated look but it has lost a large element of the community comfort that it had before. It certainly comes with the territory of Beacon Hill moving towards a higher end residential neighborhood of Seattle but I would say the views from the course and the experience provided at the driving range meet expectation for a place to go practice, nothing more and nothing less. The café is also fairly expensive for the food though their beer selection was pretty good.

Please don’t move to Beacon Hill — why? Because this is our hidden gem in Seattle. Jefferson Park really is a world class park and driving range. The new club house and two tiered driving range are beautiful. I think we’re going to need more parking…

Still in the process of remodeling but I bet the range is going to be beautiful once it’s complete. The machine was broken so we had to walk across the street to purchase tickets for balls. Kind of annoying, but hopefully they’ll come up with a more convenient solution once everything is complete. The weekday lunch hour is the perfect time to go since it’s not very busy at all.

Irons only right now but still a great place to get a feel for your clubs. I am a new golfer and Jefferson has enough mats where you can just spread out and not feel like you’re being judged lol. The ground does slope toward the back, but maybe you want a challenge haha.

Get yo’ big bucket o’ balls here! I’m not a very good golfer. I have a terrible short game, reminiscent of Happy Gilmore. But I will tell you that when I need to relax, driving a ball at mach 3 is a good way to chill. For about $ 10, I get a giant bucket of balls and go to the second level and send balls(to the moon, Alice!) And for me, the best time to come is twilight. Sometimes it’s busy on warm evenings, but oftentimes, you have plenty of elbow room and in between swings, you can listen to the calming thwack of other drivers out there with you. It’s even calming when it’s raining out, since you get to stand under cover. Jefferson Park; you’re all a person needs!
