The red beans and rice and jambalaya here are so delicious.

I’m not going to write a long review. There is no reason to do so. This truck is elite when it comes to a delicious meal that you would never think was made in a truck this is the place to go. I got the sampler and every bite was simply amazing I truly mean this. The blackened catfish on top of the jambalaya and beans and rice wtf 2 much goodness overload bruh I swear. Just go here and thank me later.

5 for the food and the kindness. I was going to pay with my credit card and it didn’t go through and I didn’t have enough cash so the lady who was working there just gave me lunch without charging. Thank you! I will come back and pay you. Food is very good. I had the shrimp etoufee. Very balanced and flavorful

We had Jemi’s cater our rehearsal dinner and it was fabulous! We reached out to Jemil’s because we knew we wanted a food truck and their food is so good. I reached out to Jemil’s about 9 months out to get some information and Samantha was very helpful. The pricing for what you get can’t be beat. When we had our tasting, we were able to try anything they had on the truck that day but Samantha informed us that any changes we needed would be accommodated — such as food allergies, adding salad, shrimp & grits, anything we needed. Two months before our rehearsal dinner I was informed that Samantha was leaving to another position and Diane would be the new contact. This slightly concerned me because of how close we were to the event and working with Samantha had been so great. In the end, Diane ended up working out fine but not without some frustrations. Planning a wedding and a rehearsal dinner is a lot of stress so it is nice when vendors are responsive and keep to the scheduled meetings. If you do end up choosing Jemil’s to cater your event, just give yourself some lead time and be patient. Everything worked out perfectly in the end. On the night of the rehearsal dinner, the food truck showed up on time and with all the food we were promised: salad, dessert, water/tea/coffee station, shrimp & grits, and all the food listed on the food truck menu. All of our guests RAVED about the food. It was delicious and the staff was very friendly to all our guests.

So ridiculously delish. Just the right amount of heat and spices. Had the blackened shrimp and will definitely be back to sample some of their other dishes! Reasonably priced and quick and friendly service!

Tasty cajun fare. decent prices. i think the value isn’t quite there for 5 stars, and the taste is really 4 – 4.5 stars. so left it at 4 stars. Good lunch option, although the wait tends to be quite long.

Every time I see Jemil’s food truck at Westlake, people line up before they even open. Got in line around noon and the line was at least 12 deep but I really wanted to try them and the menu looked pretty good too from Po’ Boys, Etouffes, Gumbo, Jambalayas, Blackened fish, fried goodies etc. I decided to get their Catfish Po’Boy Sandwich, pretty good sandwich, fried catfish, heavily seasoned, good amount of lettuce & tomato with their remoulade sauce all served on a crusty bread. My co-worker got the Chicken Po’Boy and she liked it very much too. We also shared some fried okra, salty but tasty! They go pretty heavy handed on the salt and seasoning. Po’Boys are a nice size and definitely filling. Depending on the meat you get, the sandwiches can range from $ 10-$ 13. Even though the line is long, the food didnt take very long to make, staff was nice & friendly and work hard to crank out the orders.

Humans are creatures of habit. Even from a very early age, humans will demonstrate a desire to follow a routine. This food truck parks itself near my office every Tuesday from 11:00AM — 2:00PM. Every Tuesday, almost without fail, I wander down the street and get in line, and order a medium gumbo. Some food trucks have absurd lines. I don’t have time for that nonsense! This truck does not — at least not on Tuesdays. I think I have had to wait a maximum of 15 minutes from getting in line to getting my food. Totally acceptable! The service is quick and efficient, and the employees are great. I’ve also brought some friends here as well, and they’ve all really enjoyed it. What do I not like? When I first started going(perhaps a year ago), it seemed as though the gumbo was chock-full of sausage and chicken, with a limited amount of rice at the bottom. The medium seemed to be an adequate portion to keep me sustained throughout the afternoon. More recently, I feel as thought the portion sizes overall have decreased, with an increased percentage of rice and decreased percentage of sausage and chicken. Needless to say, I am disappointed by this development. Furthermore, the prices also increased recently, yet the quality and quantity of food continued at the declined levels. I am a creature of habit, like most humans. That being said, I am not going to stand for the perceived decline in quality and quantity of my precious gumbo, so last time I order jambalaya instead. It was better than the recent gumbo but not as good as the gumbo that I first ordered.

Holy Sauce this fried shrimp po-boy is is like a party in my mouth… It was my first time at Jemil’s truck today, and now I know why the line was hella long. It is worth the wait. I almost wish I hadn’t tried it because now I will crave it like a po-boy fiend. Dawmn you Jemil’s! Dawmmmmmm youuuuuuuu!!!

Oh man, every time Jemil’s comes by, you know where I’m going. Having grown in for most of my life in the south, I’ve been craving my comfort food. Now, having it so close to where I work is awesome. When you go up to take your order, they greet you and make you feel as if you’re a part of their family. Service is very fast and reasonable, even if there’s a long line so don’t let that scare you off! It’s definitely worth the wait. The portions for their food is very healthy for what you pay. When you first see your etouffe or jambalaya, it might seem kind of small. However, the food is very dense and packed with flavor you’ll be full for sure. Their Muffaleta is amazing as well. You get a sandwich that’s HUUUGE. Layered with multiple types of meat and cheese grilled on a toasted bun, it’s a great option if you’re feeling really hungry. I only wish that they had beignets on the truck. Maybe someday: DD I could go on and on about the food that they have. Trust me, if you see this truck, go for it. You can’t go wrong with anything on their menu.

I’d recommend the Cajun Sampler with Blackened Catfish, but if you’ve got some money burning a hole in your pocket the Gumbo is also a MUST! Hope to drop by again to try the okra! Cajun Spicy Combo — Blackened Catfish, Jambalaya, and Beans/Rice($ 9) — 4⁄5. Yum! What a surprisingly large portion that’s absolutely tasty as well. Jambalaya had a variety of spices. Blackened catfish was right at the perfect point where it’s blackened, but not carcinogenic. Beans and rice was average. Without a doubt, this is my recommendation Gumbo($ 8) — 4⁄5. Award winning gumbo? This is a definite must have and I can see why it’s so well rated and won awards. Very different layers of flavors from the smoked sausage and chicken shreds. It’s a hot mess that’s served over rice. The only downside is that it seems pricy for the portion size.

I will never be going back! We were the first people in line to order and we ordered pretty simple things two Po boys one crawfish one plain shrimp with no sauce(see picture) one okra and one hush puppies. THIRTYMINUTESLATER they give us our food and the plain shrimp Po boy has everything and probably extra sauce and because it took so long to get that I couldn’t have them fix it although who knows if they would have even gotten it right that time. This isn’t the first time we’ve been here and it isn’t even the first time they’ve gotten my order wrong but seriously? How hard is it to not put something on a sandwich? The only reason I even gave it 2 stars is because the fried okra is pretty good. Over priced, crappy customer service and a horrible wait time. The food really isn’t even worth it.

I tried Jemil’s for the first time last Sunday. Today is only Tuesday and I’ve gone back there twice already! I had following menu items in the last 3 days and I loved every single item, down to every bite! Beans and rice — the beans were SO good. What do they do make the beans taste so damn good? Cajun spicy combo — red beans, jambalaya and a piece of blackened cat fish. Jambalaya was spicy but had a great depth in flavor. Blackened catfish was perfectly done. Chicken étouffée — it was SPICY but again, delicious. If you don’t like spicy, I would stay away from this. Oyster po boy — this was my most favorite of all!!! Oysters were crispy, the sauce was good and the sandwich was not soggy like some other ones I have had in the past. I might go back to get this again tomorrow! :-) This is my new favorite place to eat!!! Highly recommended!!!

Hands down my new favorite food truck in town. Fast, accepts credit cards, and amazing flavors = win. I had the blackened shrimp Po’boy and hush puppies, and my cousin had the jambalaya and Cajun fries. I loved every messy bite of my sandwich — it was so flavorful with just the right amount of spicy tang that I quickly regretted not buying a water or drink to go with it! The hush puppies were everything I was looking for and the remoulade was just right in flavor and consistency. I tried my cousins Cajun fries and they were a nice twist on a classic. She enjoyed her jambalaya as well. I only wish they offered a jambalaya without sausage so I could have tried it «nawleans style.» The meal was so satisfying that it kept me feeling satiated well past the dinner hour and left me craving more very soon.

Fantastic food but a little too pricey considering it’s a food truck. I loved the combo with the jambalaya, beans and blackened catfish. Also got an additional side of catfish. The meal portion is decent but the catfish is really small for the price. I’ll probably go back here because the food is good but not as often as I would have liked to had the prices for the portion size been better.

I’m afraid with this one, I found this truck disappointing. I went to this one at the Everett Street Food Festival and got the catfish and chips. I was very interested because I LOVE catfish. Unfortunately, nothing worked very well. The fish was under-fried and under-seasoned. There wasn’t a whole heck of a lot of it either. It came with frozen french fries that were generously covered with a seasoning salt. The fries were only mediocre as well. It also came with two sauces. The menu didn’t describe them. One seemed to be a remoulade sauce and the other one seemed to be a fruit or a mango sauce. The sauces were good, but not enough to compensate, especially since i don’t know what they were. I think something had a lot of garlic in it, but I couldn’t be sure. I was also a bit unsatisfied in terms of the price. For $ 9 I got a rather small paper boat that wasn’t overflowing by any means. With trucks, I tend to expect a better value. Just one guy’s opinion.

I have nothing but good things to say about Jemil’s! In the Seattle downtown area on Tuesdays, this food truck is a popular choice for my office. Menu items are a bit on the pricier side for lunch — but what do you expect when you work downtown? I always keep an eye out for their daily specials, which they post on their Facebook page. My favorite has to be the crawfish mac & cheese — delish! This truck tends to get a huge line during lunch, so my advice is to go early if you can. They also moved to a new downtown location — 7th and Pine.

I cant believe I didnt review this place yet. This is my favorite food truck in WA and I have tried a lot of food truck. Everything here is great but if I had to recommend, stick to their grilled offerings over fried. Both good but their non fried dishes were better.
