The underground area of the Grande Central Arcade was definitely a cool revelation for me, and I liked visiting this little studio on First Thursday. Juan Alonso does ink + graphite on clayboard. It’s a medium that resembles a giant tile, and the results are beautiful. Alonso uses some abstract shapes some more masculine and others feminine that connect and form some symmetry and unity(or at least that’s my interpretation). It’s really difficult to describe this artwork without seeing it, but, the colors like blacks, pinks, and golds bring me some peace. Pieces range from $ 100-$ 3000, and there are also even cheaper prints available as well. Drop by for some wine on First Thursday and check out some very novel works… Exploring the rest of the Grande Central Arcade is worthwhile too. I’ll be back to check out the vintage guitars place across from this studio… Support the arts. Peace.
