Moved to Seattle and needed a haircut. So I surfed Unilocal to help find a Barber Shop in the area. Came across Julie’s shop and House of Gents. I read her reviews… checked out their website and made an appointment for the same day. I showed up as scheduled and was welcomed into a very hip Shop. Julie is very nice, friendly and has been doing this for years. I sat in her chair and explained to Julie how I use to get my haircut and wanted something low maintenance and easy. I also wanted to hear thoughts and ideas. She gave me some ideas and I told her she could have at it. Did I mention that she even served me a beer while all this is going on… I had her turn my chair so I couldn’t see what she was doing and I got to people watch out the window. All I got to say was… WOW!!! I was amazed and excited that I had a new look and I landed me a new place to get my hair cut. She also allows you to go back for FREE Cleanups. Julie thank you very much… I will see you soon. Dennis

Before I went to Julie, I didn’t care very much about my hair. Now that I found Julie, I know that hair matters, and I would go to no one else. I have strayed and tried other gentlemen’s barber shops, and she is tops. The women in my life comment on my hair, and until you’ve had such a comment, you have no idea how cool that is. People look at me differently at work, and that feels good, too — I seem to have more personal power. Julie is detailed and cares greatly about the quality of her work. Everything matters down to the finest detail. Julie makes a difference in my life. Try Julie, you will be glad you did, and you’ll become a loyal customer like me. Thanks Julie!

I was very fortunate to have discovered Julie back when she was working at Capelli’s. Although they were considered a «high-end» men’s barbershop, my first experience there(not with Julie) was terrible; I had one of the worst haircuts ever, and it wasn’t only my hair that got cut! Fortunately, I ended up going to Julie and have stuck with her ever since. It just goes to show that the barber counts more than the barbershop. I followed Julie to her next establishment. Even though the place was a dump(which she thankfully has now left), I still got the same quality haircuts from Julie. Julie now works at the House of Gents in Belltown, a short walk from the downtown core where she used to work. It’s a nice establishment, friendly, with decent-quality free coffee and a comfortable waiting area, and of course the same great haircuts. Julie is very experienced, extremely friendly and easy to talk to, and pays a lot of attention to detail. Just don’t plan on coming here if you’re in a hurry and want a quick 10 – 15 minute haircut.

When Julie moved her chair to its current location I followed her as I’ve always liked my cuts and the attention she gives. That hasn’t changed at all. Julie is talented and cares about the results. Her new salon is not as high-end as Capellis but she makes you feel right at home.

I followed Julie to Harper’s Hair Studio because after getting cuts from Julie at her previous location, not only did my wife compliment the look, but a neighbor even went out of her way to tell me how much she liked it. After a lifetime of haircuts that were, shall we say, more functional than aesthetic, these comments are definitely a welcome experience. Thank you, Julie!
