Kam’s Auto

I actually wrote a review and then removed it after they agreed to apologize to all my Facebook friends. Then after getting paid, Jessica Moran (the sleazy wife of the even sketchier owner) started messaging my sister telling her that I was a «very dishonest person» So here’s the story again and this time the review won’t be going anywhere and if I need to re-​post it week after week then so be it.
Over the summer I had some work done by Kam. I had written a personal check like I had done with them before. Unfortunately my employer bounced a series of paychecks to me and the rest of the staff leaving me to resign being owed about 3k. But anyway, different review.
This no doubt caused several financial problems for me including the check I wrote them to be returned. At NO point in my attempt to find other employment did Kam or Jessica attempt to call me, even though they had my current phone number because that’s what they used to confirm the appointment, nor did they send any notice in the mail and to be honest they just fell to the back of the line behind rent and food. They claim that they attempted several times to come to my home and notify me. This is an ABSOLUTE LIE! They never came by, never left a note or anything. Eventually Kam stopped by my home and was writing my VIN number down when my dogs let me know someone was out there. He told me he would have stopped by had he been in the neighborhood at any point, but he wasn’t and he didn’t. At no point did I ever try to «hide from them» as Jess claims, even though she was never there. I apologized and made a $ 100 payment and arrangements to pay the remainder within 30 days. Kam seemed to understand and agreed to the terms.
THEN!!! About 2 weeks later I started getting calls and messages from My Facebook friends saying that Jessica had messaged them and said «tell your friend Justin S****** to PAY KAM“S AUTO! We will be pressing charges if its not paid!»
Needless to say I was pretty enraged at their blatantly illegal act of attempting to collect a debt, one that had been settled with arrangement. I filed a complaint with the Attorney Generals office as well as the BBB and told them that I would not be making any further payments till Jessica personally messaged everyone that she contacted and apologized for being so unprofessional. Kam agreed that she was out of line and unprofessional and I’ll post screen shots of our text conversation. So the deadline came and she hadn’t contacted anyone. When I said I wouldn’t pay till they apologize he threatened to come to my house because in his words «I know where you live» and yes I have proof of that too. After back and forth texting he realized that he did not intimidate me and if he wanted his money he was going to have to make her do what he said he would. So in one sweep all on one day, way after they agreed, they sent out apologies that stated «I wanted to apologize for involving you in Justin S******‘s personal business». Done and they got paid in full.
Then 6 months later she starts telling my sister, again on FB, to watch out for me and that I’m dishonest and stating that «contacting my friends worked and they got their money, so we did the right thing».
STAY AWAY FROM THESE PEOPLE!!! Read the other reviews and think twice! Soon after I write this I guarantee that she will respond insulting me just like she did the other reviews and revealing my personal financial info, that’s why I spelled it all out here. She is an extremely nasty person and has no social skills let alone basic customer service. Best of luck if you do decide to go with them. You’ve been warned!

Last winter I scheduled two different appointments with Kam’s auto, and both times there was a no-​show with no heads-​up.
Now, I can’t even get them on the phone. I’ve left several un-​returned voice mails.
Thank god they have not worked on my car and no money has been exchanged, because if something went wrong I’m sure I’d be screwed.
Although we’ve yet to do business (through no fault of my own), I wanted to write this review as a warning to others who may be considering using Kam’s in the future.
They are unresponsive and they don’t follow through.

I have plenty of patience. That’s why I gave you guys another shot after the aforementioned no-​shows last winter.
I’m sorry you didn’t like my review and it’s unfortunate that you insult your prospects by calling them «sad.»
In the future, rather than calling to berate your prospects for reviews you don’t like, attempt to understand what went wrong and try to make it better. I’m not the only one who’s had problems with your customer service, so you’d be wise to take the advice.
Being a small family business is a selling point, not an excuse for poor service.

I had Kam come do a head gasket replacement on my car. He came out when he said he would. seemed to know what he was doing (cant say the same for his helper) & did the job in a reasonable time.
However, when the job was done my heat didnt work anymore, the engine had light topend leakage and the oil dipstick was broken.
When i called to have my guarenteed work checked out by them, Jessica said she could send him out to check but it would cost me some $ 70 evaluation fee. WTF! I told her to have him come take a look and never got a call back again. I’ve called and texted a few times since w no luck.
Remember: Cheaper isnt better. Yes he did do the initial job, but not to satisfaction and caused other probs w engine. If you do use him, get a contract and make him sign it.

2 times I had confirmed an appointment with them and 2 times Kam’s auto didn’t show up for the appointment. This resulted in 2 wasted days of my time. If they do not care about showing about for an appointment then I would highly doubt their level of expertise in repairing cars or if you wanted them to repair something under «warranty» if they would answer your phone call or acknowledge your request.
No phone call was given of the cancellation nor was my phone call returned. I advise you not to use them as there are plenty of other good mechanics around the Seattle area.
If I could give them 0 or negative star’s I would. All it takes is a phone call to say «Hi, can we reschedule?» or say «I am sorry, we do not handle those types of repairs.»
