Katya Gudaeva

This review is from Nadia P. (Derek’s wife): Katya did my wedding hair and makeup in September and I absolutely love her work and professionalism. I loved how I looked and it made my wedding day that much more special. Katya fully understood the type of makeup and hairstyle I wanted and knew how to make it even better. She was extremely punctual and professional from start to finish. She also did my bridesmaids hair and makeup and they all loved the work that she did. I would highly recommend her work.

Katya was my hair and makeup artist on my wedding last July and I can think of so many reasons why she deserves a five-​star rating, but I’ll just sum them up into three–
1. She completely understood my vision for the look I was going for and knew exactly how to execute it.
It’s easy to find pegs online for a look you’re going for but to actually have it done on you, with your own features, is another story. I sent Katya a picture of the kind of eye make up I wanted on my wedding day and she explained that because I had a different eye shape from the model, she would have to do the make up a bit differently so we can achieve a similar look. She is so good at what she does and really thinks and plans things through so that as a bride, I did not have to. My hair also came out so beautifully! During the wedding ceremony, I noticed my husband wouldn’t look at me directly and so I asked him why later on. (I thought he didn’t like how I looked.) He said, «You were so beautiful that whenever I looked at you, I couldn’t help but cry so I had to keep looking away to keep my composure.» My husband said my make up look so flawless and so natural, which was exactly what I wanted. That’s all thanks to Katya’s work! :)
2. She is so professional.
She came at the exact time we agreed upon, and mind you, our call time was 5:30 in the morning. But she came at exactly 5:30, and was ready to work. She managed her time well, going back and forth between me and my maid of honor so that no time was wasted and we could leave for the church right on time. I know she’s done work for a lot of big names, but she’s so down to earth and made me feel so at ease. I could tell she gives every job she takes her full effort, whether it be a celebrity or a bride.
3. She responds promptly!
While looking for a hair and make up artist for my big day, it was only Katya who responded immediately among all the people I contacted. That’s so important to me. In the weeks leading up to our wedding, she made sure to respond to my emails right away so I didn’t have to worry that she would back out at the last minute.
I know I haven’t left a lot of reviews on Unilocal for businesses, but I just had to take the time to write this review for Katya. I’m so happy to hear she started a business focusing on bridal hair and make up and I do wish her the best on that. I can’t stress enough how amazing she is and having her as your hair and makeup artist on your big day is something you’ll be so thankful for! Thank you, Katya! :)

Katya is an exceptional make-​up artist. Prompt, professional, pleasant, and a perfectionist – all the qualities you want in someone providing the type of service she provides. She did my wedding make-​up on short notice in February 2015 and I am so grateful I found her and that she was available. She traveled to my location twice (trial make-​up day + event day). Her fees are commensurate with what you’d expect for this service in a major metropolitan area. Further, she was far and away an improvement over other experiences had that week with other service providers on this site (Pink’s) who seem to get five stars from their clients but did not, in my experience, provide five star service (in fact, far from it). Katya deserves each one of these stars and I recommend her heartily!
