The guy who works here gives such exceptional service, I needed to boost their ratings. He’s very thoughtful and pleasant, which isn’t always easy to find in hospitality. It makes for a very enjoyable dining experience and I never have to wait long for my food. The gyoza is my fave., give it a try and you won’t regret it!

Ok. So I was immediately discouraged by the flies circling outside and the overwhelming smell of hot garbage, but I figured that was just Broadway. We were trying to go to the place next door, but it was closed and my 5y/o needed to eat something before turning into a low-blood-sugar monster. First, though, my daughter needed to use the restroom. So we both went before ordering. As I was using the bathroom, I started to notice little black specks everywhere. Little black rodent droppings, to be specific. They were all over the floor of the bathroom and I now had the fun job of trying to convince my daughter to touch even less of the public bathroom surfaces than she usually does. I told her we couldn’t eat there, because there were rats or mice somewhere, and she said, «but I LIKE rats! I don’t care! We only had a small window of time before we had to be somewhere, and there was nothing else close enough for my whiny 5y/o to walk to, so I decided to give the restaurant a chance despite the rodent droppings(and the black layer of scum which covers all of the restaurant’s carpeted surfaces, save for a rectangle where the welcome mat used to be and along the edges), and just get some food in my daughter before we had to rush off. I also ordered myself a bi bim bap, but then I could barely eat it because 1. I couldn’t stop picturing the rat turds in the bathroom and wondering which surfaces of my food they had crawled over. 2. It was not good tasting. 3. There was a sliver of a plastic drink lid tucked into my bowl, among the jicama slices. I can only assume that some well-meaning chef mistook the curve of white plastic for a slice of white jicama — they did resemble each other. I can safely say that I will never ever go back to King’s Teriyaki in my life, I deeply regret eating there after seeing the bathroom, and as I write this, 11 hours later, my stomach is twisted in knots. I don’t know if it is just a psychosomatic reaction from thinking about the experience, or if some rare rat flu is currently gearing up to wreak havoc on my system. Wish me luck, Unilocal

Small and deceiving but OUTSTANDING. We wanted Korean but stopped here after Kimchi Restaurant was unexpectedly closed. Kings Teriyaki was affordable And gooood! I love big picture menus too. We ordered Bi Bim Bap, chicken broccoli and Nabe Udon soup. We were surprised at the freshness, huge portions and great taste. No crowds and very friendly personal service. If you’re hungry and want affordable good food… Go here!

Ordered the Bento A Box($ 15.99 — not cheap!) which was supposed to include chicken & salmon teriyaki, tempura, gyoza, 4 pieces each of cucumber roll & tuna roll &2 pieces of Cali roll. * chicken teriyaki was dry * there was no salmon teriyaki * received 6 pieces of cucumber roll &4 Cali roll. There was no tuna roll. Rice on the rolls was so dry. Tasted like they were made a day before. * tempura and gyoza were so so Yes, I agree with the other Unilocalers — very friendly staff. I doubt if I’ll return.

I went here for the first time a few days ago. The cashier was very friendly! The atmosphere was comfortable, I’d love to come here to study! I bought the shrimp fried rice, it didn’t have as much flavor or as much shrimp as I had hoped, and it also came with corn(which is unusual), but it was ok, I’d order it again. :) My only complaint other than the above, would be the prices! It’s a bit expensive for what they’re giving you! For these prices I’d rather just pick up something from Safeway. However, I’ll be coming back. :)

My go-to place for a cheap lunch that doubles as dinner! I’m very much a visual person so the large picture menu on the wall is a major plus. They usually have a lunch special that includes salad, one scoop of rice and an a entrée for $ 4.95 — cheap! If you order regular size, the entrée comes with salad, two scoops of rice and a larger portion of the dish(works as two meals for me). Waaaay faster service and more seating than Mia’s Off Broadway.

When I moved to the Capitol Hill neighborhood, I needed to find a decent teriyaki joint in my general area. King’s Teriyaki is inexpensive and tasty. The tables are consistently clean. They give you pretty large portions too. I can usually eat half… the rest I take home for a late night snack. I always go for the Teriyaki Chicken(substitute fried rice instead of white… the fried rice is an extra charge but that’s no surprise). Too bad there aren’t any bean sprouts in the fried rice though. My boyfriend usually goes for the Vegetable Yakisoba, which I can definitely recommend. YUM.

Allergy friendly! I have Peanut Allergy. That means if I consume even a speck of peanut dust I will go into shock and die. I called Kings for pick up and talked to the owner about my concerns with cross-contamination(peanut dish is on the menu!!) He was knowledgeable and explained that the peanut dish was only ordered once every few days and the sauces used were kept away from the rest of the food. He explained that there had not been a single order for the peanut menu item in a few days and that the chicken teriyaki had zero chance of accidentally coming into contact with utensils used with peanuts. I appreciated the manager’s honesty. So I took the chance and I ordered take out chicken teriyaki. I lived, and it was very good. The chicken was crispy and was not smothered in sauce like it is at other Teriyaki places. I enjoyed the crispiness. The salad was kind of gross, weak mayo on wilted iceburg lettuce, so I only gave four stars. Good place to eat at when you are hungry and you have allergies.

Awesome Taste for Awesome Price… oh Don’t Forget the ENORMOUS portions they give u. Awesome food for a broke college student, It can be your lunch and dinner at the same time. I always order a Bento A/B when I was here with my gf, it’s enough for two of us. Otherwise, you HAVE to try the Chicken Katsu… It’s sooo goood for the cheap price :)

Seattle sure loves teriyaki… Teriyaki is everywhere and many teriyaki places like King’s carry a mix of Asian dishes, like Korean BBQ, Chinese, Vietnamese, etc. King’s has a low budget, no frills, for students atmosphere with loud hip hop music. You get your own utensils and tea. * Bento special($ 7.95): The special, available all day comes with boneless chicken teriyaki, one egg roll, California roll, green salad, big scoop of steamed white rice, bowl of miso soup. Hmm. The grilled chicken was dry and the sauce too salty, the salad dressing oddly sweet(like watered down mayo), and the egg roll quite greasy(probably made with frozen egg rolls). The California roll was okay and fairly fresh — the sushi rice had more vinegar than usual. The rice and unlimited hot tea were the highlights. King’s seems popular with the community college crowd. I liken teriyaki to the Hawaiian BBQ places in the Bay Area but worse. The Hawaiian BBQ places I’ve been to offer better tasting food(and much more of it — like 2 scoops of rice and a lot more chicken).

They have some good teriyaki fried rice, but the place is a mess. Carpet is dirty, huge flies around, service is terrible, you have to get your own water and tea. I guess you get what you paid for.

Fantastic Bachelor Food! King’s Teriyaki is cheap, the portions are huge and the location is very near my apartment. I have only ever ordered various portions of the chicken teriyaki and gyoza and they are always good. From my very limited experience with teriyaki sauce, this is very typical(i.e. very good.) King’s is the first takeout I’ve ordered in Capital Hill and felt like I got more food than I paid for… a great feeling to have along with a temporary food coma caused by teriyaki chicken & gyoza overdose.

Made the mistake of going here again, since – well forever. Once again, walk the extra two blocks and eat at chopsticks on olive way, as their chicken is always fresh. At places that i’m skeptical of, I usually order the cheapest thing, cuz you can’t go wrong, and in this case it was the Chicken Bowl!(to stay) The chicken seemed a little stale and the sauce was obviously just thrown on top. The steamed rice was good– HA! NEVER pay full price for a meal here — lunch special, chicken bowl or GTFO!

Came here for lunch today. When I first walked in I saw the big menu on the wall opposite the entrance. The prices didn’t really seem that good. A bento was $ 13 – 14 and the lunch plates were around $ 8. Luckily I turned around and saw the white board with the daily specials. $ 5.50 for chicken katsu with rice and salad. $ 7.50 for a bento with chicken teriyaki and a California roll. We got those since it was a pretty big difference in price from the regular menu. The bento was a little lacking. Pretty small. The chicken katsu came with a LOT of chicken but lots of breading and pretty greasy. It was edible but not great. Same with the bento. Too many places in that area to get a weekday lunch deal to come back to King’s Teriyaki, so I probably won’t be back.

Quick cheap Teriyaki and Yakisoba on Broadway the Lunch Special of a Bento box looks like a good deal nice little hole in the wall, with decent food that will fill you up and not break the bank Had the chicken Yakisoba and it was tasty and filling, just what I needed at the time, and the service was quick

The best thing about King’s is the daily special. You get a ton of decent food for a great price. Otherwise, it is pretty typical teriyaki, bento, and yakisoba. The atmosphere is not great. Generally sticky tables, sometimes a fly or two in the air, but not smelly or outright nasty. I wouldn’t take a date here. Also, good people watching out the window onto Broadway.

Yuck, yuck, YUCK. I’ve been here 3 times. There were huge mayflies flying around everywhere every time, flypaper hanging over tables. The food is ill prepared and isn’t anything more than Korean wannabe-Japanese at its worst–(I’ve gotten physically sick over the teriyaki chicken.) Plus, the tea is lukewarm. YUCK.

This is the place to go when you are in the mood for inexpensive teriyaki! The chicken breast katsu is my standard, and I can never resist getting an order of the gyoza. The salad that comes with your meal is always fresh and crisp. Tons of food, I usually have enough for lunch the next day. I wish they were open 7 days/wk because on more than one occasion I have gotten a crazy hankering, only to find they were closed. Sad face.

When a Central student like me is looking for cheap eats between classes, King’s is a natural choice. Class is not in this place’s vocabulary. Crates of Snapple on the floor, foam cups for tea, and out-of-place entrees like fish and chips on the menu hint at the nature of the beast. King’s serves whatever it wants, however it wants. With a wink and a nod from the servers, you accept the flaws and all that surrounds you and marvel at both the width of the plate and the girth of your wallet. In five minutes, you go from gawking at the menu to enjoying your meal. The best deal for a quick bite is either the daily special, usually some standard dish with an egg roll, or the $ 3.99 chicken teriyaki, which you actually order as the«Chicken Bowl.» The green tea is free and you are encouraged to take a cup of it for the road. Remember to bus your plates when you leave, and you’ll get a «Thank You!» from the servers.
