100% genuine dive bar, not one of those stupid forced«we’re a dive!!» dive bars. Played great music and had cheap beer.

Club K as my friends would jokingly call it. Real dive bar with that usually has a pretty interesting crowd of people in it. Real strong drinks like a dive bar should have.

This place is seriously kind of a hellhole. This coming from someone who LOVES dive bars. There’s something incredibly shabby and sad about the Knarr, though, and most of the clientele are ageing/aged barflies. If you’re a woman, you will not escape this place without some unwanted advances from the sloppy drunks here. The pool tables are uneven, the jukebox leaves a great deal to be desired, the selection of arcade games is okay but not great. They have those little casino machines at the bar. It’s dingy, the carpet is gross, everyone there seems to be a career drunk. It’s just depressing. On the upside, the staff there are total sweethearts. Really friendly, they will remember you, and they don’t skimp on the pours. The drinks are decent and cheap. But unfortunately, that’s the only good thing I can say about this place… otherwise, it’s pretty soul-suckingly joyless.

I’ve been to better dive bars near the University. The happy hour really isn’t happy as most drinks still average around $ 5 – 6. There is plenty of seating but there really isn’t much to this place and there is a lot to be desired. The pool tables are bad, and the drinks are okay. The only saving grace is it’s great for playing darts or to talk with the regulars(some scary and some funny) who frequent this place.

An old lonely drunk guy kept bothering us. Not my type of spot. A total dive. Has pool.

Decent dive bar with a nice bartender who pours well. Pool, darts, darts, shuffle board, reasonable prices, and a total dive. Yup.

The far north end of the ave, where the distinctions between the 71, 72, and 73 metro buses becomes real, is a dark and dreary place. Anchored by the Knarr bar, one ought only to come here he or she truly wishes to get wrecked. The daytime regulars here are even more scary than the ones at Earl’s farther south on the ave, and since there isn’t a giant wave of frat boys coming in between 9:30 and 1:00 to wash them out they’re more likely to stay right up until last call. With the most disgusting bathrooms in its postal code, the Knarr bar is sketchy enough to keep away even the least fearless of adventurers at bay, provided they don’t have a penitent for darts, pool, or shuffleboard – shuffle board is probably the most subtle allusion to high times on the high seas as it reminds most of the luxury cruises their grandmothers made slide shows of when they were little.

Want to spend your Saturday night rubbing shoulders with real, authentic crack-heads? Do you prefer your hipsters to be unshaven, riddled with track marks and reeking of bong water/urine? Then Knarr may be your kind of place. Check it out.

Dive bar at its best! Down the way, from from the college hangouts on the Ave. Here, you get a good blend of young and old. Prices were decent, servers were friendly, TVs showed the Mariners game, and easy to not only get on an open table of pool — but have enough space to play it. Also, a huge plus for the shuffleboard table. Just give them your ID and they give you the shuffleboard pucks… easy as that. A fun mix of rock music and pop/hip-hop will flow through this place. And although I didn’t order any food… I hear it’s not bad for cheap dive bar eats. A great place for a low key group hangout… I’ll def be back for more shuffleboard and beers!

One of my favorite watering holes. Good prices, booze, people, music, food, and bartenders. Nuff said.

Because it’s still my favorite dive bar, here’s an update: Recently the Knarr has employed a couple creative food-loving cooks who do amazing things with limited resources in the partial kitchen available to them. If you are hungry for something that’s not just chicken strips or a burger, ask what’s special that day. Depending on the day, you will find them making home-made chili, penne mac+cheese, huge salads, gumbo, and the list will grow in time. AND they regularly have wings, which are spicy and meaty, just how I like em. If you’ve been disappointed by the food before, give it another try.

This place is deff my favorite place to drink in the U. It doesn’t get the typical crowed that the majority of the UW pubs get cause its so far up the street… which is a good thing. Pros –Cheap drinks and specials every night –SUFFLEBOARD –Pinball –Not filled with Typical UW Douches –Easy to find parking close Cons –Food is TERRIBLE… some of the worst bar food ive ever had. –…sausage fest anyone? i think ive seen a total of 10 females in the 6 times ive been there

The name sounds cool, but it didn’t quite meet my expectations. It’s a crummy smelly dive bar with weird clientele. They have the typical pool tables and bar-top games, but no signs of life. Maybe it’s more happening into the late night? Blue Moon Saturday was good though, so I was able to kick back a cheap $ 3BM.

I had never been to Knarr as it is pretty far up the Ave, but it does not disappoint! You can play buck hunter, shuffleboard, pool, darts, and that punch-as-hard-as-you-can game. We were there on a Sat night, but I would definitely go back for some of their awesome weeknight specials. In January we organized an ‘Ave Crawl’ and Knarr was our first stop at 7pm. Good flavored vodka specials and the bartender was nice enough to take a group photo for us. One of our best stops on the crawl!

Ever wanted to meet a ship captain? I know I have. Well, here is the place to do it. You know those guys from Deadliest Catch? They drink here. Cheap drinks, shuffleboard and plenty of interesting folks to talk to. –1 star for smelling bad.

Went here after a trip to Die Bierstube with some friends who recommended the place for some late night beers and Shuffleboard. What a surprise, well it is on the dive end of the dive bar category the place had some great beer on tap at reasonable prices, a fun atmosphere and of course some shuffleboard. The Shuffleboard was free,(major score) and the people friendly, the beer flowing and the good times a going. We made until closing and guess what… a pizza man was selling his wares outside out of his car. Double score. So they have great beer, free shuffleboard, good prices and a pizza man cometh? Highly recommend if you live in the area or feel like going to a super dive for some good times.

A complete crapshoot. I went here once and asked for a black and tan and the bartender didn’t know what that was. When I explained it he said, oh i know that and went and mixed a guiness from a can with a mirror pond ipa from a bottle. Talk about gross, he only charge me $ 2 though. They have pool tables which was fun but, they’re of terrible quality.
