Linden Square

These apartments work really well for my girlfriend and I. We moved in at the beginning of August and so far everything has gone very well. We both work within a mile from here and have pretty much anything we need just outside our «front door» (grocery stores, rite aid, food/​coffee and gyms). the apartments themselves are nice but the hall ways typically smell or have trash cluttering them, the residents can be so loud (but that might just be because of thin walls), parking is a bit expensive but not over priced for the area. It has secured entry which makes us feel very safe, considering the area isn’t the nicest but anywhere near Aurora can be a bit «sketchy» but I never feel like I should be worried about the location or our safety. The staff are all really nice and personable. Overall, I would recommend these apartments if you are looking in the area there is nothing special but after looking around I have to say these are some of the nicer ones you will find.

Lived here for almost three months now and currently have had no real problems.
I am currently leasing a single bedroom apartment that had new carpet and a few new appliances (fridge and washer) installed, prior to moving in. After waiting about 2 months (on a waiting list) I was able to secure a reserved «uncovered» parking space, which is a lot more convenient then trying to find a spot on the street. The apartment is quite spacious for the rent, and it is within walking distance of grocery stores (Albertson’s, Grocery Outlet, etc.), gyms (Fitness Evolution, LA Fitness), department stores (Dollar Tree, Ross, Home Depot, etc.) and a few restaurants. I work in Fremont and it’s about a 25 minute drive in heavy traffic, 15 minutes otherwise. I have not had any problems with neighbours, it tends to be pretty quiet around. One of the upsides is that the staff is very friendly!
Some downsides I have experienced are the hallways or stairwells are not always the cleanest (garbage, or stains), and there have been a one or two broken glass doors. One that is not really the fault of the apartment is that the area does not have night life or much entertainment. If you want to enjoy a night out, it’s best to bus into downtown. Taking the E takes about 35 minutes to get into Belltown.
Besides that, I am currently enjoying my stay at Linden Square Apartments!

I’ve been living in linden square for about 6 months & I absolutely love it! Besides the apartment complex itself, the staff is super nice & helpful.
When my faucet had a leak, Britni did not only respond to me right away, she also physically came down to my apartment to see what was wrong & if she could help me herself while the Maintence crew was on their way. The staff goes above & beyond & this community really makes me feel like I’m part of them.
Would definitely recommend to anyone!

I moved to Linden Square about 6 months ago. I’m single so I needed something less expensive than downtown while still being close to work. My apartment fits my needs and I like that they have a parking garage. The staff is friendly and always greets me by name so I know they care about the people that live there. It’s a pretty cool place.

Pros:
–Friendly staff
–Most neighbors seem friendly, but respect your privacy
–Fast response from maintenance, regardless of how ‘small’ the issue is
–I have never felt unsafe living here, despite being in close proximity to Aurora
–Great location, near many grocery stores and food places. There’s also the E line which runs by every 10 minutes or so and brings you into Seattle quickly.
–Spacious and modern for the price
Cons:
–My license plates were stolen early on living here. That was when I was using street parking — I now pay a nominal fee to park in a more secure area.
–Parking stalls are a bit small (may be a pro, because my parking skills have improved)
–Most of the time I’ve lived here I’ve had quiet neighbors. New people are a bit nosier than the old ones so sometimes I hear music/​loud conversations.
–Elevator is frequently out of service.
Update: Keep record of all correspondence with the leasing office. If you go in person, send a follow up email to the office summarizing what you spoke about and who you spoke with. The upkeep of the premises seems to have taken a turn. I think they should put more effort in to finding who is vandalizing the elevator and other common areas.
On the plus side, the elevator hasn’t been broken in a while!

The Property manager and staff are helpful. Parking can be a pain however. Noise was kept fairly low around my apartment so I have no complaints about that. Pool has always been clean in the summer and the fitness area is decent.

I recently moved in to Linden Square Apartments and couldn’t be happier! The Property Manager and staff are very friendly and always greet me by name. Any request is handled with pleasure and the property is well organized for resident use.
The property is very clean and bright! I like all the plants and the grounds are kept immaculate. All the inside hallways are painted brightly and the carpets are new. It presents itself very well.

I had some really bad experiences living in there.

I lived here for only one year and didn’t want anything to do with the place after that.
When I moved in a 1 bed 1 bath unit it seemed relatively modern and spacious and i loved with the huge windows. Over time though, the appliances kept breaking and the alarm kept going off all the time, especially on the days I would otherwise be able to sleep in. The management sent notices that they needed to come in and «inspect» the units and it was going to take 3 days to do this, but they couldn’t tell you which day they were coming into your unit specifically. It was beyond annoying and inconvenient.
Do u like peace and quiet? This is not the place for you. During the summer when the pool opened people would bring their kids, their friends and their kids and all of them very much enjoyed being as loud and obnoxious as possible with their whining, crying, fighting and yelling. Needless to say, don’t go near the pool. This happened mostly at night after the management was closed so there was nothing that could be done.
Parking was also horrible. The garage was fine but if you want people to visit you, good luck finding parking at night.
The week before I moved out the place was bought out and now belongs to a new company. The new management was really nice and even returned most of my deposit which was cool (I did scrub the place down top to bottom). Overall, not recommended. But with a new management it might be improved

Zero Stars. This place is such a rip-​off. They charge a ridiculous fee to park in the garage, where we saw three cars with their windows smashed on separate occasions. Residents would let their friends into the garage and park in other peoples’ stalls. When we reported people parking in our stalls, staff did NOTHING. There always seems to be groups of people just hanging out in the garage at all hours. Creepy.
The people who seem to flock to Linden Square are rude. They leave garbage and dog pee just sitting wherever. They let their kids run around screaming. Their dogs bark all the time. Our upstairs neighbor was really rough with his girl, there was always yelling and banging noises.
I also saw drug deals go down in front of the building and saw hookers a couple of times. Two people were murdered in the vicinity while I lived there.
The staff is not helpful and they can be downright mean. Maintanance crew is nice, but because of all the problems this place has, you might have to wait a while for them to fix whatever needs to be fixed in your unit.
Vermin is another issue. There was a HUGE ant infestation while we lived there. They have an exterminator come out once a week without being called, because the ants are everywhere. They crawl up the building and were all over our 4^th floor apartment. Also, our cats got fleas even though they never go outside.
Just recently, I ordered a package and accidentally had it sent to my old address at Linden Square. They will not keep my package there under any circumstances. I work right down the street and would be able to pick it up immediately. Just goes to show how little these people care.

I lived there for over three years. The shelves in the closets fell down on top of a friend of mine as they were installed improperly. I couldn’t get a repair person when my kitchen faucet broke. I called in in three times & no response. No one is ever in the office & my appliances are older then me. You can’t complain about a noisy neighbor, tell night security. The new manager is rude & when I told her that she said I was yelling at her, I said I had to as she was yelling at me! I picked them due to the location but it ended up being inconvenient. I was not appreciated for paying my rent early or being a thoughtful neighbor. Emergency maintenance doesn’t exist so don’t bother paging them. All they care about is getting their rent on time while you live in poverty. I’ve watched so many people move out after a couple of months it made my head spin. No reason to get to know a neighbor as they wouldn’t be there long enough to matter. I have a much larger place $ 400/​month cheaper with a yard, indoor pool, gym with large screen tvs, tanning salon, racquet ball court, outdoor basketball court, twice the playground and someone is always in the office! What a concept. I cold called several apartments before finding this gem and there was always someone in all of the offices. Although I am just off Aurora I feel like I’m out in the country with my creek and pond and covered patio I can no bbq in the rain. I feel sorry for whoever got my apartment. In fact I feel sorry for anyone who ever lives there. Customer service is not in their vocabulary. The 3 bedroom apartment I had was like 1 bedroom, 1 walk in closet and a small storage room. They claim they can take up to a queen size in the second room and double bed in the third, maybe but take off the door to the room so you can get in & out of it. I expect them to find reasons to not refund any money or to bill me for things that were wrong with the apartment before I moved in, that is what they’re good at. When they increased my rent I said I was moving, it was too much for such a horrible place so they said they would increase it more because I was moving, say what? I agree with Annie R, one star is way to overrated. The halls stink & people let their dogs pee & sh*t in the hall ways. I don’t understand Erin, after my first year there I never saw another person by the pool to lounge or swim or even bbq. Are we talking about the same place? Even with the «rough» tenants they’re nothing compared to management. I agree with the non refundable damage deposit for animals why clean the carpet as they will do it anyway. Seems like a waste doesn’t it?

We actually enjoyed living here for the most part. The company is helpful, if there is a problem they address it immediately. Some of the other tenants can make life a little rough, but the management is spot on for addressing issues. Plus they have a lovely pool for lounging and BBQ’s during the summer. Most tenants end up sharing coals and just pass them along from one dinner party to the next.
We had a noisy downstairs neighbor who thought when we were getting up for work or taking the dog out in the morning we were being rude. He took it upon himself to throw things at our floor (we were the above unit) and scream at us at all hours of the day. Sometimes with us simply being asleep in bed he’d throw stuff to be vindictive. When we brought it to the attention of the management, they dealt with it so promptly that there hasn’t been an issue since then.

I am currently being billed $ 1,473 in apartment damamges. I lived there for bairly 6 months and took meticulious care ofthe place.

. When I moved in to Linden Square apartments on 9÷15÷2011 I did a walk through with Emily and pointed out how it was odd the apartment didn’t have any Base trim. I was told none of the apartment had base trim because it was too expensive to replace all the time. I also pointed out how the sheet rock and door trim had water damage like there had been a flood. She made a note that there damage but said that was normal wear. I pointed out the refrigerator had a big dent in the front of it and that all the cabinets had their wood like finish peeling off. She said this was one of the older apartment complexes.
As I was moving in I was told by another tenant that cars get broken into all the time and that they don’t actually have security. (I was told 24 hour security) I went to Emily with my concerns and she found me a spot in the parking garage. I never saw security patrol the area the entire time I was there.
After I moved in I went to the office to let them know that my carpet smelled really badly. I bought a room freshener but it could not remove the awful order from the room. They said it was because it just got shampooed and that it takes a couple days for it to air out. They reminded me that they would need to come back in to replace part of the carpet by the door because it had been damage by the previous tenant and they hadn’t had an opportunity to fix it yet. I also mentioned that after I had moved I noticed the fixtures in the bathroom were covered in paint splatters.
A week later the doors fell off all my closets. I went to the office a few times and the sign said they would be back at 1:00 (even though it was much later than that time) I eventually had to call even though I live there.
After that I noticed that my front porch was covered in lint. The apartment above mine had the drier outlet above my porch and it would spit lint onto mine. (in big clumps.)
6 months later I gave my 30 days notice to move out. Understanding that I had broken my lease I paid the $ 1562 early termination fee. I moved out the next week and spent the next couple weeks stopping by to clean the apartment after work. They dropped off a move out notice with a checklist of all the areas needing to be cleaned.
I wiped down every surface and Windexed every shiny surface. I opened every drawer and vacuumed it out and them wiped it down. I used a ladder to dust the ceiling, lights and clean the fan. After everything was cleaned I went through the entire apartment with a micro dust cloth. I was still charged $ 65 for cleaning.
The checklist said it was my responsibility to schedule and pay for a carpet cleaning. I went to the office to ask if I scheduled the carpet cleaning if they would be ok letting them in or if I needed to be there. They said that it was policy for the apartment to have the carpets cleaned and that I was not to. I mentioned I was only going to because it was on my list of things to do by then tenant that was given to me by them. The carpet cleaners said the carpet was destroyed and needed to be replaced along with the sheet rock. @ $ 746
Just to recap my concerns again.
The apartment was in the same if not better condition when I left. There defiantly was not any carpet or sheet rock damage left by me. I feel that they are trying to fix damages that were already there after my move out. I asked for a copy of the carpet cleaning recommendation done before I moved in and proof that they fixed the areas that needed to be fixed. I would also like to know why when the last tenant moved out they repaired only part of the carpet and not the whole carpet. (as I’m being charged)
As for the sheet rock If there was damage it was not visible when I moved out or in. I’m guessing this has to do with why there is no base trim in the apartment. Not only is there no base trim but there is also a gap between the wall and the carpet so it is obvious there should be trim and it was removed and never replaced.
I am also being charged for new door. The apartment was in the same if not better condition when I left.
I feel that they are trying to fix damages that were already there after my move out.

Ok, I have lived in several apartments in Seattle. I have never felt more comfortable than I do here. Not really sure why other ratings are so terrible. All the staff are super friendly. The neighborhood isn’t the greatest, but thats because its North Seattle, right off Aurora– can’t really expect much. The unit was clean at move-​in. I’ve seen no bugs or ants, though I’m on the 2^nd floor. And I’ve never once heard someone partying– though I suppose that could depend on what side of the building you live on. (Also, there’s a number you can call if neighbors are being too loud). The walls are a bit thin and I can hear neighbors walking, or sometimes talking, but it’s an apartment. You’re going to hear your neighbors at least a little no matter what where you live. And for the price (lowest I’ve been able to find for a nice one bedroom in the city, that allows big dogs) — it’s worth it for me. Not luxury by any means. But its not a dump.

If i could rate a ZERO i would! I have lived here 2 years. I want out because this place is HELL!!! in the lease agreement they state that if you have AUNTS to tell them. We thought nothing of it. Till we got ants! This place is infested with them no matter how CLEAN you are and when you have pets u don’t want an exterminator to spray chemicals! The neighbors are disrespectful and party ALL the time. U can hear EVERYTHING no insulation and the bathtubs creek and crackle u can even hear your neighbors in the shower on each side and above you. ALL my roomates have had there cards TRASHED. mine got smashed into and totaled, others for rocks thrown through windows and a friend of mine wile here overnight got the wheels stolen off his car! WTF!!! OVERPRICED rent for such a shitty building and it dose NOT look anything like the pictures you will see in the adds. they have 2 «show apts» just for that. Oh and another thing. I have lived here for 2 years without HEAT!!! no matter how much you complain nothing ever is taken care of totally. Staff is nice and all and the maintenance guy who dose yard work seems ok but i hate it here.

terrible. i lived here for a 15 month lease that just seemed like it would not end. there is no insulation, you can hear your neighbors above or below you clearly, in the bathroom, in the living room, every noise. the staff were fine to me while i was there, all smiles. i leave and get my inspection in the mail, they definitely did not inspect anything, just wrote «dirty» on every bullet, and i am an immaculately clean person, so this is ridiculous, charging me $ 370 just for their normal cleaning that they always do. my light bulbs were dirty Linden Square, really? If you have a pet, they will charge you to clean your carpets, no matter what. I left my carpets as clean as i found them, and they are getting them cleaned. i took my time to clean after i left, patched up wholes, vacuumed meticulously with my Dyson, no matter…
and as the other review said the halls do smell terrible, the people that live here are not clean, several times they would just leave their garbage in the halls. if you are going to live here, do not get an apartment that faces the courtyard on the first or second floors, it will be loud, the noise just echoes, during the summer its louder from people at the pool as well.
