Came here last night during my stay in Seattle from Boston. Everything was perfect from ambience, service and food. Our waitress was friendly, knew the menu and gave great recommendations. My friend who is picky about her cocktails really challenged the bar tender to make her something that wasn’t on the menu without giving any real guidance… the bar tender came over and made sure he understood my friend’s taste before suggesting some drinks he could make. It was a really special touch, superb customer service. He made her a drink that she loves. I had the red sangria which went down easy and was delicious. Apps: foie gras and beets– the bread that came with the foie gras was out of this world! The beats were yummy and perfectly roasted. For main course I had the pork cheeks which were incredibly tender and melted in my mouth, my friend ordered the shrimp and said they were fresh and delicious. We both cleared our plates. While waiting outside for our über, the bar tender peaked out and made sure he said goodnight to us since he missed his opportunity inside. It was so lovely from start to finish!

We’ve dined here several times; mostly at the bar but at a table twice. The cocktails are always amazing. Seriously well done. The food as well; haven’t ever been anything but in love with our dishes. Once my wife ordered a scallop in some sort of melon broth/reduction, and that frickin’ sauce was so delicious that she drank it right out of the bowl. We’re not poor-mannered cretins… it was just that good(and maybe the martinis helped). This is some of the best food I’ve eaten in Seattle. It’s small and cozy, and a great spot to have on Queen Anne. The only thing preventing me from giving it 5 stars are: 1. The small kitchen is open in this small restaurant, so most times I leave smelling like a kitchen. Worth it in my opinion, but not ideal. Not sure they can do anything about this, given the space, but better kitchen ventilation would be awesome. 2. No kids. They probably figure children don’t want to dine on Snake River Ranch grass-fed New York Strip, or other such deliciousness. But mine would. And we’d love to bring her there, if we could. But we can’t. Boo.

This is my favorite place to dine for any special occasion. The food is always impressive, surprisingly so. They rotate their menu very frequently and are ultra seasonal, which always makes for an interesting meal. They have a small dining room and bar, so it can be difficult to find a seat, occasionally. Aside from the food, their bar program boasts a great wine list in addition to plenty of satisfying whiskey and bourbon selections.

I am disappointed with Lloyd Martin: I went there with my girlfriend 3 times and we live right above, so we thought we’d give it a go, once in a while. Twice the waiter welcomed us and we asked to sit for dinner, he looked over his shoulders to the chef and says«I’m sorry, the chef is done for tonight». The restaurant stops serving at 10pm(which seems quite early already), once we showed up at 9.30pm, the other at 9pm. The attitude of the staff is surreal(basically, «meh, we’ll cook for you if we feel like it. Ho, and you should be grateful»). A restaurant is here to serve and feed their customers, not their ego! The third time, they were willing to take our money(it’s not cheap) and sat us at the bar, brought the menus and started enumerating the left overs from the evening(they were out of 2⁄3 of the dishes). I cannot remember what we got but I do remember that it was not bad and cocktails were good(hence the 2 stars, instead of 1). In short, I felt that I was supposed to think that they were doing me a huge favor to accept me in their restaurant and they were expecting me to be grateful for being in an exclusive place(which it is not). Honestly, walk a couple of blocks north to How To Cook A Wolf for some pretty amazing food and cocktails without the whole attitude for comparable(or lower) prices… As for us, we realized that we are not that desperate to try this place and I promise, we won’t inconvenience the chef anymore.

I was in Seattle for work and visited Lloyd Martin… it was so good I ended up eating there twice. The food was off the charts… It was fresh and one of the best(two) meals I have ever had. It is a smaller space so reservations are suggested. If visiting Seattle you must give this place a try. Great food, service, cocktails, wine selection and atmosphere.

This was our second visit. This time for social hour. Have the white bean toast, short rib melt and two cheese offerings. Out of control good. I loved the pickled pepper on the white bean toast. The short rib melt was very large. It has some spicy/smokey after notes to it. They will be seeing us again and again.

One of my top picks on Queen Anne. The food here is amazing and the cocktails outstanding. I had wine but did try my friend and husband’s drinks. Creative yet classy. We have eaten here several times and I cannot think of a bad thing on the menu, which changes every week. Definitely a must go.

I’ve had my eye on these guys for a while and finally took hubs here for a date night. Lloyd Martin is a small, upscale, neighborhood restaurant. Not a place for large groups, but a perfect spot for a romantic date or catching up with a couple of friends. Impeccable service, superbly crafted & balanced cocktails. Every dish was nearly amazing. Such great combinations of textures and flavors with a juxtaposition of rich and delicate. We had 1 small plate and 1 entrée each, add bread service, and 2 cocktails(some of the best I have had in a long time). The ticket came up to about $ 180 total, that’s a bit much if you ask me, but I will get to that later. The food did not disappoint one bit. Every dish stood on its own and wowed our palate. Melt in your mouth black cod with perfectly roasted carrots and carrot pure. Roasted fingerling potatoes with a poached egg, refreshing greens and crispy bits. I cannot say enough great things about the food. Here’s what threw me for a bit of a loop: Deviled egg — $ 4 each, that’s $ 4 for half of an egg, with filling(albeit tasty) and a small piece of candied bacon. Seriously? Lloyd Martin, please get over yourself, no deviled egg is worth $ 4 each, unless it comes with a dollop of beluga! Bread service with plain butter — $ 4, no problem, except you get 4 tiny slices. Take it down a notch on the prices(it comes across pretentious) and I would come back much more often.

One of the best overall dinner experiences we have ever had. The servers had spit on drink and entrée suggestions and their service was impeccable! Love the lighting, setting and music as well. Great for a overdue date night!

I’m leaning towards 5 stars but didn’t try enough to go there yet. Let’s start with service, which was outstanding. Our waiter was friendly, knowledgable and patient. He took time to explain the specialties and provided detailed explanations about the type of meats they use, which I must admit, was quite impressive. Apparently they have the top of the line pig that the farmer only sells to five restaurants. And they feed their pig hazelnuts, to add flavor… What?! Are you serious?! Ok so that leads up to food. We weren’t too hungry so ordered deviled eggs and lamb burger to share. The deviled eggs were probably the best I’ve had, the candied bacon on the top gives it just the right flavor. The lamb burger was also superb. Meat was tender, juicy and cooked to perfection. Bun was a little soggy. The meat was so good though that you don’t even need a bun. Finally, ambiance and drinks. Hand-crafted cocktails were great and ambiance is intimate and welcoming. Only other gripe is prices are pretty high. Gotta pay for that quality meat! I’ll try again, maybe by then I’ll update to 5 stars!

We love this place – not only is the food INCREDIBLE but everyone who works there is super sweet. It’s like eating at a friend’s house at this point!

I came in here to eat by myself the other week, enticed by the delicious-sounding offerings on the board displayed on the sidewalk. The staff treated me like a queen.(For the record, I am a woman.) The hostess, who was also my main server, was warm and inviting; perhaps she recognized me from the prior day when I tried to dine there with my partner but the wait was too long. While I was eating, another kind server also filled up my water and checked up on me. I appreciate when the restaurant staff make one feel like it’s completely normal to dine alone. Despite being a foodie, I was not familiar with a couple items on the menu, and my server helpfully explained them to me. She didn’t even flinch when I asked what«Dragon Tonuge beans» were – there was a typo on the menu, which changes often, and it should have read Dragon Tongue beans. The menu does require a sense of adventure. I ordered ravioli with lamb belly, which is what I came in for. Because I don’t eat pork, I cannot eat pork belly, a ubiquitous feature of Pacific Northwest restaurant menus, and was curious to try out lamb belly. Some pieces were melt-in-my-mouth good, while others were a little chewier, more like the sort of beef tripe served at dim sum. The dish had Romesco sauce, which I used sparingly, just enough to give the ravioli a little bit more flavor, as it was a bit tangy for my taste. I ordered yellowtail crudo to start. It was fresh with delicate accompaniments, as raw fish should be. I could have ordered five more of this dish. If this is on the menu again and you order it, make sure to chew slowly and savor it. Four stars due to the price and the fact that not every bite of the lamb belly dish was as tasty as the next. I will be back to try other mouth-watering on the sidewalk menu, not to mention the attentive service!

Let’s just say if you come here be prepared to drop some money. My boyfriend and I originally came here just to grab a drink and then we got a little hungry, not enough to seriously chow some food down, but we wanted something small. The food was good, although I can only speak for the small plates itself, it was good food. I realize that it not only is it a small plate, also tapas style small plates, but the portions were insanely small. Like two bites. Maybe there’s this little part of me that wants to get more bang from my buck, which this place is not the place to go to if that’s want you want, but it is a good place that serves good quality food. I adore the layout and the look of this restaurant, really any restaurant that is cute and cozy feeling, but with space to move around that is minimal. Definitely go here for a date, super cute place.

Now that they have the best bartender in the city, this is also the best place in the city. Yes, the food is excellent — but if you love the cocktail, ask Shane to make something for you, off the menu. Maybe just the first, then the second could be from the menu. You’ll be glad you did.

We have had the best food in our Seattle vacation, and it all started with a special Valentine’s prix fixe dinner here at Lloyd Martin. Normally, we avoid dining out on Vday – it often seems impersonal, and it rarely meets the high expectations. Yet our night here was both intimate and excellent. The food really made the night – I liked how they had two or three options for each course, so we could each get one and share. By far the most unique dish was the foie gras mousse with candied accoutrement, including an orange powder, candied pineapple, and strawberry pop rocks! It sounds weird, but they accompanied the smooth, rich taste of the mousse wonderfully well; anyone who can use pop rocks – use them well – in a dish is impressive to me. The whole meal was like that, with lovely touches. The wine pairings were perfect, too, though I didn’t get the list, so I can’t name my favorites. But I like it when I can be surprised, which I was by the Sauternes, which I don’t normally care for but really enjoyed. It went great with the mille feuille… so flaky and sweet! Additionally, our server-tender(we sat at the bar) provided the perfect balance of attention and privacy, all very personably. They have good cocktails in addition to the wine list, with lots of local wines, which were all new to me. The small space was used well, with plenty of seating, and they scheduled guests perfectly, so the kitchen wasn’t overwhelmed. We had a long, leisurely dinner, several hours, which we like, but somehow, it seemed like we were always being served something, either a drink or course. I’d highly recommend this place for special events or just a night to treat yourself, whether you’re alone and sit at the bar our out with a loved one or friends. We’re glad we found it.

Hubby Jeremy and I are new to Seattle and Queen Ann, and were eager to check out our new ‘hood and its bar and restaurant scene. After a glance into packed How to Cook a Wolf and a watering stop at the Paramount, we popped into Lloyd Martin for a quick drink that turned into a great evening. Bartender Tyler was welcoming and helped us navigate the cocktail and wine menus. We enjoyed the chicken liver mousse and were wowed by the smoked king oyster, pastrami style. My hubby tells me the rabbit pierogi and sweetbread dishes were great too, but my memory gets spotty after the yummy complementary cheese balls. Awesomest parting gift? A list of must-try Seattle restaurants from Tyler and the chef. Thank you!!!

YUM! This place is a great find. We’ve driven by here many times, and were so excited to go for Dine Around Seattle. The food was wonderful. Everything we tasted was amazing, and the bartender was very sweet. We had to sit at the bar because all the tables were reserved, but it was still a very comfortable experience. Thank you!

I came here for dine around Seattle. Their menu changes everyday according to the waitress, but today, I decided to get the Hamachi crudo, lobster mac and cheese and for dessert the cardamom cake with a side of vanilla ice cream. Hamachi crudo was fresh with yuzu drizzled on top and avocado dotted throughout. Truffle lobster mac and cheese had a good amount of black truffle shavings and 5 or so large pieces of lobster. It was creamy, but not super creamy. Cardamom cake had a texture similar to focaccia but was lightly sweet with a side of vanilla ice cream. I thought the dessert overall, was ok. Not sure if they were putting their best food for Dine Around Seattle, but quite frankly, I would give it 3.5 stars if Unilocal would allow me to since the food was fresh, but wasn’t outstanding.

Loved the small space and neighborhood bar atmosphere. We were seated immediately at the window with a cute«reserved» note on the table. We started with a nice bottle of Italian red, which was recommended by our lovely server Jennifer. She was a doll, so was the bartender who checked in with us and our host who sat us. We didn’t come very hungry so we did not order too many things off the menu. We started with the seared hamachi with bok choy kimchi & a sesame vinaigrette. Perfectly seared but a little too salty for my pallet. The sesame oil did help ease the saltiness. My dining companion enjoyed it though. My dining companion ordered the sweetbreads with pappardelle, porcini, 75 degree farm egg and fresh corn. Surprisingly light for what it was. I had the tenderloin with baby head lettuce, caesar dressing and 20 year old balsamic. I would have liked a little more balsamic and wished my tenderloin wasn’t cooked through as much as it was. The salad was fine but the tenderloin was a little under seasoned for my taste. For $ 38 for an 8 oz cut I expect it to wow me. Granted it’s just a cut of beef that would seem hard to mess up… the way I rate whether it’s good is if I know I can make it better at home as an amateur cook. They don’t have Baileys which would seem to be standard(?), but the bartender whipped up a concoction that was quite tasty. Compari and soda was exactly how it should be. They got that one down. All and all I wasn’t extremely impressed but it was an enjoyable evening. Prior to coming I read many Unilocal reviews and I noticed the common complaint was the issue with small portions. I’m actually a fan of small portions so that wasn’t my beef. I do however expect better flavors and creativity when paying $$$ for a meal.

Small little restaurant in upper Queen Anne. My boyfriend and I were looking for a place to eat and just stumbled upon this place. We got about 4 different things to share and I must say. their style of food is so unique and something I’ve never seen before! I absolutely love it! They combine such interesting flavors that go well with each other. My favorite was probably the gnocchi and brisket. I have never had this kind of deep fried, crispy gnocchi. The combo is amazing and they give you such a generous serving of meat so you can eat gnocchi and meat in every bite. Dessert — bacon waffle with strawberries and ice cream! Yummmmm
