Man’oushe Express

Love the food here. Period. It’s not like the same old middle eastern fare. I’m a huge fan of the Greek salad with chicken shawarma. The chicken is soft with crispy edges. I get it with a side of garlic sauce. Yum!

Go. Eat. Be full. This place is awesome. For a super reasonable price (about $ 6) you can get a Gyro bigger than your face. It is awesome! The flatbreads are amazing too. If you like middle eastern food this place is super authentic and you won’t be let down. They make their own pittas in house. Service was great, workers are super friendly. This is a must go!

great food. The labne with honey is delicious comes out fast and the falafel sandwich is the best I’ve had. Definitely go. Extremely friendly service too.

Fantastic food, reasonable prices and such nice people. Customer service is excellent, fresh hot pitas and generous serving sizes, will be back soon! FYI. Minus 1 star for cash only but they have an ATM on site.

The flat breads:
The zatar is an amazing blend of spices that are almost familiar, with thyme, salt, and lemon, but blended in a way unique to me! The roasted seseme seeds offer a great counterpoint to the chewy flatbread.
The labne with honey is stupid delicious. Sweet, tart, and chewy, its great. Do yourself a favor and add one to your order.
Falafel: perfectly seasoned, wonderfully crunchy outside with a warm fluffy center.
People: super nice! They brought us a whole new flat bread b/​c they dropped two slices on the ground!

Great food! I got the spinach and feta and Flatbread with herbs both were delicious! Good price too. It was also really convenient to pick up a snack at Goodies.

I usually eat here once a week for lunch and love the man’oushe.
I’ve had a chance to try most of the flat breads, but the dajaj (tawook chicken) and lahm b’ajeen (lamb tomato) are my favorites.
Always opt for the fresh toppings! The mint, cucumbers, olives and fresh tomatoes are nice additions.
The employees are super-​friendly and helpful if you have any questions. I hear they are (or have?) adding more items to the menu in the near future! :)

Kind of confused. Menu only served flatbread with toppings. Have they changed lately? The two I ordered — one spinach and one a herbs mixture — weren’t very good. Spinach was pickled or something? Herbs were overpowering. Odd. Flatbread was good. Maybe the meat versions were better. They were amazingly cheap.

I love the facelift done to the place. Food is consistently good. These are, to put them crudely, Middle Eastern flat breads of at least 8 to 10 varieties.
The breads are made from scratch on site, so it’s very flavorful and fresh, and cheap.
Take time to browse downstairs in the Goodies grocery store, also recently redone. Parking out back. It’s difficult to get in on Lake City given it’s like, a major highway. But worth the risk. Or better yet, walk there.

Delicious Lebanese flatbread for under $ 5. The place is sort of hard to find and completely unsuspecting. I had the spicy ground beef. It looks like a weird meat cake pizza but I promise it tastes so much better than it looks. The flatbread is made to order in their oven so it comes out fresh and surprisingly fast.

Outstanding and exotic (and crazy cheap!) snack food, served fresh and hot from a clean, well-​organized kitchen by friendly and polite people who seem pretty happy to be there. Wow.
Besides being almost impossible to find for the uninitiated (the sign for the old grocery space, «Goodies», is your landmark) I can’t understand why this place isn’t overrun.
The product is simple and the menu small. Personal-​sized flatbread pizzas topped with spinach, chicken, lamb, beef and egg, rich and mouth-​watering cheeses, pepper, tomato, and olive oil sauces, and wonderful Mediterranean herbs and spices.
Most of the pizzas are about $ 5.00. I’m serious.
Have some fresh mint tea, order a selection or three and explore some new tastes! Can’t recommend this little place enough!

Truly the only place to get an authentic man’oushe around the Seattle area. Nothing compares.

The owner was super friendly and walked us through the all amazing sounding options. Everything was delicious and we would definitely go back. Wish the was one in cap hill.

I would have never come across this place if it weren’t for my friend’s quick Unilocaling skills as we were trying to find a quick bite to eat after a run (walk, in my case) at Greenlake. This place is tucked inside a small grocery store that would’ve easily gone unnoticed on any given day. The employee that was making our man’oushe told us that this place gets packed during the weekends– about 40 people crammed, lining up in a space that only seats 6 people. I was so glad we stumbled in on a Tuesday, when it was completely empty. He also told us that this is the only place in Seattle (maybe even Washington?) that does this. I think he was referring to the kind of oven they used.
We went ahead and entrusted him to give us 4 recommendations for the flatbreads, and this is what we got:
Chicken: My least favorite of the 4. The meat was minced very well, to the point where I couldn’t tell if there was even any meat element. It had a very mild flavor, so it might suit someone in the mood for a very light snack.
Soujouk Wa Bayd (spicy sausage with eggs): I expected the eggs to be runny, but it was just a layer of thoroughly baked eggs on top of a layer of sausage. This would be a good choice for breakfast since it’s almost another variation of a sausage and egg sandwich.
Kufta arayes (beef w/​parsley & onions on pita): This tasted very similar to the previous one, the only difference is that it is more of a calzone than a flatbread, and it was served with a pickle. Maybe since it isn’t open faced, the meat was more juicy in this one.
Sbanikh wa Feta (spinach and feta): This one definitely threw me and my friends off. The ingredients led us to expect a taste that resembles a greek pie (spanakopita), but what we weren’t aware of was that the spinach was either pickled or cooked with vinegar or some other tart seasoning of some kind. I’m pretty sure it was pickled. It was definitely a nice surprise for me. This was my favorite one out of the bunch.
* This is what bumped this place up 1 star: As we were chomping away, the cook was working on making a 5^th flatbread for us — on the house. I mean… come on. I was sold. I love this place and I love that man. I regret that I didn’t get his name, but big shout outs to this guy. The free one he threw in was the Zaatar, which has thyme and other herbs on it. Very flavorful and also one of my favorites out of all 5.
Overall, I really recommend coming here for a light snack (or meal, if you have a small stomach) if you’re around the area and you’re craving some mediterranean flavors.

Needed a quick pick-​up lunch the other day and on a Sunday afternoon pickings on LCW were slim. Hubby mentioned that Goodie’s did lunch now so in I came! Hubby usually does all our Goodie’s shopping, so I haven’t been inside in a year or two and was pleasantly surprised to see the casual lunch spot set up at the back of the store. I ordered a selection of 3 mana’eesh– Dajaj (chicken), zaatar wa jibne (spice-​herb blend with a 2 cheese combo), and Sbanikh (spinach) for take-​away. While waiting, I spent quite a bit of time chatting with the employees about the type of food they were serving. Turns out this is a very popular fast-​food breakfast common throughout Lebanon. Flatbread-​style, and similar to pizza but actually healthier due to the type of bread, cheese and quantity of veggies used.
We chowed down the food once I got it home, and though we liked the other 2 better than the chicken, they were all quite tasty for a quick and cheap meal! I definitely want to try one of the beef versions next time… i’m glad to have found a quick go-​to place nearby :)

This is a great new place inside of Goodies Mediterranean Market that makes mana’eesh to order. Very authentic and unique in the Seattle area. Mana’eesh (plural of man’oushe) are iconic Lebanese breakfast flatbreads that are sold everywhere on the street and bakeries. In their most basic form, spread with Zaatar (spice/​herb blend) and Olive Oil, sometimes with cheese. Here they offer several toppings and also do traditional Lahme bi Agine (flatbreads spread with a spiced meat and peppers topping), and many others.
They get busy at certain times of the week and for good reason, but still new enough that They have not been reviewed in any of the Seattle mags yet– I predict they will be much busier soon. Very reasonable prices too.
I sampled the Zaatar, Lah’m b’ajeen, Jibne and the Soujouk (see pics of menu) and all of them were very authentic and well executed and really good. This is a real hidden jewel!
