Mardi Gras Donuts

You know what you should post that you are no longer open or remodeling I drove 40 minutes to get something yummy and was very disappointed

I was lucky to go to this establishment 1 time. I went on 1÷9÷16 to get some donuts and beignets and they were out of business.

Hot and fresh, made to order beignets, for a mere few bucks… yes!
Need I elaborate?
It’s a little hole in the wall spot that would benefit from some seating to sit back and relax in, but the beignets alone nearly give this one 5 stars anyway. Totally worth the trip if you’re not in/​near WC.
Will have to come back and try the regular donuts too!

I’ve been to New Orleans a few times and it was so nice to have a cup of chicory coffee and hot beignets. The beignets and donuts are delicious and the owner was so kind! Very good service!

IT’S NOT CLOSED!!! Great beignets. Soft & fluffy. Generous portion for the price. The only four stars is because of their lack of decoration and places to sit.

Unfortunately I haven’t been able to eat there, but I am super angry that they are now closed until future notice. I have $ 50 in gift certificates I just bought!

What’s not to love about fresh and hot beignets dusted in a snow fall of powdered sugar?!?
Came in around 10 ish and was greeted by a friendly lady. I knew exactly what I wanted and it was their beignets. $ 3.25 for 3 large pillows of dough?! What a steal!
It didn’t take too long for them either. She gave me two bags, one with powdered sugar and one with the beignets. Sort of a DIY activity. It was fun! I took the paper towel that was sitting at the bottom of the donut bag out and dumped the powdered sugar into bag and shook away!
I scarfed those puppies down so fast! They were sooooo fluffy, hot and crisp. If you’re lookin’ for some yummy beignets make sure to stop by!

Here’s what you get… one order consists of three — hot out of the oil perfect pillows and a bag with a little powdered sugar in the bottom. Drop one of those piping hot puffs into the sugar and shake! Out comes a perfectly coated, deliciously warm beignet that is just begging to be paired with a streaming cup of joe! You might not be able to stop at just one so plan accordingly! Have a finicky eater in your group? A fan favorite for the younger member of our pack was the twist doughnuts.

It’s a hole in the wall kinda place. The beignets are so good. 3 for $ 3.25. I hate to say it but I ate all 3 of them myself because they were that good. I haven’t been to New Orleans so I don’t know what an authentic beignet is like but I’ve had them at several places around town and this place beats the pants out of them all. It’s about a 3 minute wait for the beignets so you can sit on the benches. They do not serve coffee, tea or espresso here and there are no tables and chairs so you just take your doughnuts to go.
On my second visit I ordered the beignets again for me plus a chocolate bar and apple fritter for my mom. The lady who took my order was patient and very nice. She gave me three complimentary doughnuts, mango and strawberry raised and a sprinkles cake doughnut. I can’t comment on the doughnuts since I didn’t try them but my mom said they were pretty good.
So to round things out, great customer service, cash only, take your order to go and amazing beignets!

After taco night with sangria, then Maker’s Mark until the wee hours of the morning, I woke up a little unfocused. Spent today wandering and since I haven’t reviewed much for a while decided to chronicle my journey.
Out walking the neighborhood — first stop, Mardi Gras Donuts. Holy moley! What a delicious treat! I had a cake donut with orange glaze and chocolate sprinkles. The cake was delicate with a very slight crust, the icing a subtle citrus — and cost a whopping 75 cents. Unfortunately there was a sign in the window saying that they’re only going to have donuts on Friday, Saturday and Sunday now (still beignets daily though, if that’s your thing). I chatted with the owner who is super nice but it looks like business has been slow.
Put down your paleo bar and go get a donut! You WILL thank yourself.

I was speaking about donut cravings when I got to my hair stylists place and there it was, 2 doors down! I wanted to try the beignets but decided to go traditional first. Got a glazed twist for myself and my beau got Boston cream filled. #1 FRESH, perfectly soft texture; the glaze was not too sweet and the Boston cream was thick with pudding texture and not too sweet either. Automatic love! I will be back for the beignets !

We came here for beignets! The location is easy to find and there are front (street) parking heading towards white center. If you are coming from South (Burien or Des Moines) you will take Ambaum road, as you get towards white center it’s on your right side, don’t drive too fast otherwise you’ll pass it by. I gave this place 5 stars specifically for the beignets & just being conveniently closer to the south side (versus driving towards Seattle or Tacoma). Service is awesome & price affordable. I was craving for beignets and this was the only place close to me that made it fresh & wonderful! They also make other doughnuts. As a small business most places start small I hope this thrives and maybe they could start a food truck just selling those wonderful pillowy goodness beignets all over PNW! It’s CASH ONLY so please bring cash before you hurry here & enjoy.

I wish they had some tables to sit at so you can enjoy them there.

Yum! Seriously. Fresh, hot beignets, straight out of the fryer, with a sack of powered sugar to roll them in. And for less than a dollar a beignet! What more could you want?
The only downside is that while I was there, there wasn’t anywhere to sit down to eat these delightfully delicious little packages of dough. We ended up walking down the street, eating as we went, but with that much powdered sugar, things can get kind of messy like that.
I guess the only other downside is that I went straight for the beignets, and didn’t have room for a lot of other tasty donuts at the time. We got a maple bar to go and that was super tasty even an hour later. No regrets though.
It looks like it’s a little mom and pop operation, but the people that run it are very sweet and polite. I’ll definitely go back next time I venture out to White Center.

— My husband had the apple fritter, and thought it was too «frosted» and not heavy enough of an apple taste. He likes the Cambodian doughnut place down the street.
+ All of the doughnuts looked massive. I’d definitely come back to try my favorite type (glazed).

+/​-​I went first thing on a weekend morning, and there was 1 person working — I’m sure the couple behind me in line would say service was slow (since they had to wait for my beignets to cook)

Before you go here and expect a huge selection I will tell you don’t. This establishment just opened a few months ago and like any small buisness keeps it simple. Do expect a dang good donut tho. We ordered a few diffrent cake donuts and a couple raised donuts. They are wonderfully made with a crisp crust on the cake donuts. Highly recommend this place

They only get 4 stars because they’re still getting their place together.
Food is excellent though.
Beignets are amazing… wish they offered a few more options, but it’s a great place to start.
The donuts are tasty too.

This place is seriously a no frills donut shop. You walk in and there’s a counter with a rack of donuts behind it and some Mardi Gras beads for decoration. That’s it.
An order of 3 beignets is $ 2.25 and they take cash only. They were fluffy and not overly greasy. I loved that they packed the powdered sugar on the side.

Hot, fresh Beignets — 3 for $ 2.25. Walked in and thought they didn’t have any beignets. Was told they do, but it will be a 3 minute wait.
Got a box with a bag on top and wondered about the bag. I was told it housed the powdered sugar. You put it on when you’re ready to eat it, to keep it from melting.
Sat down out front and started on one. Had to go back inside for napkins though because the were too hot to hold. There was a breeze outside and powdered sugar was getting airborne.
These are large, hallow, square pillows of hot goodness. Kind of like a light Indian fry bread. Get more than you need, they’re easy to share.

I’ve always been disappointed when I order beignets outside of the South. Not anymore. This place is good. Really good. As in you may get addicted good.
The place is cash only. $ 2.25 will buy you three beignets. That is a steal, trust me.
And the best part? They put the powder sugar on the side, so you get to control how much sugar you want on your beignets. The only thing missing is coffee. You can’t have beignets and not have coffee, so I hope they will start offering some soon!
