At the pre-​op appointment, just before Dr. Burns was scheduled to operate on my 12-​month son, he scolded me for not remembering terminology he’d «taught» me in past appointments. When I told him I didn’t know what «hydo» was, his reply was «That’s too bad. You must not have been paying attention in past appointments.» He then continued without explaining the term to me. Needless to say, we cancelled the surgery and found another doctor.
He might be a good surgeon, I don’t know. I couldn’t trust him to treat me with common courtesy or make me feel comfortable with the him performing surgery on my 12 month old baby. Skip the arrogance and go to Children’s hospital. They have caring, kind, and empathic doctors and staff. Not only have their doctors been voted as the Best Dr’s by Seattle Metropolitan Magazine, they are some of the best doctors in the country.

Hopefully you’ll never need a pediatric urologist, but if you do, go see Mark Burns. I often think he’s the ONLY ped urologist in town as follow up apptmts book out many months.
So great with kids, and manages to explain things so that both you and your child (over 5) understand.
