Needed a light replacement on my car quick because I had to leave in a hurry. They replaced my light and charged me ¼ the price Toyota wanted to charge me.

I have never written a bad review before but in this case I strongly believe it calls for one. I had an 11 am appointment for an oil change that I had called in three days ahead of time. When I went to my appointment I had no idea that Midas had even changed locations. I wasn’t informed over the phone and their Unilocal address hasn’t changed. So I drove to the new location they had posted on their door. When I arrived to my oil change at 11:11 I explained to the manager (Dave Davis) that I was late because they had failed to inform me over the phone they had moved locations and he just laughed and said they had moved a month ago. To that I replied that I get my oil change roughly every three months like most people so how was I supposed to know. He then informed me that I had missed my appointment and would have to wait for over an hour for another. This is a good way to ensure that customers won’t return.

I can’t really give a business more than 1 star when I walk in and ask for a estimate on a service and the guy just looks at me and kind of giggles. It was around 4:45pm on Friday when I walked into and ask what is the price of changing out my spark plugs, and he just looks at me and kind of giggles and tells me he needs to examine my whole car. Uhhhhh I just need a price on changing my spark plugs. All he tells me is $ 98 an hour… doesn’t even know what car I have. Then I tell him it’s a 99 Maxima then he goes and tells me three are easy to do the other 3 aren’t so easy. Yes I am aware of that and that’s why I’m here. But your lazy ass doesn’t want to go into your computer and get me a quote on how much the parts and tax and labor and all will cost. So then I go on about asking how much is a basic tune up again he won’t give me a quote. He tells me «we need to examine your whole car» tells me I need to drop it off first for us to examine a car and then they can tell me how much a tune up is… The f*ck is wrong with this guy? I get your closed in 15 minutes, and you want to get out but all you had to tell me is how much your services are. Wasn’t asking to do it right then and there. Well I went to down the street today. Quoted me, recommended things and got it done today at another local shop. Nice job Midas!

I was thoroughly impressed with Midas today. My brakes went out on me this morning on my way to work. After my shift I took my sad little car to Midas down the street. I had been there once before for an oil change and they had been great before. After 45 minutes of diagnostic testing on my brakes, they told me exactly what needed to be done and gave me an itemized list of parts and labor prices. I didn’t feel pressured into buying any other services and they were very sensitive about my budget. I was out of there a little over an hour later, and my car drives good as new! The manager, Dave was exceptionally friendly and explained everything about the process to a very worried (and not-​car-​saavy) me. I would go back in a heartbeat for all of my maintenance work!

I had a coupon lying around for a $ 20 oil change and tire rotation and they were able to fit me in for an appointment the next day.
The man at the front counter was very nice, and he told me it should take about half an hour at most. The waiting area was fairly clean, and there were plenty of magazines to look through while waiting.
Surprisingly, my oil change only took 15 minutes because there were two people available to look at my car and check all the parts. The guy recommended me a few parts that needed to be replaced, but didn’t pressure me with anything. Great service! I recommend Midas for my future oil changes.

Great shop, we needed an exhaust pipes repair on our VW, Midas Lake City saved us $ 1,400 compared to other place, the manager Dave is extremely knowledgeable, professional yet friendly and funny. We had a minor problem with the exhaust after the repair and the shop fixed it as a part of the repair warranty. The price estimates were right, the car was ready for us on time. Great experience.

They are honest, friendly and prompt.
They normally have a coupon on their website. I go there for oil change and tune up. They never push for other services and their courtesy check is helpful. I call them the night before and set an appointment for the day after. When I drop my car they give an estimate time and they always are right on time.

Dave was so friendly and helpful. They took great care of my car at reasonable prices and even found me an unsolicited $ 25 off.

Just got back fro the Lake City Midas. My car needed an oil change and I wanted them to check out a strange rattle from the rear of the car.
I called yesterday for my 1:00 p.m. appt today. Their office is clean, AC’d, with a table, chairs, and lots of magazines.
The cost was $ 35.00 and besides the oil change, all fluids were checked, and they rotated the tires, too! Oh, and added air to the tires… that is as good as it gets!
Very professional, no sleezy stuff, honest and to the point. And the rattle? The Midas guy was uncertain but thought it could have been the old catalytic converter falling apart and pieces may have migrated into the muffler. He said that was a remote possibility. He said that the inside of the muffler could have rust in it with pieces bumping around. In any case, there was no pressure, just ideas. Oh, and the car had previously been checked by a mechanic for the same rattle and nothing was determined.
You don’t need to fool around with the games and gimmicks of a Jiffy Lube. Midas is the place to go.

It is nice to know that there are still honest genuine auto mechanics out there and Dave from Lake City Midas is definitely one of them! He saved me $ 100 by informing me that my battery didn’t really need to be replaced. He went the extra mile to even test my battery free of charge. I will recommending this place to all of my friends. Thank you Dave.

I go to Midas for my oil changes for the last year. The staff is very friendly and informative. The service is fast and convenient (I live right down the street) and their coupons always insure that I only pay around $ 25. Not bad compared to Jiffy Lube that charges at least $ 10 more and does an awful job! Good work guys!

I heard clunking noise coming from my front wheels. I asked my coworkers and they I thought I should take my car in to a shop immediately. I called Midas on Tuesday and scheduled to drop off on Thursday morning.
I didn’t have to explain much because when I drove into the parking lot, the mechanic already heard the clunking noise. After getting my basic info. They started checking on my car. It turned out the guard underneath the car fell half way off. That’s what made the noise. They went ahead and performed a temporary fix. In addition, they told me to drive CAREFULLY :-) Since the car was also pass due for oil change, I also requested the service. They did the oil change and courtesy check up on the car. The fix for the guard: zero and the oil change with courtesy check up $ 30 (roundup)
What I like about this place is the staff is very friendly. And, they don’t pressure you to do anything you don’t want. They don’t promise you if they can’t do it.

Dave at the desk is incredibly generous with his knowledge when you are just calling to come in. I have brought my Nissan 1986 pickup here over the past three years and have always had fast, effective repairs, and clear and acurate communication. Very honest, helpful and efficient and effective shop. These guys are to be trusted!

Yes these guys have earned an A-​OK from me.
As you can see I was a bit upset the other day.
I didn’t know what to do but I wanted to find out what the Midas policy was on car inspections. Not seeing anything on their website I contacted corporate in Louisiana. By this time I had accepted my fate but I wanted to make sure this didn’t happen to others in the future.
Being two hours ahead they were closed so I left a message like the one I left here.
The next day at 9 am I get a call from corporate confirming my store. 30 minutes later I get a call from the district manager. Wow great turn around you guys. You know what for that you get another star! Told him my story. Then at the end he asked what he could do for me. I said to simply don’t let this happen to other customers. That is all I wanted.
Then he offers to have Midas take care of the hours to install the part if I paid for the part, This seemed fair to me. If they had checked the car properly the first time they would have caught the problem and I would have paid the allotted time I already did as well as the price for the part. So I agreed. Shocked really at such a generous offer.
Then today I took my car in and in less then 2 hours it was ready! When I went to pay for the part it was comped as well. This was really a shocked. I insisted on paying for the part but they refused. Really I did not mean to make that much of a fuss. But due to my extremely tight budget I really really appreciated it.
Now I am not encouraging anyone to call corporate for any company any time there is a minor issue. I did not seek out the result I got when I called them. Again I was willing to accept what happened but just didn’t want it to happen to others. Always ask for the diagnosis. Always make sure they have checked the car properly before agreeing to any work. Not just at Midas but anywhere.

just because you try and filter me like Im spam doesn’t stop the fact that you improperly put my brakes on and have caused massive amount of damage to my car.
big chick whose name starts with a k was so rude to me. She charged me almost 100 dollars for a diagnostic that is free at any auto place. but didn’t tell me before she did it, finally stopped going after they kept telling me bull about my car. Thats why I had my car at another place and they told me that there wasn’t half as much wrong with my car.

Never been compelled to write a review before, but they were so nice and honest. went in to get my brake fluid flushed on the recommendation of another, stupidly expensive mechanic. They could have just done it but said that I didn’t actually need it, as well as gave me a free check and fair estimate for some other work on my brakes. very pleasant experience overall, and greatly appreciated the honesty, esp after another mechanic tried to take me for a ride… will go back!

These guys are honestly, friendly and prompt. I’m not a big car fiend, but when my muffler on my 1990 volvo started to sound like a low rider, it was time to deal with a replacement.
Good thing I started coming here in 1994.
My warranty was still good for a new muffler and no hard sell.
I like that, the even gave my dog a few scritches and then asked where he was the next day. I really like that.
