this is a nice treat for us… my boyfriend is vegan and it was great news to find out they are vegan too. Nice flavor options. Great place to chill as well.

We visited after lunch, which was probably not the best time. The selection seemed very limited. Basically only chocolate and plain cake donuts with various icings(chocolate, vanilla, mint, raspberry). Both my husband and I are raised donut fans too. Fortunately, we were prepared not to see a lot of variety in that department because we had checked out Mighty-O online before our visit. Still, there were several items we would have loved to try that had probably been sold out that morning. I’ll give them props for their cake donut recipe. Not too sweet, light, and fluffy. Not greasy at all either. Usually cake donuts are all of the above. We ended up buying three chocolate cake donuts with different icings, but they had samples of their plain variety out. That was also decent. The chocolate version has a good chocolate flavor. I’ll give them three stars because of the donut quality but they could be a little more innovative.

Sold out of donuts on «national donut day». I’m sure the demand was hard to forecast…

Once upon a time, I convinced myself that I didn’t like donuts. I was really telling myself that a good donut is hard to find. Overly greasy donuts are not for me so these suit me just fine. They’re a bit dense and filling enough for me to stop at just one, unless I happen to find a few minis lying around. Sweet, but not overly sweet is my jam and that’s the case here, even with the glazed ones. My favorite is the topless chocolate. It allows me to experience the donut without fussiness. I like some of the glazed ones too but chocolate will steal my heart every time. I’ve been served by different staff members who have been friendly and informative. I also like to order coffee here and hang out if I have the chance. The space is great! It’s not super busy like other places down the street. I can get some work done with the free wi-fi. Whether you want to sit at a high bar, low bar, kids communal table, or 4-top, they’ve got you covered. Be aware that they run out of donuts sometimes so if you have your heart set on something, it’s best to get there early.

So, I’m an environmental scientist. I take my profession very seriously. A crucial part of the scientific process is «replication»…you don’t draw conclusions from a single observation; you make repeated observations until you can make definitive statements based on statistical probabilities. Once a conclusion is articulated, an ideal protocol for ecosystem science is «monitoring»: regular, repeat observations to ensure you have adequate data to determine if changes occur and, if so, the magnitude of said changes. I have begun taking replicated measures of the«Raspberry Riot» donut from the newish Mighty-O Donuts store in Ballard, and while it is too early to make any absolute statements, preliminary results are very encouraging. Donuts consumed to date are more flavorful, lighter and fluffier than those from similar post-modern donut habitats in the Puget Sound ecoregion. While it seems apparent that their donuts spent some time in a fryer, they appear not to have been in there for so long that the spongy, cakey quality has been lost. I’m sure there is some kind of scientific coefficient for this quality; let’s call it the«Horton’s coefficient,» where 0 is over-fried gristly, ghastly organic matter, and 1 is immaculately moist and light and fluffy. I’d say Mighty-O has a Horton’s coefficient that is at least a 0.8, perhaps higher. And the frosting actually does taste like berries rather than like«red.» My initial assessment of Mighty-O’s niche in the donut ecosystem is «do a few things, and do them very well»…they don’t have an especially diverse selection of donuts but the ones they do serve are very good and consistent. Moreover, they make vegan donuts, they serve good quality tea, and everything is compostable. The store itself is brightly lit and decorated in a tasteful minimalist Nordic style. I shall continue to collect data and, as my waistline allows, establish a regular monitoring program.

Big fan of this little spot — my boyfriend lives pretty much just around the corner, so I’ve been here quite a few times for donuts. They mostly have cake donuts, which I actually usually don’t like as much as yeasted donuts, but everything I’ve had here has been tasty. I’ve tried their plain glazed, orange blossom(seasonal flavor), and French toast donuts, as well as a yeast donut that they had once. The cake donuts are really light and fluffy and not too sweet. I think(?) all of their donuts are also vegan, which doesn’t really affect me but might be worth knowing in case you or a friend is looking for delicious vegan desserts. At $ 1.75 a pop, the price is also right! Definitely worth a stop by(and they have other locations in Greenlake and Capitol Hill as well.)

I popped in here on a whim, being a lover of donuts. Where’s the donuts? Only about 8 options to try at 3pm. The fritter wasn’t bad. Perfectly acceptable. But I wanted something else, maybe. The coffee was good, but the guy behind the counter felt a need to explain that French Roast was a darker roast. The place is empty, in a pending-bankruptcy kinda way. With Bauhaus closing, is this a trend? I may not return. Top Pot might be better. I should mention that my meh fritter and small cup. of coffee was $ 5.30. That’s too damn much coin.

I’ve been here twice now. The place REEKS of donut flavored oil. Be prepared to smell like oil/donuts after you leave. I was only in here for 5 – 10 minutes and still smell like it an hour later. My donut today was fresh and warm and delicious. Not sure if they have a warmer in the case but it’s nice! I got a latte that was almost luke warm– maybe a little warmer. Tasted good but temp was way off. I think the barista maybe was a little green based on what I saw. I believe the woman who helped me with my donut and payment was training or new so things were a little slow but I was waiting on my latte anyways which was fine. Overall, satisfied with my donut. Not satisfied with my coffee and I smell like donuts now…

This location offers a nice big table, complete with little tree stumps, for the younger crowd. My kids love that – almost as much as their sprinkle doughnut. The doughnuts are cakey and have good consistency… we are definitely fans!

Sooo I was really excited to try these especially since I hear they’re vegan. But I gotta admit I’m still a partial to Top Pot. If you like cake style donuts then you will probably like these. My favorite was the raspberry chocolate. The flavors are good but I like the texture of a good old fashion donut.

Best vegan donuts I’ve had hands down. It’s almost silly that people feel they need to eat«regular» donuts with all of the animal(dairy) products, when there are yummy donut places like these. The yeast based donuts were incredibly similar to the regular donuts you used to get as a kid, but better. If you need to go the Gluten-Free route, I feel like the cake donuts would work out for you-(please don’t take my word for it, ask them. but I’m pretty sure). Vegan AND Gluten Free donuts are usually barely risen and quite dry. This place had the best vegan donuts I’ve tasted. EVER. I highly recommend the Maple Bar. a yummy classic that they perfected! I’d give them 5 stars if it wasn’t for one thing I found really odd. It’s an all vegan donut shop right? Well… they serve coffee(yay!) but with whole milk as an option. Whole cows milk. Hardly vegan. Weird.

I’m spoiled. I’m lucky enough to live in a town that has multiple doughnut purveyors on more than one«best doughnuts in America» list. And that’s not lip service, these doughnuts are pretty f^cking awesome. I stayed basically across the street from Mighty-O and if I hadn’t discovered Morsel, I would’ve made it there much sooner. When we did stroll in, I was pleasantly surprised that there was no line and there was a good selection of doughnuts available. We got our doughtnuts and settled in at one of the free tables. We decided to get two doughnuts to share, a blueberry fritter and a chocolate peanut. We’re big fritter fans and Beiler’s in Philly is our blueberry fritter gold standard, and — in my opinion — very tough to beat. The fritter was fine, but blueberries seemed to be represented more in the glaze than the actual fritter. We prefer our fritters teeming with fruit and this fell short. The chocolate peanut was ok; they clearly used high quality chocolate because it didn’t taste sugary, just chocolatey. The cake of the doughnut seemed a little dry, but it may be that this doughnut worked better on a yeast base where the doughnut itself and the peanuts wouldn’t be competing for all of the moisture in my mouth. I liked Mighty-O, but never craved it or felt compelled to make additional visits to try more of their menu despite its proximity to where I slept.

Who doesnt like a donut on a Sunday morning while reading the paper, having a coffee, and relaxing on the couch? Came by here recently to grab a donut to-go, was pleasantly surprised on how big the space is, plenty of tables to sit at, nice coffee bar, a great selection of all kinds of donuts, and you can buy a Mighty-O tshirt while you’re there. They have seasonal flavors for donuts too, so I got the seasonal blueberry fritter, it’s like a apple fritter but blueberry and slightly darker in color. It was just as good as a regular apple fritter, not ridiculously sweet, nice crisp to it and very satisfying! Display case was filled to the brim with delicious donuts, so many options to choose! Staff was super friendly and helpful at 730am in the morning, which makes it inviting to come in again.

The Ballard space is beautiful and huge. Blueberry fritter was amazing! 5 stars. The french toast and peanut butter chocolate cake donuts were pretty tasty, but we noticed a little bit of a vegetable oil after taste. One of the people behind the counter was super nice, the other seems a little grump.

These are some good doughnuts! Better than any doughnut I tried in Portland. I had the crunchy french toast and the lemon one. French Toast was perfect. I thought the peanuts would taste gross with the rest of the doughnut but I was pleasantly surprised. I didn’t really taste the peanuty taste but the texture with the doughnut was absolutely wonderful. It wasn’t too sweet or bland. The lemon one was too sweet for me. The employees were nice but they didn’t really smile. Actually they looked indifferent and slightly bored. No problem, I just thought it was strange.

I was told this place was better than Top Pot donuts, and jury’s still out on that one. I’ll eat almost any donut out there, but I do appreciate a good donut. They’re almost hard to compare because they were so different. Mighty-O seemed to have more unique flavors, like an apple cinnamon cake donut and some kind of raspberry cake donut. While Top Pot seemed to have more of your classic donuts(maple bars, chocolate with glaze, etc.). IDK, they were both great. So it was good, but did I like it better than Top Pot? I liked them both. A lot.

Donuts are just as good as in the original location, which is to say simply incredible. Fresh organic ingredients that allow you to feel good after you eat them. Pro’s advice — warm in toaster oven and dip sweeter non fruit flavors in coffee(vita coffee at mighty o pairs nicely). The location is large and perfect for larger parties as well as kids. Nice clean interior allows for much more comfort than the original location. Staff is friendly and nice and selection I would imagine will be way better than the original until Ballard learns what a gem they have.

Wow. Best donuts in Seattle and they just happen to be vegan??? Yes please! I’m obsessed with three of their donuts… chocolate raspberry, grasshopper(mint chocolate), and French toast. This place is so good, and they serve amazing organic coffee by Café Vita as well! They’ve made a loyal customer of me for sure.

I was in Ballard and saw the new Mighty-O location and had to stop in. The exterior is a gray building with big, white letters that spell out MIGHTY-O and has a garage door entrance. The interior is large and spacious with lots of seating at chairs & tables and counter tops. The doughnuts were great too! I had a hard time ordering and figuring out which doughnuts were which with the obscured labels. I wish the workers would have been a little more helpful with that, or to recommend their favorite since some were specialty doughnuts I had never heard of. Anyway, I ordered the Devils Playground doughnut which was chocolate icing on a chocolate doughnut with sprinkles! Delicious!

So happy to have another donut option in Ballard. We stopped by Mighty O this morning(they’re open!) and we’re very happy with the donuts we got. We got a ½ dozen — French toast, traditional white cake with chocolate frosting, lemon poppyseed, raspberry, chocolate long john, grasshopper. I had the cake with chocolate(that’s my standard choice) and loved it. The cake was fluffy and not dense. The donut tasted so fresh! My biggest complaint with other big donut shops in Seattle is that they bake all in one shop at drive them to all the shops(ahhhemmmm… top pot). Might O makes all their donuts in the shops they sell from, and you can definitely tell a difference in the flavor. The lemon poppyseed had definite lemon flavor(a tart comparison to my chocolate frosting). My hubs loved the donuts he ate too. We didn’t get any coffee, but we’ll definitely be back. Welcome to Ballard, Mighty O!
