A new food truck to try at work today — I was way more excited about it than what my quinoa salad was giving me. With several colleagues enjoying a burrito from their truck, I asked how it was and they all said it was«really good». I didn’t feel like a burrito, but the fish tacos sounded good — so down I went to make my purchase. The menu describes the fish tacos as being parmesan-crusted with a pineapple salsa and coleslaw/shredded cabbage. My tastebuds were tingling at this very description — so I was pleased that in under 10 minutes from taking my order, my fish tacos were ready. I appreciated the fact that they put tin foil over the plate so the food would keep warm and would not spill to wherever I was about to enjoy my lunch. I hunkered down in the break room and thought the tacos looked good — though they could have looked brighter(garnished with sliced radishes, more cilantro, or more purple cabbage, perhaps?). Upon first bite, the tilapia was a noticeable flavor — I am not sure if that’s a good thing or bad thing — because I don’t like being able to taste my fish when I eat it. The fresher the fish, the less it should have a ‘taste’.(I’m not insinuating their tilapia wasn’t fresh, but possibly I just don’t like their tilapia??). The lemon(not lime) wedge was a welcome addition, as the tacos really benefitted from the hit of acid. I also added some of their avocado-pepper salsa for added kick, which helped a lot with flavor. The tacos themselves were filling, but I am fairly certain they were not parmesan-crusted, in fact they looked to be unseasoned and without a crust. I did noticed some melted cheddar on the taco below the fish, but I was obviously ordering — and hoping for — parmesan-crusted tilapia tacos. Again, the zingy saltiness of the parmesan would have made this taco stand out a bit more. Last thing — and I’m adding this as a personal picky comment — but the pineapple salsa was made with what I think was canned pineapple. I get that it’s cheaper, and definitely more convenient, to used canned pineapple — but it was so mild and unremarkable in flavor that it didn’t really add anything to the taco for me. I’d gladly pay a little more if they had incorporated fresh pineapple — that added tang, once again, would really be a hit on this taco. Would I try them again? Yes — I’ll probably try their other street tacos because, for me, the fish tacos didn’t fully deliver on my expectations. (Could my expectations be out of line? Possibly, but then again when I order something with a description such as «parmesan-crusted», I expect to get just that.)

Ate here during a car show in Kirkland last weekend, I decided to get the street tacos, I thought they were pretty good but they weren’t anything special, also kind of wished they had more on them and a little more flavor without having to add your choice of salsa on the side. For the cost though $ 5 for 3 I thought it was pretty good!

Asked for a mushroom quesadilla, they said you mean a mushroom burrito? No, a quesadilla with mushroom as the meat. The cook then educated me on the difference of a quesadilla, which was already pretty obvious. I wanted a quesadilla with mushrooms and cheese only. Apparently mushroom quesadillas are not possible with this truck, anyways, I walked away insulted and hungry.

We had a graduation party yesterday. We hired Maya’s Restaurant to cater the party. They brought their truck and we parked it right outside the fence of my yard. They also provided appetizers for the tables and then when people were ready they could go up to the truck to order their entrée. They also provided a bartender to help with service during the party. It was great! The food was great. Good quality and taste. The service was great. The staff was nice, especially the owners son who did most of the bar tending. Guests really enjoyed the novelty of the food truck. On another nice note, all of their utensils and plates were compostable so no throwing more plastics into our environment. We would definitely do this again. Thanks!

It’ll do when you’re short on time and it happens to be nearby. The meats are lightly seasoned and somewhat bland. Sadly they don’t have lengua, boo. Skip the fish tacos, it seemed like the fish was from a box straight out of the freezer. The ‘garlic fries’ were not crispy or garlic-y so save your money and carbs and skip those as well. The tacos are 3 for $ 5, and 3 for $ 8 for fish. The mulita and tamale are both ok at $ 2.50. If there is another taco truck around, go there instead. At least they take credit cards.

A pleasant alternative to regular Microsoft café food, Mobile Mayan is often encountered right outside Studio X. For ~$ 7, you can get a pretty enjoyable meal here! I ordered the veggie quesadillas to very satisfying results! Unlike regular café quesadillas which are half veggie, half air these quesadillas were nice and fat with veggies! I definitely tasted broccoli, which I didn’t expect, but very much enjoyed. The cheese filling was very generous too! The food was piping hot and the tortillas were just a little crunchy on the outside, yum! The only slight criticism I would make is that the food was too salty overall. Well worth the walk from building 42, I’ll make it a point to lunch at Mayan whenever they’re on campus.

I really like this truck has pulled pork and pulled beef. Most taco trucks serve only grilled steak, pork and chicken but they come out real dry. They don’t skimp with the meat here which I like. My favorite item is the Carnitas Mulitas. The 3 for $ 5 taco is a great deal. The tortas are great too. They get the bread from a bakery which makes it 10 times better than store bought.
