decent selection of sofas and chairs but customer service was poor. the one lady was busy but the other guy didn’t seem at all interested in assisting until i walked upto the desk and asked for help. he seemed to get mildly interested in helping once he realized that i was actually there to buy furniture?
there was a Huppe dining table i almost bought that day (either the floor model or order) but the guy broke something while showing me the extension — causing the extended piece not to align… when i asked about ordering it new he said it could take upto 12 weeks. when i contacted the manufacturer the estimated delivery time was 6 weeks. still want the table so looking for another store to order it.

Great experience buying a made in USA quality sectional at a great price. We actually had a return prior to ordering the sofa and Anthony the owner went above and beyond to accommodate us. Tracy in the showroom is fantastic to work with and we are planning on ordering additional items.

There were way too many items I wanted to buy in this store!
Sometimes I’ll browse through Pioneer Square and find myself lost (in a good way) among all of the amazing furniture stores. As I’m soon embarking on buying a condo, its great to pop in and look and what’s for sale. Rugs, lamps, sofas, bed frames, and even accessories.
I hadn’t been to MDS before and the gal working there when I went in was incredible kind. She wasn’t pushy, she didn’t follow me around, but as I was leaving she kindly flagged me down and handed me her card and thanked me for visiting. I’ll definitely be back for some serious shopping.

Once I started dealing directly with the store owner, Anthony, my experience in this store was unsurpassed. He was workable when it came to buying the sofa and he came through in a major way when the delivery date was misquoted and ended up 3 weeks later than planned. For this he offered a free delivery and scotch guard for the piece.
The sofa arrived in perfect condition, just as I ordered it, with no change to my fabric color or type. It is absolutely comfortable, sturdy and stylish. I would recommend anyone to this store and hope to find myself back there in the future looking for other great pieces!

I visited the store specifically for the various mid-​century modern chairs and other furnishings they offer. To begin with, I arrived at 11 am on a Thursday and had to wait almost ten minutes until the employee showed up to open the store, and by that time two of us were standing around debating whether we should give up. The quality of the Wegner Shell chair reproduction ($ 950) was in my view quite poor, with rough edges and evidence of delamination beginning on the showroom example. One might expect this if it were the least expensive reproduction offered, but the price was almost twice as much as other reproductions one can find online. The selection of finishes for both the shell chair and the Eames plywood chair I was shopping for was limited only to one veneer, not the three to five choices offered by many retailers. All in all I was quite disappointed in the quality of their offerings and in their service.

End to end a great experience. I wanted a mid century style sectional that was US made. I stopped in and was given a great shopping experience. I ordered one that was built in LA and the design, fabrics and build are exactly what I wanted. The sectional arrived 2 weeks early and was delivered right on time. They were professional from start to finish, I highly recommend them over the many other chain stores. For $ 1700, an American made couch from a local owner with perfect sales experience, makes this a great place to shop.

We ordered a Karma sectional with a couple upgrades on fabrics. We are very happy with the product and customer service. The lead time was 4 – 6 weeks, it came in 5. The delivery company did a great job with scheduling and promptly arrived in the 2 hour window they gave us. Everything was correct and we love our new couch. The selection is very affordable for made in the USA couchs. We shopped all the major department and furniture stores and they were the best as far as price, quality, and variety of options. I would highly recommend them for your next purchase. Annie was our sales person. Helpful and not pushy!

I was on Western Ave and I found Modern Design Sofa. The pricing was reasonable and the store had a few items that I liked.
When I placed my order for the sofa it came in about a month. The quality is very good especially for such a good deal.
I’m even impressed that the sofa is made in the USA. Very happy all around with my purchase.

We recently bought a leather sofa from Modern Design Sofas. When the sofa was arrived we had concerns about indentations and marks left by packing materials and did not accept delivery. Anthony was agreeable about that, but asked us to come to the store the next day to see how it looked «after a day of breathing.» The sofa had recovered by then, we paid the balance, and Anthony delivered it within an hour, himself! He handled the entire thing very well and I would not hesitate to recommend his shop. We’re planning to order a matching chair from him soon.

The start of the design process was great and loved the entire experience. I purchased a custom designed sofa and got exactly what I ordered from a design perspective. Unfortunately, the customer service after was less the comforting considering the $ 5k I spent on the couch. Just after deliver (12÷1÷09), i noticed it wasn’t quite according to the invoice and to date (2÷2÷10) still don’t have the issue resolved. Not exactly sure what happened, but I eventually had to step in and work with the builder directly since the store owner felt he had done all he could do.
