It had been probably 15 years since we’ve been here and it was still as good as we remembered. It was a little pricey for sushi, but given the location and service, it was expected. Our server was excellent, but the hostess was a little rude at first.

Sushi is decent. Don’t order the hot dishes. They are either too over cooked or lacking flavor.

I don’t understand how this place gets over 4 star ratings. We had omakase with other cooked meals, but our experience was very disappointing. The only item that was outstanding was miso soup(???). All the other dishes were just okay. I couldn’t taste freshness of fish because of overpowering salty or sour sauce. Omakase did not have enough sushi or sashimi, but cheaply presented fusion style dish that had only few pieces of tiny fish over mounds of overly dressed salad. Seafood tempura was too soggy and dense inside. Authentic tempura should be light and soft inside with crunchy coating. Nigiris came out as the last course before the desert. This order did not work well at all. My palates were already dulled or deadened by saucy starters and cooked fish. By this time, my stomach was already full, and none of nigiri pieces stood out to wake up my palates. Everything was just plain and boring. Desert was also a mediocre assembly of fruits abd ice cream. I had high hopes for this place, but Nishino did not meet my expectation. For omakase, in my opinion, Shiro is much better. Even the ambience at Shiro feels better for a Japanese restaurant. Modern deco of this place feels odd.

I came here for my birthday, a surprise from my husband, and it was hands down the BEST sushi dinner we’ve had ever. The fish was all delicious and fresh. The flavors and special rolls were amazing. The service was perfect and the atmosphere was pretty and zen. We ate these things: hamachi jalapeño foie gras and seared tuna(this one seemed like an odd couple, but it was INCREDIBLE if you’re into foie gras) snow crab and asparagus tempura roll curried seared halibut cheek spicy tuna roll house special roll(tuna, yellowtail, salmon and whitefish) Next time we’re going to try the omakase.

I came here for omakase, which is one of the few sushi restaurants in Seattle that even serve omakase! I am used to sitting at the sushi bar for omakase, but here they mostly serve it at tables. I didn’t know what to expect, but it turned out to be a fabulous meal. They have 2 pre-set prices depending on how much you want to eat, both very reasonably priced. I left feeling very satisfied and full! Every dish was fantastic. Very fresh, well prepared, beautiful presentation, and excellent seasoning/taste. The sushi fish selected was a good variety and there’s a lot of vegetables included which makes it a nice blend of food. Dessert was ice cream and a huge tray of fruits. The drink menu was a bit limited. I bought small bottles of sake, however I’m so used to a larger variety in California. The restaurant itself is not like your normal small sushi joint. It was large and spacious, serving many tables, and the décor was classy and elegant. A different twist from what I’m used to, but the food was definitely impressive. I can’t wait to go back! Service, by the way, was impeccable! Great place for a date.

I made a horrible mistake in eating a whole fondue set before coming here so I couldn’t really fully appreciate the sushi. However, it should speak volume about the quality and taste of the food here as I found it to be top notch even with a belly full of chocolate. Doesn’t exactly have a sushi vibe even with the kitchen in plain sight, but I guess it’s catered towards a more upscale crowd. I appreciate the limited parking in the lot, it’s a rare find in Seattle.

5 star sushi baby! That’s why you come here. Happy hour raw oysters nestled in a tangy spicy sauce. Slurrrp. As usual the place was packed but we got sushi bar seating by the door. It was a chilly night and the hostess offered to move us to a table when one opened up. As we settled in, I began to comment that it was actually quite cozy when I noticed they had placed a small space heater behind us. Very thoughtful staff. We proceeded to order our fav sashimi like yellow tail, ago, toro, scallops, etc. also got a soft shell crab roll, yumdelicious! Now let me take a moment to lament on technique which was my issue with Umi. The blades at nishino finely slice their fish exposing their freshness and texture. This is so important to enjoy sashimi. The roll was clean cut and right sized. A mouthful of sushi is lost on the gluttons. Sushi is about the fish, not anything else. Ok I get off my soap box now. All in all people, done here, pace yourselfThanks and enjoy these succulent morsels of ocean goodness. Sayonara. Ps: I intend to try the chefs meal $ 50 per person so I’ll be back with an update. Now to work hard for some dollas!

Have been visiting this restaurant for years and today I got a little bit disappointed by Chirashi. I can’t tell if shiitake mushroom taste bitter or my tongue went wrong. The Chirashi was not good as I expected Sockeye salmon is definitely not ideal fish in Chirashi bowl, no that much body fat. Tuna is bigeye tuna and it tastes like sponge bob square pants? I’ve been visiting so many jap restaurants And Nishino is always my first choice in Washington. But today I will choose Flo’s Chirashi rather than what I had today. Besides that, everything was perfect as usual.

Great service, high-quality ingredients and nice atmosphere. They give you a warm, steamy towel to clean your hands with right after you sit down, which I love! The soft shell crab roll is really tasty. You get four big pieces(like 2 to 3 bites each). Inside the roll you’ll find fried crab and avocado(I believe) and the outside of the roll is wrapped in cucumber. Yum! I don’t eat a lot of shrimp but the shiso shrimp dumpling with spicy yuzu sauce was good too. These consisted of a whole shrimp(minus head, legs, etc.) covered in the dumpling dough with maybe some sliced scallions thrown in there? The only problem is the shrimp are a bit slippery and difficult to pick up with chopsticks. Bonus: They have personal sized bottles of sparkling wine. Yes.

Suggest to make a reservation, we got seated right away while walk-ins had to wait. We did the dine around seattle, 3 courses for $ 33. The tempura green beans/tempura oysters plate made a good appetizer but i could tell it was not fresh because it was barely lukewarm. Ordered the steak and the assorted sushi which are both good but not amazing. Good service, parking lot is tight! We got lucky

It’s been hard for me to keep up with reviews nowadays, an establishment has to really tick me off or completely blow me away. I haven’t had omakase for almost a year now and since it’s such a treasured experience I like to preserve it to something I do twice a year(plus it prevents me from breaking the bank too much!) My first Seattle omakase was long overdue, it was one of the first meals I intended to have after moving here as a celebratory victory dinner. Nishino has long been on my radar and I’ve decided to do it prior to a trip decision and so I can continue training my taste buds and digestive system for more high level omakase. My previous omakase(at 15east) had overwhelmed me a little so this padawan needs to take it a few steps back in sushi training. For the month of March they currently have a dine around Seattle menu, mostly cooked dishes and a small sushi/sashimi selection. Since it was a no brainer, we ordered the sushi omakase for two. Chef Brian took care of us and filled our tummies up with 17 pieces. Based on the order of the journey: Kanpachi with sea salt — smooth, tender with just a hint of salt. Hirame with ponzu — really loved the shisho leaf hidden inside. Hamachi belly — lightly torched and semimelt in your mouth! Albacore belly — very tender and savory, my eyes went WOW when I ate it. I couldn’t imagine it getting any better than this but we weren’t even half way into the meal yet! Otoro and toro — the otoro could be fattier but both pieces were very fresh and tender Sockeye salmon — one of the classics, I liked the combination of ikura on top Sweet shrimp with torched Uni — this was my absolute favorite piece, it’s pretty ingenious to mix Uni with this. The tender sweet shrimp flavors being mixed with the soft sweetness of Uni — the bombdotcom basically Uni — I loved how cold the Uni was, it was a slight chill, it’s not as sweet as I’d hope it to be but nonetheless a great piece Mirugai — very chewy, the texture almost fooled me for squid Foie gras — the one I’ve been waiting for the whole night, it was a little salty for me but other than that it wasn’t bad Fried shrimp head — I’m not too keen on this piece but it always comes with any amaebi piece you get. Japanese wagyu — very tender beef and lightly grilled Hokkaido scallop — very soft and sweet after taste Anago — I usually fear for this piece because I’m not a big fan of eel. I find it too briny for my taste but Nishino did a great job on this. It was very easy to eat and it wasn’t terrible. Tamago — everyone does this differently, some turn it into a cake while some make it a sweet omelette and that’s what I got at Nishino What I really enjoyed was the pace, it was perfect and none of it was briny whatsoever. Sometimes I have that trouble with saba and mackerel. After my meal I was surprised with birthday mochi, my partner decided to surprise me early. I was told the mochi was made in house, it was a mix of strawberry and vanilla. I liked the hint of red bean in the strawberry mochi. It was definitely a great omakase to add to the books for me. The meal was extremely satisfying and many moments my cheeks couldn’t help but break into a huge grin because that’s how good the food was. This occasion has only happened twice before this and every time it was during omakase. I can’t wait to try omakase at other sushi places in town soon. I’m glad my first Seattle omakase was with Nishino. I’ve made up my mind, Japan will DEFINITELY be my next trip, thanks for helping me decide Nishino!

This is what sushi should be. Beautifully done and presented, absolutely delicious, and perfectly simplistic. We didn’t do the Omakase, but plan to splurge on it one day in the future. I had the combination sushi which included eight pieces plus a tuna roll. Everything on my plate was delicious. I also highly recommend the yellowtail collar — it was so tender and rich, and I never would have thought to order it!

I took my husband to Nishino for their Exclusive Omakase as a special birthday dinner. Priced at $ 85/person, it seemed reasonable for a 9-course meal. I’m not sure they should be calling it omakase, which typically means you interact with the chef(at the sushi bar), who learns your likes/dislikes and gives you offerings based on your reactions to the food he presents. This meal is more kaiseki, which means a pre-fixe menu of food offerings. What we really enjoyed was all of the fresh/raw food offerings in the dishes offered. We started with a sampler with king crab, fresh oyster, scallop, sweet shrimp and hamachi — all of this was fresh and delicious. The salmon tartare with roe followed, and it was also presented beautifully and good. Then the following cooked foods were meh — foie gras with seared tuna was over dressed and salty. The clam soup with enoki and radish sprouts was bland and boring. Super white tuna and salad with hamachi and fried lotus root were ok… nothing exciting. Our tempura dish came in a deep dish of sauce/liquid, so we barely got any crispy tempura, which was very disappointing. We finished with a plate of sushi offering amber jack, seared Wagyu beef and hamachi wrapped in soy paper. The dessert was a disappointing plate of fruit with ice cream and banana tempura. The ambiance at the restaurant is quaint, and the wait staff is excellent. I think we’d return just to try the sushi we normally prefer, but we’ll stick with our other favorite spots for omakase(where we sit at the sushi bar and interact with the sushi chef).

The best ingredients, perfect technique, and inspiration combine to create the perfect excuse to blow a Benjamin on lunch. This is my favorite once-a-year kind of place, especially in the winter when the fish selection is the best. Don’t expect a strict adherence to the classics, everything is remixed but nothing misses the mark. This place is unique and irreplaceable. An experience not to be missed.

My boyfriend took me here on Valentine’s Day for their special Omakase Dinner that you could get with reservations only. We parked in the garage lot which you can access through a street in the back. Parking is free and the elevator takes you up to the level you need to enter Nishino. When we arrived, we overheard a family leaving. The wife was upset that her husband had not made reservations as they were booked for the night and had to figure out other Valentine’s Day plans. Awkward! Their 6 course meal was delicious and beautifully presented. They were also placed before us in a timely sequence by the awesome waitress we had. Some of the items we enjoyed together were the raw scallops, oyster, cauliflower soup, sushi(especially the Toro), miso glazed rack of lamb, and green tea tiramisu. This was a very special dinner for us as we celebrated our 4th Valentine’s Day together. Everyone around us seemed to enjoy their night too, although I observed we were the youngest in the restaurant by at least 20 years. I think that’s due to the price rather than the décor or atmosphere of the restaurant. The omakase was $ 95 per person so not a cheap meal. But it was perfect for the quality and quantity of food we had for a special celebration.

Delicious and inventive. This place made my boyfriend, a meat lover, question his diet. The best dish here was a special — eggplant miso.(6⁄5) Yup. 6⁄5 for the surprise element of a veggie dish being my favorite. The eggplant was cooked to perfection in a miso based holy sauce, topped with sliced squash and zucchinis. Super generous portion! Tip: order with a bowl of rice to savor the sauce. When we asked the waitress what went into this sauce, she listed about 8 ingredients. I will try making it myself but may not achieve equal greatness. Albacore tuna tartare with taro chips(5⁄5) Great appetizers to share, the tuna was very finely mashed and topped with a salsa. The taro chips were also delicious and made in-house. Salmon avocado tempura roll(3⁄5): This special was ok, just not up to par with the other dishes. Also, the menu really should specify that this is COOKED salmon, not sashimi, which I expected. Chawanmushi(4⁄5): Hit the spot! Lots of toppings(spinach, shrimp, chestnut) but could use a bit more salt. Mochi ice cream/fresh fruit(4⁄5): Great way to end the night. So we saw many pictures on Unilocal of this delicious dessert, turns out it’s the omakase dessert. We didn’t get omakase but they made it for us! Basically it was fresh fruit and Mochi ice cream(raspberry white chocolate /chocolate espresso). I cannot wait to come back here again. Extremely authentic and service was outstanding. Be sure to make a reservation!

Although this restaurant is listed as wheelchair accessible, it isn’t. Only the bar is «accessible»(still it’s too tall for someone in a wheelchair). The actual tables are down a couple steps. I made the reservation with them through Open Table where I specified that someone in my group used a electric wheelchair. Shortly after I received a phone call which went to voicemail that stated that my reservation went through and to call if there were any questions. There was no mention of the inaccessibility. Luckily someone else in the group called to confirm and found out that there were stairs. I ended up canceling the reservation and haven’t actually been to the restaurant so I am not including a review of the food.

Standouts: — service; always attentive and friendly — hamachi jalapeño — perfect ‘kick’ — spicy salmon tartare — sitting on a bed of crispy rice aka awesome mini hash brown — dessert — deep fried banana with Madagascar vanilla ice cream — the perfect finish –sablefish — smooth and moist and creamy Decent efforts: — whitefish and arugula roll — don’t be fooled, it’s actually a tiny piece of arugula rolled in a tiny piece of whitefish(warm). While actually quite delicious, the portions were miniscule. ‘A’ for flavour, though! — tuna tartare — it was good and services with a few taro sticks… bit felt a little dry and that something was missing For reference: — the ‘calamari’ is not deep fried, it is grilled and sautéed. Still delicious, but it’s good to know this. Overall great effort and good food. The reason I am giving it 4 starts instead of 5 is for the service; very attentive and helpful all steps along the way.

May be personally biased because I prefer traditional Japanese to Japanese fusion, but while their fusion dishes were creative, I found the selection and flavor of their sushi to be underwhelming compared to other sushi restaurants in the same price range.(ie Shiro’s, Kisaku) Had the omakase this time. If I go back again will probably have to try some of their other signature dishes, but this won’t be my go to sushi joint.

Came here again last week to do the Exclusive Omakase since it sounded amazing. It is a lot of food, but everything is delicious! Absolutely loved our waitress — same one as last time :) She knows her stuff and is so incredibly nice. All in all — Nishino is incredible. Not only do they have a fresh and delicious selection of fish, they also know how to incorporate different aspects of Japanese cuisine to make wonderful and unique courses that aren’t just sushi. Exclusive Omakase includes 9 courses and is seasonal, so here is what we had December 3rd. 1. It started off with a plate of 5 small bites of different things(fatty torro with a quail egg on top, king crab, oyster, scallop, and sweet shrimp with some uni on top). 2. delicious salad — hamachi if I remember correctly, along with carrots, cucumbers and a delicious miso dressing 3. mushroom soup(SOGOOD… it comes in a tea kettle which is fun) 4. a dish that was a combo bite of fois gras, mushroom, and tuna… The sauce on this one was so good our waitress actually said some people ask for a spoon to scoop it up. So naturally we did… It tasted like a soysauce/red wine reduction… KILLER **already had eaten one of them by the time I realized I needed a picture of it** 5. salmon salad 6. halibut cheeks with a cilantro aioli 7. lobster tail and green bean tempura 8. a sushi plate of Amberjack, fatty Toro, spanish mackeral and a roll filled with 3 fish 9. Dessert — fried banana with vanilla ice cream, caramel sauce, and fresh fruit. I don’t think I could love fried bananas more than I did at Nishino. We also ordered uni before our dessert came because they have really good uni, and why not overindulge even more at such a great sushi restaurant?

Was in Seattle for thanksgiving weekend with family. Was craving sushi do decided to go somewhere really nice. High marks on Unilocal led us here(4.5stars). Place gets good remarks for cleanliness and ambiance Forgive me for the rest as I am from Los Angeles where I think we have the best sushi outside of Japan. Entrees arrived and I had to ask for wasabi and ginger. Not a big deal but I guess I take this for advantage eating sushi in Los Angeles Albacore(which is my favorite sushi) was a BIG disappointment here which probably most contributed to me giving this place negative points Black cod was a hit as was the yellow tail sushi. So was the salmon crispy rice cake(not shocking as we were in the northwest) To my amazement they did not have yellowtail belly nor did they have albacore belly. Which leads me to believe the fish were not as fresh as I am maybe accustomed to. Again, I am biased because I set out in search of the best sushi Seattle had to offer and wasn’t dissuaded by nishimo $$$ rating on Unilocal Bill was reasonable for what we had. But overall mediocre experience leaves me longing to return to north Hollywood’s Chiba restaurant which still serves as the gold standard for me when it comes to quality and taste

Do Not Get Omakase! IFor years, every time we come to Seattle we come to Nishino for its über fresh sushi that is perfectly prepared. We have also had the exclusive omakase numerous times in the past but something has changed? The ratio of cooked to sushi/sashimi is way off with too much cooked and fries items and the presentation average at best(with the finale dessert almost childlike presentation of fruit and mochi ice cream, very very disappointing. Service also seemed a tad off, but that may have just been an off night. My recommend is to not get the omakase

Wow. Ok, so you’ve seen all the 5-star reviews. And you might be curious as to what this 1-star rating is all about. So I’ll try to be as detailed as I can. I brought my wife here for a birthday dinner. We eat A LOT of Japanese so we do know a thing or two about freshness and quality. This review focuses on cost vs value. We ordered the exclusive Omakase $ 85/person. Our takeaways were: amateur-level creativity, paltry portions, poor value. The ‘omakase’ is deceptive: what we got was a set menu of average dishes in comically small portions amounting to nowhere near what the price was. The first course was three morsels of seared fish, wrapped with some leaves and sauces. I liked it. The fish didn’t taste super fresh or anything but the flavors went well with each other. Next, an appetizer that came in a small martini glass. Cubes of white tuna with avocado and radish leaves on a bed of seaweed. It was decent. But there was literally one tablespoon of it, the rest was filler seaweed, the kind that comes out of a bag dried and you stick it in boiling water for 2 minutes. I make this shit at home when I don’t have time to cook. Next up was a ‘soup’ served in a tea kettle. We were supposed to pour it out in a tiny teacup and sip it. Fine. It was a soup of boiled dried mushrooms, and two or three pea-sized cubes of halibut. To the untrained eye, this looks ‘artistic’. I call it putting some dried mushrooms from Uwajimaya in boiling water and putting it in a cute kettle. After the soup came a salad made for lilliputian people: two slices of tuna sitting depressingly next to 4 mouthfuls of safeway mixed-greens, with some dressing, and 2 taro chips. Someone consciously decided let’s put $ 0.20 of Safeway salad mix here and $ 0.10 of this taro, and absolutely no more. Hoping that the trend of ‘I can do this better at home’ would come to an end, the next course took it to another level. Two deep-fried miniature oyster meats came in a quarter-inch of lemony soup. Guess what happens when you put tempura in soup? Yes, it gets soggy and falls apart. Why did the oysters not come in the shell with some creative arrangement? Is it not far fetched to think they came out of a jar… Two bites, and that’s the 5th course in the bucket. $ 20 there, take my money. My plate was empty before the server had turned around. By now we were wondering, where the hell are the nice slabs of fresh sushi/nigiri/rolls? Thankfully, the next course was 6 small slices of sushi, with 3 of a kind. First was a lackluster Ahi, second halibut, third shrimp. My wife was unimpressed. Not fresh. Rolls were mostly rice and slivers of fish. The rice itself was poorly done, being too hard and tasteless. It was like eating cheap sushi from a shady takeout place. The final course was a child-sized black cod. It was fried, not grilled(eyes roll). There were even corners being cut on greens: about 3 pieces of chinese veggies were artlessly thrown on the plate(the kind you get for free at the ramen shop) with a sprinkling of fried mushrooms. I honestly felt like a fool eating those 3 greens. It’s the equivalent of someone putting 3 beans on a plate and saying eat this and charging you for it. The server came and said that dessert was next. Ah, good, I wanted it to be over. Give me some of that green tea tiramisu with red bean paste and I’m happy. But instead, we were given a plate of Safeway chopped fruit(3 kiwi slices, 4 oranges, 4 grapes, tiny cubes of melon) with 3 frozen mocha ice creams plonked on top of it, the kind you buy at Asian grocery stores. And one(yes, one) mint leaf with a hole in the middle of it placed on top. My wife and I looked at each other and I couldn’t restrain a giggle. It was like getting airplane food in economy class, in a $$$ restaurant. We discussed the consistent use of cheap and store-bought ingredients that shouldn’t be found at this price level. By this time I wanted desperately to leave this joke dinner. My wife and I walked out feeling so disappointed we were laughing at the outlandishness of it all. For $ 200 bucks we could’ve ordered from them a table full of salmon nigiri, mountains of sushi, and two dozen rolls. My wife’s 32nd birthday shall forever be marked down as the«The Day Nishino F*cked Us Over». It’s not really the kitchen’s fault – they’re just doing what they’re told – but man, head chef San, the deep of pocket Madison Valley crowd are easy to please! Wink wink The best place so far we’ve found for omakase is Shiro’s and Mashiko in West Seattle. The Mashiko omakase was $ 80FORTWOPEOPLE, the freshness of the sustainable fish is absolute, the grilled-then-flash-fried black cod is HEAVEN, and the artistry of the presentation is astounding. They even have shiso leaf-infused local craft beer. Food is art!

We’ve been going to Nishino for many years and always ordered a la carte… We decided to try their Exclusive Omakase last weekend and we were completely blown away. We’ve dined at many nice Japanese fusion restaurants around the world but Nishino gave us the best dining experience — hands down. The ingredients were impeccably fresh and high quality. Every course was perfectly executed, there was not a single disappointment(how rare is that?!). The meal flowed perfectly, with plenty of variety. The portions were generous, even with pricier ingredients. The service was excellent. The chef was helping FOH while the BOH cranked out dishes — this is a well run restaurant! The price was very reasonable for the quality, we felt that it was a bargain compared to Nobu, Morimoto, etc. We haven’t been this excited by a local restaurant since trying Altura for the first time years ago. We can’t wait to return to Nishino to try their nigiri omakase next time. Outstanding.

Come for the sushi and stay for the tapas. This Seattle gem is perfect for a cozy dinner with friends, or to bring a date. Tucked into the corner of a shopping center, Nishino was a pleasant surprise. Sharing is definitely the way to go as it allows for optimization of the options. I was blown away by the unique chawanmushi, a savory steamed custard egg soup that was an interesting take on a texture I’m far more used to enjoying as a sweet dessert. Another huge hit was the nasu dengaku, a japanese eggplant with miso sauce. The dish was so incredible I could have ordered 6 of these and left happy. Additionally, the dungeness crab, which was baked with mushrooms with spicy creamy sauce was decadent PNW seafood at its best. A heaping pile of fresh crabmeat atop a mountain of umami mushrooms. It was delightful. I know I was happy with the sushi as well, but honestly it was the small plates that I found the most memorable. Mochi made for a ideal finish to an already fantastic meal. I’m already looking forward to returning the next time I’m in Seattle.

It’s good, I like the atmosphere here. It’s comfortable and nice without being try-hard or trendy. There are some weirdos that dine here. 40+ year-old dudes with boat shoes lookin’ like they’re going on 65 that aren’t fooling anyone with the haircut they got from the Gene Juarez stylist they were trying to pickup. And their girlfriends who are the same age but are trying to dress 20 years younger like they’re in a Far East Movement music video. Either or, I come for the food so it doesn’t bother me. Just, someone let them know we all know they work for Amazon and no one thinks they’re in an episode of Entourage. They’ve got a lot of customers so you know the fish is going to be consistently fresh. Their geoduck dish was delicious. I can see why Nishino has so many fans.

Nishino has been my favorite sushi place in Seattle for as long as I’ve lived here, so this 4-star review will just be a placeholder for the 5-star update that will someday follow. I took my sweetie here tonight for her birthday… the sushi was wonderful(especially the albacore and toro and the arboretum roll… all amazing flavor and melt-in-yer-mouth texture), as were the cocktails and the service, but I swear it was the loudest restaurant I’ve ever been in. We could barely hear each other. Normally Nishino has great ambiance, but the ambiance tonight was like an English soccer game. Our server said it was pretty normal for a Saturday… point taken! I’ll stick to weeknights in the future.

A nice fancy place for fancy dinner with fancy friends! I had a great time at Nishino with the great food, service, and ambience. Since I was just visiting and hadn’t rented a car, it would’ve been difficult to access but since my friends were able to drive, it was nice to be able to experience this. My boyfriend and I decided to order a few things off the special and appetizer menu; however, we didn’t actually pick any sushi. This might not have been the best choice since it is a sushi house, but the food was still very good. We shared the geoduck, which was a very interesting dish with unfamiliar texture and taste, the softshell crab, which was very tasty, and other dishes that I can’t remember at this time. While it is a bit pricey, it’s very good quality. As with all sushi restaurants, the portions are a bit small, so check out the menu and get a few things to share and try! Also, the parking lot is very tight and pretty small. You could park on the streets/in the neighborhoods, but watch out for cars.

We were visiting Seattle and our friends took us to this place. We had one of the best meals of our lives. Amazing, delish, fresh sushi! We enjoyed it so much. Great service and beautiful presentation as well. I can’t wait to come back to Seattle so I can come back to Nishino!

I’ve been going to this restaurant for years and have always loved it. From when I was a picky kid and would only eat plain rice with miso soup, to now, where my palate is far more adventurous. The fish is always fresh, they have a wide variety of dishes, all of which are fantastic. I went here for the first time in a year or so. I had a special roll, it had salmon, avocado, and mushroom and was cooked tempura style, I have never had anything like it and it was absolutely delicious. I loved everything I had. I loved the tartare, crab roll, crab spring roll, tuna salad, I even loved the tofu salad. You can have a nice light meal here, or a heartier meal. This will always be a favorite restaurant of mine.

I went to nishino and got the Dine Around Seattle menu. What a cozy little restaurant! We started with a complimentary bowl of miso soup, then the first course was the tempura bean and oyster, followed by the sushi set with the wine pairing, and finished with green tea tiramisu. I also ordered a tekka roll. My date got the mushroom and asparagus salad, beef negimaki, and cranberry orange sorbet. Everything was delicious! The miso soup in particular was really good and smokey and had a more complex flavor than other restaurants I’ve been to, but my favorite part of the dinner was the gruner veltiliner that was paired with my sushi set. When it comes to the sushi, the tekka maki had a lot of wasabi, which I personally love but some people dont. The only thing I wasn’t really a fan of was the veggie roll. This place is great if you’re a sushi purist. They don’t have any crazy rolls with lots of sauce or cream cheese. If you want some heartier, the beef negimaki was really delicious and perfectly seasoned. I think I preferred the mushroom and asparagus salad to the tempura but they were both good. I don’t think any of our dishes are on the normal menu, but I could tell it’s just a high quality restaurant with really really good wine(and probably sake). I just don’t recommend you come here if you are looking for more«Americanized» sushi rolls with lots of toppings and sauce. If you want that, go to umi!

Ooh baby like it raw like shimmy shimmy ya ~~~ I’ll keep it short. First time? All you need to know, OMAKASEEXCLUSIVE is $ 85/person and absolutely worth it. Call ahead to make a reservation. Leave it to the chef to curate an unforgettable dinner. TK x Chautime Ep. 2 First course: felt like Eve — Let me blow ya mind was playing in the background as I was eating. Standouts: hamachi, tuna belly, kampachi, sweet shrimp, toro, and seafood miso. To say that every slice of fish was fresh is an understatement. Dessert: mochi ice cream w/fruit. Best mochi ice cream I’ve ever had. Give me that funk, that sweet, that na$ty, that gushi stuff. Nishino is perfect for any occasion. Currently, my favorite sushi restaurant in Seattle!
