Very helpful staff… very overwhelming selection so just look at the blown colors and make your list. Check the sales and scrap piles! Will ship out of state orders and not charge tax so sometimes it’s cheaper to ship home instead of hand carry back.

I guess glass blowers aren’t into writing Unilocal reviews but Olympic Color Rods is an awesome store and I am not even an artist. We visited Olympic Color on a recent trip to Seattle. We got the rental car and went straight to the store because my fiancé was very excited. It didn’t let us down as it has over 400 colors of glass and glassblowing and torchworking tools. I noticed the Jim Moore tools looked to be the same price from what I remember on his website. They are great tools that I highly recommend. They also had overstock sales on certain glass color so check the website and don’t miss out on the 35% off. We somehow ended up only spending just over $ 200, which isn’t bad with the variety of colors and supplies they have. They also have drinks and snacks for you which is a nice touch. You will need a refresher especially if you are from out of town and trying to make sure you don’t miss anything. The employees were very helpful if you have any questions or for finding certain colors. I wish we had a place like this in the San Diego area! Olympic Color Rods is a no brainer 5 star as its tough to beat the service, selection and price.

I am so lucky, as a glassblowing student, to live in the glassblowing center of the world. And living within walking distance to Olympic Color Rods is among my blessings.
They carry every color in the rainbow in bar, cane, frit and powder, from Reichenbach and Zimmerman. They have student packs and scrap packs, perfect for different practice levels. They also have tools and books and safety supplies. I can’t resist their premade millefiori cane. Follow them on Facebook for info about clearance sales where you can stock up on great deals.
