At last an optical shop with a fantastic selection of frames, easy SLU location on Dexter and Aloha and an owner, as warm and delightful as he is knowledgeable! John Toelken knows glasses — he’s been in the business for decades and he knows how to match frames with face shapes for flattering results. What I really like about Optical-Nerve is the range of prices for frames available. You can purchase a pair of glasses priced around $ 200.00 (plus AND minus!) or opt for more expensive frames — including vintage, European limited edition specs and edgy (fabulous!) Japanese eyewear! Oh, and lenses are priced fairly here — high quality without breaking the bank. Can’t wait to get my next pair of glasses here (thank you, John, for putting a gorgeous pair on hold for me while I make my final decision). Service, selection, location — as good as it gets!

Fantastic shop! Brand new, just opened in the SLU neighborhood. Great selection of frames and sunglasses. Very edgy, modern, fun, sleek, and conservative options for all styles. The owner John is very accommodating and excellent customer service. I only had one week to get a pair of frames with lenses and John offered to come in even when the shop was closed to help get me my frames in time. Overall, great experience with high quality lenses and frames at a very reasonable pricing. Even if you don’t wear glasses, check out the shop for sunglasses!

Excellent location, modern shop. Great selection of designer classic and one-of-a kind frames. Very knowledgable about frames and lenses. They have been in the optical field for many years. They will be making my lenses right in the shop. They are not sent somewhere else to be made. My lenses are normally pretty thick. They will make my lenses even thinner. I tried on frames and am waiting for some designer frames to come in before making my final decision. I will definitely be purchasing them here!
