An outstanding find! Referral from a colleague. Dave was extraordinary. Very fast response, outstanding PC/​Microsoft Office expertise, very professional and service-​driven. He quickly and fully answered a desperate request for troubleshooting and worked remotely with me to address. Resolved the issue within 15 minutes. Dave was incredibly responsive to my phone calls and came to our home to assess a hard drive failure, back up data to an external hard drive, and clean up adware and unneeded programs from a second desktop computer. He provided lots of helpful information and tips. Prior to his visit, at my request, he suggested a new wireless router that we ordered ahead of time for him to install. Dave is very knowledgeable, very professional, and very pleasant to work with. Customer service is definitely important to him.

My small business needed a technology makeover — hardware, software, the works. After struggling to purchase and install the system on my own, David not only saved the day — he saved us 20+% on equipment and untold hours on integration and evaluation. I would work with David again.

First of all I am not a techie… We had a wireless router & modem upgrade we needed to do and were a bit overwhelmed by all the options available. Dave gave us product suggestions ahead of time which was very helpful, and we bought them on the web to save money. (So he wasn’t trying to cash in on a mark-​up with the equipment.) Then for the actual appt he was on-​time and very efficient. He made sure our security settings were correct and confirmed that the new equipment was optimized for our home’s network. Furthermore, when I inadvertently switched a setting after he had left, he was quick with a follow-​up call that saved the day.
Despite his website sounding like sort of a bigger, run of the mill company, make no mistake Dave provides the small town attention to detail and pleasant attitude that should make anyone more than satisfied.

I contacted Dave for help and after a few emails and a phone call – all very prompt – Dave gave me all the information I needed to solve my problem. Not all IT guys are created equal!
Dave has been setting up our network, adding new hardware, and providing us with excellent IT solutions for the past several weeks. He has been a great find for my small electrical contracting business.
Dave has collaborated with us by introducing new technologies that will help cut our overhead costs and reduce our paper consumption by 99%. He also took the time to research several apps, such as gps tracking, which will improve dispatching operations and make fleet utilization more efficient.
Dave is quick to respond to my e-​mails and texts and answers his phone when he’s able. I’m super-​comfortable leaving Dave alone at our office if I need to run out for an errand.

I went and saw Dave based on the reviews on Unilocal and because I needed to get files off my hardrive from a laptop that died.
It was fantastic to work one on one with him and get my files the same day rather than drop it oft at a big store. He is fast and efficient. I got all the files I needed off of the computer. He double checked to make sure the files were successfully transfered onto my jump drive.
I really appreciated that he charged me to the time I was there and didn’t try to waste time or add time to the session. He is completely trustworthy, helpful and a nice person.

Our computer had been smelling like melting plastic and getting burning hot on the back. After a few days of worrying that we were breathing toxic fumes and that our desktop was about to die, I called Dave bright and early on Monday morning. He was super nice, agreed with my suspicion that it was probably the power supply failing and said he could come over that very morning to fix it up.
A couple of hours later, he showed up with a smile, a new power supply and all his tools. He double-​checked the problem, promptly fixed it, and then cleaned up the inside of our tower and checked my desktop for any issues. He streamlined our start-​up, installed an ad-​blocker, and did some other things to tune it up. He also checked my laptop (which hasn’t worked quite right since my 3-​yr-​old dropped it) and installed a hard-​drive fixing software on it.
All the while, he chatted with me and interacted with my rambunctious kid and my noisy baby. He is obviously knowledgeable, very friendly and reasonably priced. I would recommend him in a heartbeat and will be calling him back whenever we run into new computer issues.

Had a new, unrelated problem with my computer, and just like last time, Dave showed up, got the job done and the bill was less than I expected. Thank you Dave!

I’ve been using PC Consulting for at least five years and have had to call them to resolve problems about twice a year. Both my wife and I work from home and have a tangled mess of personal and work PCs everywhere. And though I have a fair degree of computer literacy, I invariable encounter issues beyond my expertise. A call to PC Consulting always results in same day engagement and is most often resolved right then.

I have been using Dave as my PC support person for several years now. He can almost always fix my computer issues long distance in a matter of minutes. He also gives great advice on products to buy such as back-​up software and anti-​virus programs. My home computer wouldn’t agree to turn on, and since I work from home, my work was severely hampered. I didn’t know who to take my computer to for a fix other than the Geek Squad at Best Buy, who haven’t been very helpful to me in the past. I figured I’d have to just suck it up and go buy a new, more compliant desktop computer that day. However, I checked with Unilocal first just to see if there were any shops nearby that might be able to fix my computer. I’m really happy I came across PC Consulting.
Dave was able to help me immediately. I brought him my computer, he tried a bunch of things to diagnose, and even though he confirmed that my motherboard had joined the Great Computer in the Sky, he was able to save my hard drive and memory and install it in a really inexpensive, temporary solution. He also gave me some great suggestions for my next computer even sending me a link to a great deal on Dell’s website ($ 200 off!) for a computer ideal for my usage.
He’s a really nice guy. We chatted for a little bit more about geeky stuff before I took my temporary computer home to see if I could again VPN to my company. Success! Thanks to Dave, I was actually able to finish my work for the day, a feat I really didn’t think I’d be able to achieve, let alone in just a few hours from when I discovered my original computer was dead. And I spent a couple Benjamins less than I’d expected.

I have had the luck of working with Dave for a number of years and frankly without being able to call on him at the drop of a hat and knowing that he solve whatever problem we are having at the time — our business would have suffered greatly. Not only has Dave been able to coordinate a number of computers, software and networking systems that we have — he is always readily available when the inevitable, occasional computer problems occur. Without our computers our business would literally come to a halt — but thanks to Dave we’ve never missed a beat!
And even thought it’s completely outside of the ‘computer’ world — Dave always seems to have solutions to any of the things that stump us. He’s helped up situate our phone systems, find ink for ancient printers, install and upgrade our security system — he’s a jack of all trades — you won’t be disappointed!

Over the last 7 years, I’ve hired Dave Winsor of PC Consulting, Inc. on a number of occasions to: network my computers, replace a hard drive, restore backups, make my PC run more efficiently, load software, and basically fix the wide range of bugs that have invested themselves without my knowing.
Every time, and with lightening speed, Dave has come through. I always learn short cuts and strategies as he sets up reliable back up systems & other time saving tools. Most recently, he even moved my precious data from what I thought was a dead hard drive on to a new laptop, and uncovered how to simply and *without added cost* increase my Internet speeds by 5x.
