This is a small store with excellent customer service and lots of things for kids. You can even make your own lotion here and choose your fragrances. They have books and creative things. I probably won’t be back and it’s a nice place for other people to enjoy. Probably best for folks with children.

We just held my daughter’s 4th birthday party at Planet Happy, and we couldn’t be… happier! The staff was outstanding and worked well with the children as they led them through building glass terrariums(which are beautiful). If children wanted to get up and roam around a bit(which happened because we had 2 under 2), it wasn’t a problem. There was a bit of foot traffic coming in(people shopping in their little store), but it really wasn’t a big deal. The staff was also extremely responsive via email and phone leading up to the party, answering all of my questions. It’s a beautiful store, with great people. I think the price per child was a bit steep, but other than that, it was nearly perfect. We’re fans! P. S. The little birds and hedgehog are pretty neat too!

Planet Happy Toys is a beacon of hope in a world of lead-painted Spongebobs and toxic sippy cups. What sets this place apart is that the owner has painstakingly researched the companies she works with, so that you can be assured when you shop here you are buying toys that are as safe for the kids as they are for their mother(earth, that is). Each toy’s price tag has a little code to clue you in on all the socially responsible highlights of that particular item, like whether it’s organic, fair trade, green, etc. Some of the toys might seem a bit pricey, but you’re paying for quality and peace of mind(plus importing them from somewhere other than China). What makes up for any heartburn over the pricetag, though, is that for every $ 10 spent here, they will plant a tree! The space is small, but they still manage to have something for everyone, from babies on up. The little back toy nook has a fun hands-on play area and a cool sailboat seat to climb on, and up front there’s a low table and chairs for testing out toys or joining in the activities, classes, and parties that they host from time to time. Planet Happy’s owner is very friendly and happy to chat or help you find what you’re looking for. The store has some pet mascots, too, in the form of a little hedgehog and a teeny flock of colorful birds. All good reasons to take a detour from U Village to this eco-friendly neighborhood toy shop!

I love the idea of this place — it’s nice to know that if you do buy something here it will be eco friendly and sustainable. I find that really important. I personally love the hedgehog and birds they have always looked very clean and happy places to me.

A nice concept but very very pricey for a neighborhood toy store. It’s very cluttered, hard to walk around without touching stuff. No bathroom. Birds in cages, fun for kids, but not everyone likes to see animals caged up. Owner seemed to watch what you were doing when kids were playing with different stuff. Not a whole lot of variety in toys, yes wooden, eco friendly stuff, but very bland stuff. My kids didn’t want to pull much off the shelves to try out.

So I checked this place out with my 2 year old. Great concept, lots of cool stuff and fun activities for the kids to see and do. A couple problems– no bathroom– not sure how this could be the case but I asked for one to change a very stinky diaper but was denied– had to go out to the car to do it, seems strange for a children’s store where they want you to spend time. The other– the birds they have caged were dying of thirst. I watched them freak out for about 10 minutes then finally said something, not sure how long they were without water… the other thing, they staff was just not friendly. Hopefully this improves someday, I would love to go back but just to inconvenient for now.
