Pony Express-Lake City

Knocking back a couple stars for attitude on our latest notary experience. I got a very condescending, «Do you know what your husband is trying to pull here, little lady?» type of inquiry.
A. Not your business (all a notary attests to is that I’m me and I signed the document).
B. Yes. We decided on this approach to our finances together, thank you.

I live in Shoreline but go here to Lake City because they are simply the Best
with regards to fulfilling your shipping/​postal needs!

Moved my PO box from UPS store to here and it’s great. Very organized and friendly. Wish their hours were longer but you can request a key if you need, although that doesn’t help with other services. Very satisfied.

Rod and Marie are great to work with. I’m always the one who needs a last minute stack of color copies and they always come through for me.

Walked into this place for the first time, barely made it a few feet into the business before I felt like walking back out. Completely unfriendly. Every person behind the counter scowled at me when I walked in. The building smells like dust and mildew. I still tried to check out what it had to offer. The more the two women behind the counter talked to me with a condescending tone, the more I realized I would much rather take my business elsewhere, especially since most other places have much more completive prices. Won“t go back, would not recommend.

The notary left an inky fingerprint on my medical school diploma when making a copy of it. I would have expected someone who does this professionally to take more care of important documents like diplomas when performing his/​her duties.

They provided me with excellent customer service at an extremely good price. It has been a long time since I have been treated that well at any business.

20 year UPS Driver Bill says this place is outstanding! They not only provide many different shipping services, they also care about their community of Lake City! Many businesses like these come and go. Rod and Marie have decades of knowledge and customer service under their belt. How many shipping centers can honestly say that? I know of none. Want the best? UPS BILL

I know someone who goes to this place and they recommended it to me. I figured since I needed to get a few things printed I’d go. I had planned to go awhile back so I called about their papers and their prices, it was 49 cents for a color copy and 10 cents extra for 110 lb. paper. I went in today and I won’t be back, I stood in front of the counter waiting to be helped by a man just standing reading what look like a newspaper. It took him awhile to even acknowledge me standing there and when he walked to the counter, he didn’t even bother saying hello.
I didn’t let it bother me and I went on explaining what I would like done. While I was talking to him that I wanted to get a few things printed on 110 lb. paper, he interrupted me to tell his wife that I needed something printed. Normally I wouldn’t mind, but he was very loud it was almost like shouting, extremely unprofessional.
After re-​explaining what I would like done to the wife, she asked for my usb (she said thingy, but I knew what she meant) and printed me a sheet to see if i was satisfied. It was okay, i wasn’t impressed. The paper was okay, the printing, not so much. It seemed like they didn’t change the ink out, the print wasn’t saturated with color, and some spots were blotchy. I really needed to get this printed (and knowing my self if i didn’t get it printed now, i would procrastinate and it would never get done) so I settled for the sub-​par quality. When I asked how much each sheet would be she said it was 59 cents for a color copy and 10 cents extra for 110 lb. paper. This was a different price than what I was quoted, I paid for it anyways. I gave her the money and she entered it in wrong giving me the wrong change, she fixed it but still all in all I didn’t have a good experience at this store. I regret coming to the pony express and not going just a little farther to get it printed at an actual fed-​ex store.

This place is awesome. We have been using them for one thing or another for over 20 years. Current owners Rod and Marie really care about their clients. The shop is clean, well organized, and has a whole bunch of products and services to help both businesses and individuals. In addition to the mailboxes (and they do a much better job of sorting than my home postal carrier) they do packing and shipping, money transfers, fax, copies, large scale and canvas copies, basic office supplies, greeting cards, and even snacks while you are being served. I love the email service that tells me when a package has arrived, and I can check their website to see if the mail has arrived for the day. I can’t imagine how they could add any other services to their store, but every year they have something new.

Wow — I haven’t review this place. The only thing I go here for is to pay my overdue electric bills just in time. The husband and wife team that own this place are always friendly. If I lived closer and needed their services I would come in when without hesitation.

I have had a business mailbox at the Pony Express for several years now, and rely on their excellent service. Their shipping expertise is first-​rate, and I love the convenience of not having to worry about my packages getting left out in the rain, misdelivered, or abandoned on my doorstep with damage.

I have had a PO Box at this location for about five years. Its owned and operated by Rod and Marie — personable, professional and helpful.
I will always take my packages to them to be packed as they’ve shipped some pretty delicate things for me in the past and they’ve always arrived on time and intact.
And they are good corporate neighbors — interested in local issues and causes. It’s a much homier and friendlier place to do your shipping than one of the big national chains.
