ProSki Seattle

I went in to rent skis and these guys were awesome– they gave me a great price and I loved the equipment. If you buy skis, they allow you to discount some of the cost of the rental, so I just got a great price on my new skis, which were also on sale. When they were helping me pick the skis out, they took the time to really understand not only what kind skier I was, but what type of skiing I liked to do (primarily on groomers versus powder, how fast, etc.). I’m super psyched about my skis, and plus these guys were fun to hang around with while they were setting up my equipment. I would definitely go back for future purchases, and recommend that any of my friends who are interested in renting equipment go to ProSki.

They killed a pair of skis and the owner tried to weasel out of dealing with it! I’m not kidding you… I brought in a pair of skis to be mounted and in the process they dimpled the base. (Which means that they drilled too far into the ski and the screws popped out the base itself… it’s an irreparable mistake.)
When I went to pick them up, the owner stepped away from a client to let me know that they had made an error in mounting the skis, they had pounded it back but if I looked closely I’d be able to tell, and told me to come back mid-​season or something and they’d hook me up with a free tune up or something else. (I can’t remember his name… the shorter one. The tall guy was actually great to deal with.) I naturally assume the best in people, so I didn’t suspect anything out of line was going on. I also have enough miles under my belt to know that you can screw things up (drill a hole in the wrong place & fill it, etc.) and — even though it doesn’t look as nice — keep the ski totally skiable and whatever… life is full of mistakes so I don’t get hung up on this sort of thing.
HOWEVER… when I got home and took a closer look, I discovered the extent of the damage… they had drilled all of the holes too deep, the base was completely rising, and there was literally a screw head that I could feel in the base of my ski. For anyone who doesn’t know… this mistake literally kills the ski… there is no way to repair the base from this level of damage and it more than calls for the shop to replace the skis. No, I’ve never asked anyone to replace a pair of skis before — this is hands down a full replacement situation.
So I contacted him to let him know I’d taken a closer look and that the damage was more extensive than I had assumed and that we needed to work it out. Then he started trying to weasel out of it… He tried to blame it on Black Diamond (the binding manufacturer), he tried to blame it on Volkl (the ski manufacturer), he tried to tell me that if I really wanted them replaced, that he was going to file for a warranty with BD and that it would be months, if ever that they came through with it. BS like that.
I admit, I’m a bit timid in confrontation, so I took this information to ponder and to check out with others. I’ve been skiing seriously for many many years, and as a result I have good friends all over the ski industry — shops, mechanics, manufacturers, mountains… After running the story past several people, the unanimous feedback was that they killed the skis and that when this happens the shop delivers a new pair of skis to the customer. Ski mechanics are human & ski mechanics make mistakes, but you take your skis to a shop so that the work is backed up. If you want to shoulder the outcome of potential mistakes, then you take them to your own garage & do the work themselves.
When I went back to him again with more research of the issue under my belt, he immediately backed off & replaced the skis.
Like I said, I don’t fault them in the least for making a mistake — mistakes happen. I do fault him for pushing the limit as far as he could and doing everything he could to weasel out of having to do the right thing upon making a mistake like this. I never should have had to even ask a question… What I should have received was a phone call when the mistake happened, that said «we’re sorry, but we made an irreparable mistake when mounting your skis and we are ordering a new pair in. They’ll be ready next week instead of tomorrow.» End of story, integrity maintained, customer retained.
The shop isn’t bad in terms of the gear they stock. Decent gear for Seattle. But I don’t plan to ever go back & I wouldn’t recommend going near it to anyone else either. SHADY!

I called ahead to check if they had rentals on a busy holiday weekend. Luckily they did! The staff was great. Brandon had skis set aside for me by the time I got there. I will be renting from them again!

The guys at Pro Ski are hands down the most knowledgable boot fitters in town. These guys know what they are talking about and will work with you to make sure you have a good fit. They can be swamped as it’s a small shop and a popular one for good reason.

My ski boot was missing some hardware, so I called Evo in Fremont (where I bought the boot a year earlier) and they told me all they could do was send it back to Atomic for repair with a lead time of 8 weeks. I had a trip coming up in two weeks so this wouldn’t work for me.
Instead I took the boot here and they fixed it in 10 minutes with some similar hardware that works fine. The guy asked for $ 10 cash — and I only had $ 5, and he said that was enough and don’t worry about it. These guys are very courteous and funny. This is the way customer service should work. Bring them your business!

Went to the shop this past Saturday 1÷23÷16 as I dropped weight and wanted to find out if my bindings needed readjustment. The shop was busy and I didn’t mind waiting. Within 10 minutes one of the guys checked the settings and told me it was fine. I asked what I owed and he smiled and told me ‘no charge, just come back’ and I certainly will. Great customer service and we’ll continue to bring our gear here for tune ups!

Best ski shop in Seattle. I used to always buy my ski gear at REI but the level of service at Proski Seattle is so much better. Ask for John if you want a quality boot fitting. Check them out while the pow continues to fly.

Mike and Michael are extremely skilled/​knowledgeable in regards to recreational and backcountry skiing. Their attention to detail and drive to help you succeed are a rare find!

These guys are top fucking notch! Procrastinated a bit on mounting my new J Skis. Walked into Pro Ski with some goodies for the crew and walked back out less than an hour later with a proper quiver! THANKS FELLAS! PRAY FOR DEEP!

Excellent knowledgeable staff, if you need ski boots this is the place to go! You have the most knowledgeable guys in the industry ready to form fit your foot to a boot for the best fit.

I went to Pro Ski to rent ski equipment for a weekend trip to Whistler and they were amazing! I called beforehand to get rates and the person I spoke to was extremely nice and helpful. My friend and I went on a Thu evening to get our stuff and they helped us right away. They were extremely nice and friendly and the guy I spoke to remembered me. He helped get me setup with equipment and then they even gave us a deal on the rental equipment even though it was not only a holiday weekend but we were going to have the equipment almost five days but only skiing for two! They were awesome — I definitely recommend them and will go to them in the future!

Incredibly helpful shop. The new owners helped me with a problem left over from the old owners, and were super helpful all along. Also fixed some boots and other things I’ve broken over the years — always friendly, looking out for my best interests. Can’t recommend this place enough as a shop to buy and get stuff fixed in Seattle.

As soon as I started talking to one of their friendly employees, I could see the deep rooted passion he had for hitting the slopes, backed up with an immense amount of knowledge. His attention to detail was phenomenal, and now my boots which had been killing my feet, have been heat molded, and are so comfortable!

New owners, new (absence of) attitude — you can disregard the older reviews here about snotty, indifferent employees. The current crew is exceedingly helpful and passionate about skiing, and about getting you out there skiing. You won’t get this level of service at a larger shop. Couldn’t be more pleased with the way they worked with us, and we walked out with excellent gear at a decent price, and boots that really really fit.

Great selection of skis, gear, and attire. The staff is super informed and friendly, and really helpful. I needed bindings mounted on my new skis, they were SUPER busy, but STILL managed to do me a favor and have them set and ready to go for Saturday night. Can’t recommend these guys enough.

How do I love thee, Pro Ski? Let me count the ways:
1. Knowledgeable, friendly, AMAZING customer service. Love the new owners. I got my kids’ skis, boots, poles etc. for the season and they hooked me UP. I got updated gear at a decent price and Taylor was patient and kind to my children, who were bouncing off the walls that day. He’s good dude.
2. My friend just took her kid there and they hooked HER up for a decent price. And, what’s more, they had her new skis (complete with adjusted bindings) ready on the SAME DAY so that our friend could go skiing with us the following morning. And they were BUSY. But they did it anyway. Why? Because they’re awesome.
3. It’s just plain fun to be there, in all of that cozy, ski-​loving goodness. The energy there is great. Lots of humor and good (ok some bad) jokes made by fellas who clearly know and love what they’re doing. The folks at Pro Ski seem both glad and grateful you’ve chosen to do business with them. Personally, I feel annoyed when I spend money in a place and the employees act like they are doing me a favor. You will feel happy you are helping keep this little place in business.
Reasonable prices and top-​notch service, delivered by friendly, good people. Where else in Seattle will you find this? If you’re not at Pro Ski, you won’t. So get thee to Pro Ski and let them hook YOU up.

These folks do fantastic work. I typically come here for anything I need done on my skis. Any service greater than a basic mount, I never go elsewhere.
If you need work done in a rush, they’ll make it happen. (Helps to bring in a case of brew)
Beware though, they’re not really a customer service oriented operation. Pro Ski is a place where you’ll get professional, frank advice from folks who really know what they’re talking about. Unfortunately, they’ll treat you like it.

I love this Core Shop! They have all your hard good needs. I had my boots fit here by Tim a few weeks back. I was so happy with how patient Tim was with me and worked to make sure my boots felt amazing!!! Good boots will take you a long way on the hill. You just can’t get maximum performance without a well fit boot.
This isn’t a huge shop, but they can pretty much get whatever you need. They focus all all their energy on the hard goods so you won’t find clothing. But that ski or boot you are looking for they will have. Also they seem to have a lot of backcountry/​climbing gear.
