I am sooo mad at myself right now. Not only am I still hungry but I am sick as well. I should have dealt with the crowd at Thai Curry Simple but no I kept walking right to Hing Loon(now Red Sky) to get some chow fun. HA!!! They no longer have chow fun. I should have left right out the door and left the only other person wishing he had of left too by himself. It took me about 15 minutes to decide on what to get. I ordered the lunch special of shredded pork with dried tofu. It came with steamed rice, an egg roll and soup for $ 9.99. DON’T DOIT. I AMSTILLFEELINGWHOOZYANDSWEATY! The egg flower soup with seaweed was horrrible. Salty and just gloopy(is that a word). The egg whites had curdled and it was just horrible. The eggroll was just plain cold and nasty. The entrée was a joke. It was so sweet. I still don’t know what happened to the dried tofu part. I am not going back to this horrible place. I refuse to allow my husband to even try this foolishness. This has got to be the worse lunch experience of my working years(20). Oh wait, I need to go back to the bathroom to release more items from my stomach again.

Didn’t get hot pot just regular food. Small portions and food is below par compare to other Chinese restaurant nearby.

Thought I was walking into Hing Loon, but it is a new place, The Menu Says, «The New Hing Loon, Red Sky» The food was okay, we ordered the Mongolian Beef and Honey Walnut Prawns. There were 9 Prawns on individual Won Ton Cups. The prawns were nice, but too much Mayo and really not easy to eat. We weren’t sure if you were supposed to pick it up with your hands, or Chopsticks. Both ways were awkward. The Mongolian Beef again was okay. Lunch time on a Tuesday and the Place was totally empty. 26 dollars for 2 people(before tip) is a little pricey for a quick lunch in the ID. The server was pleasant and tried to be helpful. I might take a look in a few months and see if they have improved. I hope so.

I wanted to do a Chinese New Year bash for my employees and I thought I would try them out. They worked with my budget to create a great menu. The delivery was right on time which is amazing for rain and travel from Seattle to Bellevue. I will start with the duck. It was moist but a crispy skin with the perfect amount of flavor. It was actually the first dish to be cleaned out. The chicken wings. We got the spicy and orange. Crispy, flavorful and nice and tender inside. With a nice kick at the end. The orange chicken was saucy and amazing. Sooooooooooo good Sausage fried rice. Really good. Wanted more Chicken chow mein also really good. Potato and pepper. Perfectly cooked. Overall my employees loved it. They raved and they want me to order again!!! I think I will and double the duck and chicken. Yummmmmm now to continue eating this bomb food.

Ordered takeout from this place tonight. Really great BBQ pork rice, and I liked my Nutella milk tea. My only downsize is the portions lean on the small side.

I was a huge fan of the old Hing Loon and sorry to see them go. I had to be down in the ID so I thought I would give the new place a try. Definitely not good. First bad sign: I arrived at 11:30 to an empty place. The host and another employee were out front smoking and clowning around. Second bad sign: the new paint colors of black and red may work well in a bar, but not in a neighborhood restaurant. Third bad sign: black glossy tables that aren’t wiped clean. Fourth bad sign: the floor and chairs are the same as the old restaurant. And the fifth bad sign: lots of typos on the menu. I guess the person that created the menu doesn’t have spell check on their computer. Now, the food. I ordered the eggplant in hot garlic sauce, which was neither. There was only a hint of garlic and it wasn’t even close to spicy. The egg plant was slightly over cooked and there was way too much sauce. I also ordered orange sauce beef, which was a nice crispy fried beef in sauce. Not much orange flavor, but at least it was beef and there was sauce. The old Hing Loon is a tough act to follow, but with a little work it can be done. Probably not by this group. If they can improve the food and service they can be successful. If not they’ll be gone by the end of the year.

Bf and I wanted to have canton wonton for dinner. Now we are kinda regretted that we didn’t. Customer service was a spot on, the guys are very attentive and friendly. We ordered a Mongolian beef and a spicy pork ribs pot. The Mongolian beef was ok, I like ho ho’s Mongolian beef better. The pot tho, it was a mixer of potato, corn, lotus root, carrot, celery, pork ribs and more corn. And it’s wayyyyy to salty. It’s like they put a full cup of salt in that pot. I feel sick after eating it. Maybe it isn’t for us. But it’s worth a try.

3.5 The overall experience was alright. Would I come back again? Only if I was extremely hungry and there was nothing else to eat. The food was okay. I was a bit disapointed in 2 of the 3 dishes I ordered. The first dish was the beef with green beans. When I got the food I was looking at it thinking they have mistaken my order. Until my boyfriend had to point out that there was some beef in it, very small specs of beef. Since this dish was under the beef category I was expecting real pieces of beef but they were small like the size of jelly beans. It felt like the beef was the sprinkles to the green beans… I felt ripped off. The second dish was the Seafood fried rice. It said there were other seafood in it but the only thing I saw in it was vegetables and shrimp. i did not see any other«seafood» that they said was inside it. The food was okay, it wasn’t horrible. But it was just decent. The workers were really quick and always refilled our waters. And the food came out quick after we ordered. Overall the experience wasn’t too bad but they should really add more to the dishes to stand out.

A friend and I went to the New Hing Loon for lunch on Sunday. While all the dim sum restaurants were packed with long lines, this place was dead empty. Nonetheless we went in because we wanted to have a quiet place so that we could talk. We ordered Pipa Tofu, Bamboo Shoot & Pork, and Shrimp Fried Rice. I don’t know if I would call it a Szechuan food but they were surprisingly ok, somewhat trendy, and had a very clean taste. If you are looking for typical traditional old school Chinese restaurants, this place may not be it. But I would go there with people who would say Cheese Cake Factory is a good restaurant. I am not saying that in a negative way at all, what I mean is that it is clean, safe, and predictable.

We stopped by for lunch on a week day after searching for some new Szechuan place. I was expecting that this new restaurant would be a good place to try for a change(we know of several Szechuan places that are good, but just want to try some places new). After checking on the website, which wasn’t functional and didn’t give the opening hours, we decided to go anyways based on the listed hours/days on Unilocal. After finding parking spot nearby, when we walked in, the place told us that they were closed that day and that to come tomorrow instead. Hmm… the sign clearly said it’s open. So, sorry, no, there won’t be any chance of us coming in the future when the place open hours are unreliable. We left disappointed but ended up at Honey Court for some dim sum instead.

I was excited to see that Hing Loon reopened at last! But it’s no longer the old Hing Loon that was one of my favorite spots for cozy family dinner, impromptu group dinner, and late-night dining. No more paper menu on the walls, no more mini sesame balls with your bill, no more friendly Chinese ladies guilt tripping you into boxing every little leftover. This new Hing Loon is more modern. Most dishes(other than the fish hot pot) are under $ 10, but the portion is pretty small, so I would suggest ordering a dish per person. We ordered the Mongolian beef, double cooked pork, pipa tofu and yin yang hot pot with some a la carte items. I really like the double cooked pork, it was tasty and thinly sliced, making the edges just a bit crispy. The pipa tofu(I think it’s called pei par tofu in the old Hing Loon) is also pretty good, although calling it tofu might be a little deceiving. It’s tofu and shrimp paste mixed together and deep fried. The consistency is kind of interesting, so I’d say it’s not for everyone(my mom loved it, James thought it was undercooked). The Mongolian beef was not quite bland, but it lacked flavors. James said it grew on him though and by the end of the meal he was a fan. Because the portions are small, we ended up adding a hot pot later on. $ 10.99 gives you a spicy and non-spicy soup base. We ordered beef slices, fish ball and a couple other items to put in the soup. The spicy soup base was surprisingly pretty spicy, and it was good. This is a nice option if you are craving hot pot but don’t want to commit to the all you can eat hot pots. Service was the most attentive and courteous I’ve encountered in Chinatown. It felt a little disjointed, probably because they’re kind of busy and were still trying to figure out their process. They forgot to give us our rice and then when the hot pot came, they forgot to give us spoons. The tea was lukewarm and without us telling them anything, they actually brought us a new tea pot with hotter tea. But then someone else took away that pot after pouring us some tea, and it wasn’t even half empty! *confused look* I’ll probably be back for the hot pot, but I think I’ll be hitting up Jade Garden for a more traditional Chinese dinner.

The service was TERRIBLE. After being a server for so many years I’m so patient when I dine out. But when we sat down we had no napkins and wasn’t given any til maybe 5 – 10 minutes into our meal and had to ask multiple times. We had a party of 4 and they gave us 2 glasses of water, ¾ full and no ice. So I asked for two more and still had to get up out of my seat for the second time to approach the server who was standing there, doing nothing, as well as another server sitting there on their phone. Fantastic. The fish hot pot is a waste of money $ 35 for a fried fish with barely any meat and no flavor, please don’t waste your money. The double cooked pork is ok as well as the hot garlic egg plant but I’ve had better :( This is all just my opinion if you want to try something new I encourage you but this is my experience and I will not be returning sorry.

this review is based on take out food, but i didn’t think it was very good. the spicy beef had hard fried slices of beef that were like potato chips. hard and crunchy, without much flavor. there were big chunks of indigestible peppers in there too. the wings were super hard and dried out, and not much flavor was you got past the skin. the dish that tasted the best was the green beans. plump, with some kick. after tasting this at home, i was missing the old home style of the original hing loon.

Saw this restaurant grand opening while passing by and decided to eat here for dinner. The king mushroom soup was really good! The beef fried rice was decent! :3 I might try the hot pot here next time and see how good it is! The area is really clean and organized.
