Seriously, for real, in this day and age, who needs all property owners to be present to send a sales consultant to price window replacements, particularly when the property owners are spouses? It was surreal to receive a call canceling my appointment because my husband, whose work schedule is insane, could not be there. Also, he has no interest in having his meager downtime taken up with our remodeling decisions and we’ve mutually delegated all decision making in that realm to me. I tried explaining this to no avail. My contractor had recommended Renewal to me as the best, but I’ve let him know that they may be very skilled, are certainly very polite on the phone, and are very likely losing significant business due to this policy.
I see here that other women have had this experience and also felt the implication that the wife could not possibly be the primary household decision maker, so unless husband is there, no point even bidding. Not a good look.

We had such a great experience with renewal by Anderson. This is our second time getting windows with them. This time they removed a door and moved a window over in our dining room and replaced our kitchen window. Matt and Brock were great. They answered all of my questions and kept me updated as the project went on. They were also nice and polite to my kids and put up plastic sheeting so the drywall dust wouldn’t get everywhere! Thanks so much for the beautiful Windows!

It is quite nice when workers are at your house and once they are gone– there is zero foot print because it is left so clean!

Don’t waste your time with this outfit. «Brady» was nice as pie wasting two hours of my evening before a quote of over 50K to get most of my windows replaces, and over 13K for one slider and one window. Got pretty snippy when we said we needed to discuss it. «I’ve been doing this a long time», he said, «That’s code for NO» (among other pleasantries lol). They look like nice windows, but with an attitude like that? … How about «No»!

I would have been happy to do business with this company, but I would have had to have my husband present to get a quote. What kind of business is this?!? Completely unheard of! I felt like they didn’t want to do business with me because I am a female.
I do not recommend this company.

I couldn’t even get a quote from Renewal By Andersen without being treated unprofessionally and like my time didn’t matter (despite that we likely would have had a large order).
First, they insisted that both property owners be present for the quote. One of us travels frequently and doesn’t have a work schedule that makes this easy, something I tried to explain (and all other companies that came out to do quotes were workable with), but they wouldn’t even set up an appointment without me arranging for my husband to be there. So I did — not an easy task for a jet-​setting spouse and a baby with naptimes in the room you’re needing to replace windows in.
When the day of the carefully-​scheduled appointment came, I received a phone message hours before saying that the sales rep was going to be late (coming from another appointment out on the Island) and could I reschedule for tomorrow. First, why did they schedule the appointments so close together that the sales rep couldn’t make it with travel times? Unprofessional. When I called back and said I couldn’t reschedule (that my husband and I had rearranged everything in work, social and our baby’s naps to make that particular appointment time work), they said, ok, that the sales rep would be late. I said ok. Just give me a call so we can plan (thinking in my head we’ll just have the baby miss the nap so that we can show the window).
Missed the appointment all together. Could I reschedule for another time if my husband weren’t present. Nope. They wouldn’t do it. What they would do is explain why their sales agent completely missed our planned appointment (that we missed other things and kept a baby from sleeping for) — because the previous appointment ordered several, several windows. So, END POINT: if you don’t announce ahead of time that you plan to order several, several windows from Renewal By Andersen, prepare to be yanked around and have your time scheduled and wasted. Nevermind that the bill for our two exceptionally large windows would have been in the thousands of dollars, apparently our business (let alone common courtesy) didn’t matter as much as the previous client.
My husband and I discussed it and said to ourselves that after being treated this way at the sales-​pitch time of a quote, it would be hard to trust that the company would be professional and timely or would value our time throughout the process. Business lost.

One of my neighbors recently showed me his bill for new windows. His house is about the same size and had all the same work done. His only cost about 6,000 where as my best bid was 10,000. Something to be aware of. Seems like many of these types of in home services can be over priced a bit so keep looking!

I recently had 9 windows replaced by Renewal by Anderson and it was without question the best experience i have had with any home improvement project I have done. Their level of professionalism in every aspect of the project was significantly higher than what I have grown to expect based on my experience with other projects. David (sales) and Erin (project coordinator) were so easy to work with and kept me well apprised of where we were in the process. On installation day Coltin and Waylin showed up precisely when I was told they would, and were so nice and so efficient. They got all 9 windows installed in one day and my house was actually cleaner when they left than it had been when they got here because they vacuumed under the radiators. They took all the proper precautions for lead based paint (the neighborhood kids thought it was cool because it looked like a crime scene). The windows themselves are fabulous. More expensive than others you can get, but sometimes you get what you pay for. I have already noticed that I don’t have to set my thermostat as high, plus they look fantastic, operate smoothly, and are just all around awesome. The other good thing is that all through the process they gave me accurate estimates of how long it would take so I was never unpleasantly surprised. They delivered flawless windows and a completely hassle-​free experience and were actually done earlier than I expected. As good as it gets, for sure!

We got a second batch of windows replaced (8 windows). I still feel we got oversold by their agent. The job was expensive and I am not sure we needed all the options but they were prompt, changed things fast. One of the windows ended up being cracked so they had to replace it.
Why am I giving them 4 stars this time even though I still think they are expensive? We opted to preserve the style of the 1920s windows and I have to say it was a good choice. The windows actually match the house in a good way!

Just got off the phone with a customer service agent that refused to set up a home consultation because both owners of my home would not be present. My father co-​signed for my home but has never lived here nor is he responsible for paying for it. AND he doesn’t live in this state! The person I talked to sounded like a thoughtless robot reading a script and just kept repeating the same line over and over.
This company is not concerned with customer service and I will NEVER call them again.

Purchased 3 large windows for our home. They were installed yesterday (a cold, rainy and windy day) by Coltin, Waylin and Mark. These guys are pros’ pros. They’re courteous, thoughtful and, most importantly, perfectionists. What could have been a very messy install, the guys laid out plastic sheeting to protect our hardwood floors, covered furniture where necessary and were otherwise mindful of not tracking in mud and leaves. The old windows went out quickly and with little fuss. While the new ones were meticulously installed, reinspected and cleaned. Little flaws in the glass (ones that I wouldn’t have noticed) were identified and reported to the company for replacement. The house felt instantly warmer and we were even able to reset the thermostat for lower settings throughout the day. Thumbs up to Renewal By Anderson and to Coltin, Waylin and Mark. Couldn’t be happier.

I did not purchase anything from them. The person in charge of appointments would not, under any circumstance, schedule an appointment without my spouse present.
Upon trying to explain why this may not be possible, I was talked over on multiple occasions. I ended up hanging up, as I realized I did not care to work with this company.
I’m sure they have lovely products, but having to deal with a company so unwilling to budge on an initial consultation seemed to be more hassle than it was worth.

We replaced three single pane, aluminum framed windows in our bedroom. We are usually very skeptical of sales people. With Andersen, we were very impressed with the product. We saw firsthand how energy inefficient our current windows were. Our installers, Kraig and Klinton, were very efficient, knowledgable, and ran a clean operation. Nice guys, too! Anderson is pricey, but every step of the process was professional and they have a very good product to back it up.

we had renewal by anderson do a sliding glass door for us once and since then marketing is relentless. email, phone, mail and even sales people showing-​up at the front door uninvited.
i get that the window /​door business is full of sleazy marketing but if this is the way you treat your customers to it then they won’t come back.

We were solicited by Renewal by Anderson to have a sales rep come out to do a free estimate for window replacement. Awlful! The sales representative that came out was rude to begin with. He was overtly disappointed to find out we only wanted 3 – 4 windows replaced instead of the entire house. On top of that, very pushy to have us commit to replacing the window on the spot and told us they don’t email estimates and would not give a break down of cost per window. I will NEVER have windows replace or refer this company to anyone! PLEASE do not get your windows replaced with this company.

We had our windows installed today, there was a small mix up about what time the installers were to arrived but it all work out. They arrived before 8:00 and were gone by noon. We have used Andersen in the past and would not hesitate to used them again.
Each person the salesperson (Jeff), the person that came to measure can’t remember his name, Tiffany set up the date to be installed and the guys Nick B, and Gregg the installers… all very nice and all knew the product

I had a positive experience with the salesperson that came to our home. I look for salespeople that know their product well and are honest about whether a particular product will be useful and/​or cost effective. We experienced both in this visit. He was very personable and enjoyable in conversation. We had set up this appointment through the Tacoma Remodeling Expo.
This has been our first experience in buying windows. I knew Andersen would be expensive, and it is. But I believe it’s a good investment. I also appreciate that if we go with Andersen, we will work with this salesperson as our contact through the entire process. Do I wish the product was a little less expensive? Yes, but I’m willing to pay more for a quality product and good customer service, and my home sales visit offered that. Andersen will be on our short list for the purchase.

Inquired about getting replacement window for our family’s condo. Have one window that needs to be replaced– it’s a small condo. First they warned me that it was about $ 1,500, insinuating that they only do high-​end and may be out of my price range (guess I should have pulled up in my BMW to prove that I can afford their windows). Then stated that they have a 3 window minimum so they could not do just one window.
Not sure how this kind of customer service allows these people to remain in business. I know I’ll never spend a dime on them going forward.

The rep came to our home, they require both spouses to be present, annoying. The rep from get go was arrogant, and when it was as though we had to «earn» their business, not the other way around. He went and brought a sample and showed it to us. I shared with him that I wanted a copy of their standard contract, I got a one page small font partial contract put in front of me and then taken away. He asked if I had other bids and I told him that I did. He asked who it was from, and I shared with him who the other competitor was, and immediately he went on a very lengthy «bad mouthing» session of the company and the products that other manufacturers were producing, not very professional behavior. In the end I asked him to give us a bid, he sat behind our dinner table for another half an hour or so and gave us a bid for $ 80K plus for essentially 31 windows of which about nine of them were inserts the others standard windows, nothing exotic. This came to about $ 2.8K per window, totally non-​competitive. The sales person then asked me what I thought, and I shared with him that he was way out on the left field! He kinda lost his composure and started to ask what he could do to «earn» our business [what he should have done at the initiation of the meeting]… I told him that he needed to cut his price way down. He finally left.
My experience was really bad, they wasted two hours plus of my weekend time, no bid was left behind, no sample contract and that was that [they also don’t e-​mail bids like their competition to you, «it is company policy» so he told me??”
In addition, in bad mouthing their competition the sales person said that the competition was just «dealers»… and not the company, that they were the «company». When I read the partial contract that he showed me I realized that the contract was from a «Sound Window»… I asked him who was Sound Window, he stated they were the Washington entity that handled Andersen. I asked was Sound Window owned by Andersen, he said no, they were an LLC owned by some local guys. I then shared with him that they were a dealer then? He still said «no». I shared with him that to me it seemed his company was some sort of exclusive entity dealing with Andersen and that they sold no other products, it sort of looked like a franchise operation. He still insisted that they were not. To me these statements were misleading and not a straight forward honest answer, it is important to know who you are dealing with, which I had to discover on my own. We will not work with this company.

As part of our recent kitchen remodel, we needed to replace our kitchen windows. The existing ones were single-​pane, unattractive and could not be opened.
We called Renewal by Andersen to do the job and are very happy that we did.
The R-​by-​A rep who first came to our house to discuss the job was great! He asked a lot of questions about the «look» we were going for so the windows could be worked into the overall design. He was able to offer us color and hardware options that fully complemented the rest of the kitchen design. He mentioned he might need to contact our contractor (who was doing our cabinets) as one of the windows would be precariously close to one of the cabinets and he wanted to make sure all got installed properly. That he took the time to even think about this kind of detail really put my mind at ease.
[Compare this to another window group we called. Their rep cared only about figuring out how many windows he could sell us. He kept trying to get us to do our whole house even though we kept telling him that, at the moment, we were only interested in the kitchen. He just kept spitting out more numbers about how much more we could save if we did more windows. He offered no options in terms of color/​hardware and was certainly not thinking about how the windows fit into the overall design of the kitchen. No thanks.]
The day of the windows install, the R-​by-​A guys arrived right on time. They were respectful and courteous. By this time, we’d decided the frame on the aforementioned window, so close to the cabinet should be left off until the cabinet was installed (this had not yet happened). I reminded them of this and they were completely cool with this decision. I retreated to the back of the house to let them work. After a time, I went out front to take a peek and see how they were doing. I was surprised to see the installation (sans that one frame) was complete. The windows looked fabulous and they had left the kitchen cleaner than it was when they came in.
Fast-​forward a month. The cabinets are now in. We were under the impression our contractor would be finishing the one window frame. (The R-​by-​A guys had left behind the materials for this.) But, our contractor thought otherwise and told us we would have to pay extra to have him complete this. We called R-​by-​A and they came back and finished the one last window frame at no extra charge. («It is in your contract; you paid for it,» they said.) And, truthfully, I was happier to have R-​by-​A complete the job. After all, they are the experts when it comes to windows.
We are completely satisfied with the quality of the work and the quality of the customer service offered by Renewal by Andersen. We will be replacing our living room windows in the not too distant future and will definitely call Renewal by Andersen again.
