My mother received 24⁄7 care — or lack thereof. Caregivers were assigned to my mother who did not have the experience to deal with her medical needs. We interviewed other companies before we hired RAH and chose them because Tracy claimed they had experience working with hospice care and she said she had personal experience with my mother’s particular issues. The caregivers never seemed to know what was going on and communication between the caregivers didn’t happen so my mother’s care was incredibly poor! I was literally on call for them 24 hours a day as their caregivers would call me asking me what to do. Our hospice team told us we were not receiving good care and the caregivers didn’t know the basics and certainly NOT what my mother required. Then, my mother fell when the care plan written by hospice was not followed. The caregiver was not by my mother’s side as she was ALWAYS supposed to be. Instead of the caregiver calling 911 she called me at work! My mother sustained 3 pelvic fractures that took weeks to heal while experiencing incredible pain. This is a true case of neglect and incompetence. My mother will never recover from the fall and we moved her to a loving and attentive family adult home where her life expectancy is now unknown.

We hired Right at Home to care for my husband, a paraplegic who also suffered a stroke in April. A health care aid was supposed to arrive at 8:00. No one arrived, and I began calling at 8:30. I told them my husband had bed sores and could not stay in bed indefinitely. They seemed oblivious to my concerns. I called and called until finally I was put in touch with a supervisor who eventually arrived at 12:30 with a caregiver. My husband now has two ulcerated sores on his toes from being in bed for so long. The supervisor told me that the agency cannot always find subs when a caregiver does not show up. I thought that’s why I was paying top dollar… to be assured my husband’s care would be covered. This agency is uncaring. I would not use them for anyone I loved.

Right at Home is who I work for. They offer home health care services in the King County. I’ve been working here for more than a year and I find that it is the perfect place to work while I’m in nursing school. One of the important features of working for them is that they are able to change my schedule on a week by week basis due to my ever changing school schedule.(my inflexible school schedule can change with less than a couple of days notice) I have meet many of the health care staff members at Right at Home and found them competent and friendly which I think is important in this business.
