Riverview Park/Playfield

One of the best parks in West Seattle!

Riverview has ball fields, separate toddler/​older children play areas, a trash filled sandbox, and basketball/​tennis courts.
People don’t seem to clean up after themselves at this park. My daughter loves it here but between the cigarette butts, swisher sweet wrappers, dog crap, and a variety of garbage I don’t know if we’ll continue to come here.
It seems like I spend more time cleaning up so she can play safely than actually playing with my daughter. That’s just wrong.
2 stars for the bad apples that litter the park 4 stars for the park itself.
And seriously, they have garbage cans and recycle bins. Try using them.

I love love love this park. I have memories of it as a child, then a teenager, and now I still go there. Lots of playground area for kids, fields, trails, tennis courts, and baseball fields below. Great for all ages!
Oh, and lots of parking!

I love this park. Having grown up near it for the last however many years, I’ve really come to appreciate it even more now that I’ve had a child.
There are now two different play areas– one for 2 – 5 year-​olds and one for 5+ years. There are monkey bars, cool telephone things, two basketball hoops, tennis courts, a sandbox, a bouncy thing, some swings and many ball fields (just um, don’t go to the lower ones, trust me).
It’s nice to have such a large wooded area with trails for teenagers to explore and it smells really fresh here after it first rains.
My only complaint is that there is a bit of a graffiti problem. It’s disheartening to have to see my toddler play on equipment that has things written on it like «I h8 Nate» (not «I h8 N8” — graffiti ‘artists’ aren’t too bright) or «Jackie and Jenny is a hoe!»
I like coming here just prior to sunset, because the same group of families seems to be hanging out. I like the familiarity and knowing that these people «know» my daughter and have gotten to see her grow.
I do love this park :)

This is a very nice park for the kids to play. The play area is nice and fun. the kids enjoyed it and there was a nice little sand box for the kids to play in. The only complaint I had was that there were lots of older kids there (teenagers) playing games and swearing around the younger kids. Also, to make matters worse there was a transient standing in the way of the kids on the play equipment and the police had to be called. Other than that, great park.
