This is a very cute little home and paper goods shop. There’s a large selection of greeting cards — «hello!» ones, along with birthday, thank you, wedding, and holiday ones — and a huge assortment of notebooks and books. There’s a lot of stuff from Rifle Paper Co., but also some smaller printers too. Most of the non-paper items(like candles, coasters, and jewelry) are from PNW-area makers, which I always appreciate. The owner is super helpful, and she’ll wrap up any gift purchases with beautiful ribbons, so be sure to ask! Also, this is a very early tip, but she usually puts Christmas/holiday cards on sale from October-November, so stock up then and get your mailing list ready before the rush of the holiday season hits.

There are very few opportunities to really say, «I love this shop.» Especially when you have so many retail stores to purchase goods and services. Once in a while however, you come across a good one, and it becomes a «go to.» I believe, even after only one visit, this is now my «go to.» Of course, «go to,» for what? This is the quintessential local card and gift shop. They have a nice satisfying selection of wares, in fact it’s a lovable set of wares. What I mean, is that everything feels special, like it was made just for you. From the selection of cards, which range from the Birthday themed, to the Love and romance, and the«blank inside,» every one of them seems to scream, handmade, one of a kind; It’s something that helps you express the emotions that you just can’t express with a smartphone and emoticon. Okay, that was a low bar, but I insist that they will meet any condition set, when it comes to the perfect card. Further, it’s one place that feels welcoming, and very Seattle. Not the yuppified Seattle, but the crafty, small batch, true artist Seattle. Sure, they have items from across the US, and a few fair trade items; but they have many of the local tastes that you would only find in the northwest. Items like the«Hot Cakes» brand chocolate sauce made locally, flavored salts from Oregon, and books from local vendors. It’s a taste of authentic local, small business shopping. There are books on a bench, tastefully(neatly) placed, small gifts on freestanding shelves, and all the trimmings of a place that would make any gift shot blush in envy. It’s not mass produced, and the owner, Margaret seems to have put the right combination together. As someone who loves the classic art of card and gift giving… it’s perfection. Look, in this time and age, it’s easy to head to Bartells, Papersource, or Papyrus and get a card, but I challenge you to come here first, experience the real crafts, and at a surprisingly affordable price. Less expensive than the famous, carbon copied brands. As the other reviewers have mentioned, this is a wonderful shop, worthy of your time.

I had been driving by this little shop and staring at it for the longest time. Finally I got the chance to stop in and check out the goods. Very eclectic and cute indeed! There are a variety of odds and ends sold here. I love sending a good hand made card and they have a whole wall of them, most made locally. Trinkets and stuffings for gifts for individual tastes can all be found. The owner is down to earth and friendly. I had no idea this place has been tucked away between Eastlake and SLU for the longest time. Hope to see this shop grow and lead to others in the area.

Eclectic, Tasteful, Intelligent, Funky and Fun! If you are looking for a special gift for someone you cherish… stop by Rogers and Ryan. The 66 Southbound will drop you off right by the shop, which opens onto Eastlake, in the up and coming Cascade neighborhood. Owner, Margaret, is a savvy, thoughtful, collector of beauty… and this gracious shop is worth the trip. Once inside you will find a thoughtful layout of stationary, books, votives, collectibles and accessories along with framed local art and other delightful stuff… Great energy and a destination gift store for me… reminds me of a wonderful gift shop in a Canadian museum… touched by grace.
