If rate 2.5, but can’t. Anyway… The staff is really nice and the sushi is tasty, however the wait is super long. If you have limited time, I would recommend trying it at another time where you have the time to wait. I’ve waited over half an hour for my order and noticed that people who ordered after me were getting their orders before me. If I hadn’t already paid, I would’ve left since it resulted in me missing a meeting due to the long wait time.

Updated review. Called in ahead this time and my food was much faster. Still not ready by the time I got there, but only took about five minutes. The food is great, fresh, nice portions, and fairly priced. Thanks again!

Always come here for lunch. Reasonable lunch special for a little under 8 $. The lady can be hard to understand on the phone but you have to call your order in or you will end up waiting 20 min for your sushi. I always get the #1 special

It’s in a food court, and without a doubt it’s one of the healthier options. Good quality, on both visits. I’ve had the House Special(Eel), and the Seared Salmon. Seaweed was a little soupier than I’d like.

I normally get the Geisha Roll when I go, sometimes the Hawaiian. Pro’s are that normally the Roll’s are pretty Tasty, and Pretty. The Staff is very friendly. Con’s are… They are not fast… In fact they are quite slow. Which is okay if I didn’t have only half hour for lunch. The prices are on the High Side. Sometimes the Unagi is a little chewy and fishy tasting.(I haven’t noticed that on the Tuna or Salmon.)

The sushi isn’t that great and if you order individual rolls it can be very expensive, considering it is a lunch spot. It took about 20 minutes to get my food, so by the time I got back to my office most of my hour was gone. It is just one guy back there making everything, I was the only person in there and I still had to wait 20 minutes while he made a bunch of call in orders. The sign for the specials is randomly placed over by the drinks and those prices are way better than ordering individually. I made the mistake of ordering the«dynamite roll» which is not a roll at all. I don’t actually know what it was, but it definitely wasn’t healthy. It is impossible to eat and really not worth the hassle. The other roll that I ordered was supposed to be tuna and avocado and all I could taste was the huge amount of avocado they put on top. I’ve never eaten sushi and felt like I needed to go to the gym after, but this place did it. If you are just looking for quick, cheap sushi try Rice N’ Roll a block over on Madison. Otherwise, I would suggest going somewhere else.

I love this little place. It is nothing fancy but the rolls are fresh and delicious! They do party platters for a reasonable price and I highly recommend Rolls and Sushi for anyone who loves good sushi! Mmmmm… the Seattle Special is awesome, but so are all the rolls! Eat here, you won’t be disappointed.

Super fresh and delicious, run by a cute couple. I love that all of my rolls are made fresh. Also I’ll rather patronize a mom-n-pop store than one of those generic chain sushi restaurants that are also overprices for sub-par ingredients. This place is the best. Free tea as well!

Love it. Constantly trying new sushi. Usually get miso and edamame. Great food and service! Healthy and cheap, they have specials, on a whiteboard above the drink cooler.

Best lunchtime sushi ever! I’ve been going here for several years and they have never let me down. Boston special is my favorite, but all the rolls are good.

Crappy, and not even cheap. You’ll do better with a sushi box from the local super market.

Went here today with a friend from work, neither of us had tried this place before. We decided to split 3 rolls and they were all really good, the Red Dragon roll had a good spice to it, the Seared Salmon roll had a great almost smokey flavor from the torch and the house special(avocado, eel, other delicious flavors) had a sauce on it that was really good. I would come here again, and if you are bringing someone along that doesn’t dig on sushi there are lots of other options(mexican, burgers, thai, pizza, teriyaki, pakistani) right there for them and tables in the courtyard area when the weather is nice.

I finally found a restaurant near work that I would want to visit again. I got in at about 1:30 and there were already 2 other people in the store waiting for their food. I had to wait at least 15 minutes before I got my food. However, I really didn’t mind. I don’t know if it was the Christian radio station that they had playing in the background, or the cheerfulness of the cashier when she handed me the food, or the fact that they seem to make each roll to order that got me. Nevertheless, I was very fond of the store. The kitchen was tiny but clean. There were only two people working in the store but they appear to be Japanese(despite having Korean wallpaper, the staff members do speak Japanese with each other). The service was on the slow side but I enjoyed rolls that I got(Daily Special #2 — ½ Boston and ½ CA Roll with miso soup for $ 5.25). For the price, the food quality is really superb. For the bang for the buck, I am giving it 5 stars.

A decent sushi place with reasonable prices. The quality is pretty good, but it’s sometimes best to try to call and order ahead if you’re going during the daytime rush – they make all of your rolls fresh, so you’ll be waiting 10 – 15 minutes if they’re working with a line of customers(there are usually only 2 people working). A good lunch for a reasonable price.

I went to this place this afternoon to get something less grease soaked. Plus I’ve seen it a few times going to other restaurants in the same building and wanted to give it a shot. The restaurant is set in the back of the building, with other restaurants surrounding it. There’s nothing fancy about the place. I would say it’s like having someone’s apartment kitchen in a resturant. The only thing missing was the fan, which is pretty obvious when you walk in, because you can smell the tempura cooking. There is seating available, but most of it is benches against the window. Only one table is present. But there is outdoor seating in the courtyard… however today I didn’t want to come back with wet underwear. I ordered the Hawaiian Roll. It was spicy tuna and cucumbers, rolled in rice, surrounded by seaweed. On top of that they placed a layer of fresh tuna and avacado. It looked terrific, and had I not been so hungry I would have thought to take a picture of it. But my stomach won the battle with my brain. The fish was fresh and did not have any fishy smell whatsoever. You could definitely make out the heat from the spicty tuna in the center of the roll. It tasted good, and the fish practically melted in your mouth. The roll cost $ 7.95, and did not some with anything else. I’ve only recently gotten into sushi, so I couldn’t tell you if this was an amazing roll or not. But it did taste good and it definitely wasn’t the worst. Roll N Sushi doesn’t pretend to do anything other than rolls, sushi, and tempura vegetables. They obviously stick to what they’re good at. Now the big question is whether I’d go there again? And the answer is yes.

Finally tried Rolls n Sushi in the foodcourt, had high expectations, which did not come true. I ordered the Daily special #2 ½ Boston Roll, ½ California roll, after a 20 minute wait in a smokey small space, I now get my sushi and smell like smoked salmon. The special was $ 5.88 including soup. The sushi rolls wer ok at best, I could not even taste the salmon in the boston rolls. I will not be going back

I had my doubts about this place as soon as I saw it. It’s looks like a tacky little sushi shop that belongs in a strip mall, but I was hungry for some sushi and figured that it could appease my craving. First off, there was maybe 8 or 9 other people there, so I figured I’d have a short wait. I ordered the smoked salmon roll,(which when I got it looked nothing like the one in the photo,) and was told there’d be a ten minute wait, a little long to make, given the number of patrons, but that ten minutes turned into 15 then to 20. I gave the lady running the register a glance and she told me the dude was making my roll now. Five minutes later I had my food. I sat down and opened the box to find eight sloppily put together rolls, most of them packed pretty loosely. One disintigrated in the soy sauce when my girlfriend tried to get a bite. It was a roll of unfresh salmon, nasty nori, and tasteless roe, and to top it off I found three large bones sticking out of a few rolls, and incredibly obviously I might add. For a ‘quick’ bite, as sushi often is, it could kill someone. It was the worst sushi I’ve ever had, and that includes the time a buddy paid me 3 bucks to take a bite out of a dead fish we found on a camping trip. When I told the lady at the register about the bones, she simply said ‘bones?.’ I said ‘YES!’ and she just looked down and kept on doing what she was doing. I may have bothered to be compensated for my meal, but I feared that they wouldn’t give me a refund and try to offer me more of the putrid stuff. Overall a big BOO to the place. Smell ya later Rolls n Sushi!

(Review error: this is for 9⁄2008) I liked who this one guy who reviewed this eariler put it: ‘… trying to be the best at what it wants to be.‘ Cheap, fast, tasty sushi spot that’s great for lunch and doesn’t look beautiful and modern(what? was that what you were expecting? gotta be kidding me…), but it also isn’t filthy, stinky, ragged, etc. For what it is, and what they’re trying to be, it is rather pretty nice and clean and comfortable. Dude, they even have a cool colonial-era scale model ship! And I love models!

I found this quaint establishment a few years ago when traveling down 3rd ave for lunch. I was skeptical at first(which is not completely uncharacteristic of me when it comes to sushi) but decided to give it a try. Ever since that first day I have been coming back fairly often to enjoy some great 4 star rolls. They mainly have rolls but can make nigiri sushi if you like. My favorite is the Catepillar roll… filled with shrimp and eel topped with a beautiful shingle of avocado across the entire top. The total comes out to 6 dollars and some change. Worth every penny and completely reasonable for a lunch in downtown Seattle. The wait can be long sometimes but it is worth it. I would rather wait a few minutes for freshly made sushi than to pick up a pack of the premade stuff and cross my fingers hoping I don’t have stomach issues later.

Besides that West Seattle bank robbery shoot out a few weeks ago, the next most exciting event that happens when working in the downtown financial district is your lunch break. The Marion St food court(3rd Ave & Marion) has a lot of options, most of them barely average because they can see your desperate, panicky need to escape the office, walk somewhere, and shove food into your face in the span of 60 minutes. That said, Rolls n Sushi is well above average at Marion Court. Menu is simple and has a decent variety of rolls for a lunch time sushi spot. Sushi is rolled as it is ordered, fish and vegetables are always fresh and so is the cashier(OHSNAP!) — she’s a task master to the older Korean couple who own the place and she gets your order out and your payment run through efficiently. Would call your order in ahead of time if you want to be in and out. They get pretty busy from 12−1pm since they do roll everything as it is ordered and it can get backed up(thus squandering your 60 min of yard time). I gave this place 4 stars because I wish I could steal the only star from the similarly named Rice’n’Roll. They are located a block over, serving disgusting, gummy riced dreck for the same amount of money.
