Fantastic service. Fantastic advice on wine. Steaks cooked to perfection. What more do you want?

I am a chicken fanatic. Its my favorite meat, I know, I’m pretty boring but whatevs. I got the stuffed chicken and it was amazing. The waiter was a little rude at first but by the end of the night he picked up his attitude. Love the ambiance. So glad we had dinner here

My friends and I were here on Sunday night before heading over to the Paramount theater for an event. We sat in the bar section as we just wanted a couple of drinks before the show. Our waitress approached our table with a bit of an attitude. After she found out we were there, in the bar section of the restaurant, for just drinks, her attitude got worse. When our friends arrived they too were amazed at how cold she was. This is unacceptable. We were all there to have a nice evening out and we were greeted by someone with a very bad attitude. We tried to be extra nice to her get her out of her bad state of mind but it didn’t seem to work. Plus, the drinks were extremely weak! We won’t be going back anytime soon, atleast in the bar area.

Shared the Porterhouse for 2,(about $ 115 I believe) and it was pretty bland. Was definitely tender and cooked pretty good, but just not much flavor. And does not come w any side dishes either, those are extra of course. Bartender was cool & friendly. I’d go back but definitely think Daniels is doing something better to add more flavor to their food.

After eating at this location twice now, I feel like I can give a better review than if I were to do it after the first time I ate here. The only difference is, last time I may have given 1 star and now this time they get 2. I read someone else calling them the«McDonalds of Steakhouses» and it’s funny because I was saying earlier, «I feel like they’re the Walmart of steakhouses in comparison to the other steakhouses around.» Walmart, some where that you hate going, but you go anyways because they have what you need, it’s cheap, and you don’t have to dress up. Unfortunately, I feel the same way about Ruth’s Chris. It wasn’t that great the first time but it was nearby so we went again. I feel it’s a bit more casual than if I went back to the Metropolitan or Capital Grille, so my jeans and Toms didn’t have me standing out too much and it is also cheaper than the other steakhouses around. See where my comparison came from? Both times, I ordered a filet which was supposed to be cooked medium. Both times, I was given a super well-done filet. This second time, I finally said something. They were really nice about it and brought me a new piece of meat. However, only one side seemed to be cooked to my liking. After I began cutting into the rest, it seemed really dry and overly cooked. Not sure how they prepare the meats here, but it’s not ideal for someone who likes their meat juicy and with some pink. Both times, we had really great servers. No complaints on the service at all. However, their food is just not something I would want to come back for or tell other about(in a positive way).

Before I get into why the review tumbled from a 4 star to a 1 star let me share what was done right: 1. Food was excellent from start to finish. 2. Service was excellent from start to the meal finishing. 3. Lower level was excessively warm, this was mentioned by several patrons and staff(asked to adjust AC several times but told finally the Hotel has say over that). 4. Ambiance was great, full of fun energy throughout(Was Xmas Night). Here is where everything took a complete and utter nosedive; as we were approaching downtown my Wife called Ruth Chris to inquire where their parking lot was. She was told(speakerphone) «use the Hyatt hotel, then get it validated by us before you leave or its $ 8.» She thanked her, then hung up. We then called back because we could not initially find the entrance, then again confirmed the previous validation concern. Two times we were told something, each time same information and each time a DIFFERENT employee. As we were leaving the restaurant my Wife handed the ticket to the check in desk to get it validated and was quickly told«we don’t do that, we don’t validate self-parking». I stepped up and said that isn’t acceptable, we were clearly told the opposite, please get a Manager. An extremely overweight woman with glasses came over and brought with her a very aggressive tone(borderline condescending). My wife began to repeat what I had earlier said and was quickly interrupted by this Manager(Kelly). I again stepped in and said to let my wife finish before you being a reply. She clearly was bothered by my interjection and reluctantly let my Wife finish her sentence. She immediately stated it was not her fault but the hotels fault. I stated that not one but 2 employees that have access to these(pointed to the desk) phones that clearly need further training. She said«Sir, clearly I can’t make you happy». I said you haven’t even tried, you are making excuses and not taking responsibility for what your staff said. She then started talking about how its«only $ 8» and I said we had plenty of money in our bank, it was the principle. I asked for her name and she nearly shouted«I’m Kelly, the Manager, here is my card, call Corporate if you want.» I found this woman to be highly unprofessional, highly untrained and highly sensitive. She clearly needs clear instruction on Conflict 101 and how not to antagonize a customer. She managed to make things much worse and appeared to do it willingly. I informed her I needed her name for a Unilocal review not to call Corporate. I said I wanted to share my experience with Unilocalers. To this she had no reply. My Wife and I typically eat at Ruth Chris Bellevue 3 – 4 times a month, this was our first time. I will not let the poor management/leadership of this location affect my overall opinion. Should we return I’ll change my review if I am contacted and this made right.

Our family made a 3:45 reservation for a Christmas dinner at this location. Our table was ready when we arrived and the service was prompt and courteous. The sommelier arrived when requested and made a very good recommendation for a Washington red blend wine. It should be noted he recommended one of the less expensive red blend which turned out to be excellent. He gets five stars for his attentiveness. Needless to say the steaks were excellent as were the hors d’oeuvres. We’ve been going here for the past 10 years for Christmas and even though it was extremely crowded we were served extremely well. My only issue with this restaurant is the noise level. It was very challenging to carry on a conversation with my family at a table for four.

Happy Hour review. Standard happy hour cocktail of a Manhattan was really well done. Well balanced, cold, not overly sweet and was poured from the shaker at the table. Also had a few craft beers on tap that were nice. HH food was very tasty. The seared Ahi was very well executed and came with a wasabi sesame sauce and asian salad. The prime rib sliders were tender, juicy, and served on pillowy rolls with a creamy horseradish sauce on the side. Both were well done, but weren’t outstanding in any way.

Lunch today. Four top. The place was empty at 12:30. We were the only occupied table until around 1:00 when a couple sat in the bar. The mixed grill was recommended. It was totally meh. The chicken was supposed to be stuffed with cheese etc. it really wasn’t. There was a crab cake — it was about two tablespoons and it tasted a lot like cat food. Seriously. The beef was just okay. The plate, as you may have heard, comes out at 500 degrees. With a four ounce steak. That they covered in butter. Grease spots all over the front of my shirt. Not too happy about that. The entrée was 27.00 but my shirt was 127.00. Sad afternoon. Also, in case anyone from this place is reading this — the waiter was okay but he was wearing so much cologne I could taste it long after he was gone from the table. That is a rookie move, and not a hallmark of fine dining. I won’t be back.

My old fashioned from the bar was watered down with soda machine ice. Just poor quality. 11 dollars should give an establishment plenty of room to make a great cocktail. Apple walnut blue cheese salad was horrible. The apples were mealy, not crisp at all. Can’t imagine how old they were. I could taste the acidic qualities of the preservative they used on the apples. Just terrible. The steak was delicious and of decent quality. I loved the browned butter that came with it. The sides were standard, definitely not upscale steakhouse quality. Overall I was let down. Ruth’s Chris reputation set my expectations high and I was extremely disappointed. I will probably not come to any Ruth’s Chris again unless I get excellent recommendations from local customers. My meal was 87 dollars, close to the most I’ve ever spent and it was horrible. I tipped my waitress generously because I felt bad about telling her how awful the cocktails and salad were. I didn’t want her to think I would let the quality of the food dictate my tip!

I hate to give only three stars because I really do enjoy this place… Well I’ve actually never eaten at this location but I have other locations and it’s usually a 5 star experience. The problem here is I had made reservations and we were seating about 15 – 20 minutes later than our reservation time. We had a waiter who kept disappearing so we ended up having to grab the closest waitress whenever we needed something. He popped up once in a greet while just to «check on us» and only once said he was sorry for disappearing. Our steaks were good but the fries my friend ordered and my asparagus were cold when served. The cheese cake(made in house) was not that good so if your thinking about trying it DONT. The wine was probably the best part of the meal because it came out quick and… I love wine :)

Ok we walked in and at first was just a little confused as we have never been here before. So the bar is up front and the host stand is down the stairs a little ways. Had to wait a minute as both hosts were on the phone which if you take reservations at these prices I would think you could afford to hire someone just for that? Ok we were greeted by a gentleman which sat us I think at a nice table. Anyways a young lady stopped by which she was super friendly as she filled our water glasses. she was also very knowledgeable and just very very sweet thank you. Our server came by and introduced himself to us as we asked a lot of questions and he did take the time to explain the different menu items and helped us make some good selections. Ok here it is the food to me was just a little pricey, but don’t get me wrong it was dam delicious I am not gonna lie. We were treated with respect even as we tend to just dress as regular people as we do not really dress up at all. Meaning we do not wear suits or nice expensive clothes. The staff from the start to the end were great and took very good care of us by giving excellent customer serviceThank you again to the great staff especially everyone behind the scenes like the cooks to the dishwashers to the bussers. We will definitely come back and try other menu items as everything is fresh and homemade yum… A must try if you are ever in the downtown area.

Thank you Mario for the fantastic service for a group of 9 on Monday October 26th. Mario was knowledgeable about the menu, upbeat and had a great personality throughout the entire dining experience. The food quality was excellent, atmosphere were modern and had a luxury touch to it and the entire staff worked well together and provided great service. For around $ 50 a person you can have a full course meal– all made with great care. Thanks Mario for leading a great experience.

This is the kind of place where rich people go to be seen and get fat(er). Nothing wrong with that per se but overall I found this place was completely devoid of character. It felt like the Walmart of high end steak houses. I stopped here on a recent business trip to find the perfect steak. Don’t get me wrong, the steak itself was fantastic-as it should be at that price point. In fact, to satisfy my curiosity I tried cutting the steak with my fork and was for the most part successful. My first disappointment was the décor. This place is set up like a big box with tables every few feet. It’s boring and bland. The next disappointment was the Caesar salad. If you’ve ever purchased a Caesar salad at Costco, you’ve had better. This one was drenched in dressing to the point where the lettuce seemed wilted. Finally, although the quality of meat was fantastic, I’m not sure what the allure is with serving the steak on a plate heated up to 500 degrees. The practical reality of this serving method is hot grease splattering up like your cooking bacon. And for love of God… don’t touch the plate. Frankly, with all of the excellent restaurants available in Seattle you can do a lot better… especially at this price point.

This was just another Ruth Chris. Meaning, delicious food, good drinks, great service, and wonderful ambiance. The great thing about this chain is that it’s elegant and professional, but I don’t feel like I have to be in a dress with heels in order to fit in. We stepped in when in Seattle for happy hour and ordered iced teas, seared ahi, BBQ shrimp, and prime rib sliders. We were going to meet someone later for something pretty serious so we declined any alcoholic drinks and were never pressured to order them, unlike some places during HH. The ahi and the sliders were delicious, but the shrimp were just out of the world! Super buttery and flavorful, and perfectly spicy, the only issue was that the dish didn’t come with a hundred shrimp. Since then, we’ve taken friends and family to eat the same dish and everyone loves it.

Came here for Happy Hour with a girlfriend. First of all, this location is inside the Hyatt’s hotel in downtown Seattle. There were no free parking and we went into the Hyatt’s parking garage hoping that they would validate. Nope, they could only validate you if you pulled up your car in the valet section… what? There was no signs what’s so ever about this. We ended up having to pay 8 dollars for parking. The inside of the restaurant is quite dark. It is not a huge restaurant, with half of it being next to the bar and half of it main dining. You can see the wide open kitchen in the main dining area. They have a very small HH menu, with very limited small dishes. We ordered an Apple Martini, Lemon Drop, and a Fried Calamaris. The Calamaris were amazing! It was probably the best Calamaris I have had! The drinks were very strong which was great!

Came here for pre-funk concert. Met up with my buddies for cocktails and appetizers. Was not disappointed. Martinis were great and the calamari, Ahi, sliders, and crispy lobster were delicious. My only disappointment was not coming back after the show for a steak…

Wow. We’ve been waiting for years for the right opportunity to experience Ruth’s Chris and all we can say is it exceeded all expectations!!! Amazing service to our table at the reserved time(reservation via Unilocal on iPhone was flawless) and also included a special request for a view for our 29th anniversary dinner. Although there is no revolving tower view of the Puget Sound ala Space Needle, our table was expertly prepared including a nice garnish of foil confetti to mark the occasion… NICETOUCH R. C!!! We were lucky enough to get what I can only assume to be their TOP waiter… Kevin.(a real«McCoy»)… And he expertly tended our every need as if he could read our mind… A true sign of a professional in every way. My wife and I both ordered the RC house special where the total meal price included the soup or salad, main course and a dessert. My wife ordered the Ceasar Salad that was perfect with the fresh grated Parmesan and I took a chance on the Chicken and Andouille Sausage Gumbo… Believe me, we BOTH could very easily made a complete meal with what we had, especially with the fresh hot bread and butter., the gumbo was out of this world… Truly amazing!!! For the choices of main entrée there were several combinations available including petite filet w/lobster tail, and various sizes of Ribeyes(12 or 16oz) which is what my wife and I respectively ordered. Medium. Well all I can say is that they both were the absolute finest and most perfectly prepared pieces of aged beef we have both experienced in our lives… Without exception… And I pride myself in expert Ribeye prep and finish on my own grill at home., the famed butter finish, which I have never tried at home made me a believer!!! We both had to quit with nary 2 – 3 bites left of the delectable morsels of heaven… At which time Kevin surprised us with a complementary toast of champaign followed by an over the top dessert presentation of strawberry shortcake, whipped cream, dark chocolate truffle fudge bites with vanilla bean ice-cream… Did I mention the«Happy 29th Anniversary» expertly scrolled onto the plate!!! Over the top Kevin!!!(And the rest of the staff). Thank you for making this a most memorable evening… SALUTE

This Ruth Chris is a bit different from others I’ve been because it anchors the Hyatt Grand, which has no other restaurant, though there is a large Starbucks right off the lobby. No Ruth Chris that I know of opens for breakfast at 7AM. And the RC in Santa Barbara, which went under, certainly didn’t have a late night happy hour because in SB most decent food places stop serving by 10. Harry’s Bar and Chuck’s of Hawaii are about the only places you can get a decent meal«late»(which SB defines as 10PM on weeknights and 11PM on weekends). Service was great everywhere we went in Seattle, but nowhere better than here. I must have had three breakfasts and two happy hours during my boyfriend’s American Planners Association national conference. I never ate dinner there so I can’t say whether as a steakhouse it deserves 5 stars. But the food is very good. I love tablecloths and this Ruth Chris is truly elegant with an elevated seating area which furnishes a lovely view of the bar. There is also a downstairs near the large, plush bathrooms. It’s a nice place to set up with your laptop between conference sessions. Seattle restaurants do something most LA or SB places don’t: they offer cheap a la carte sides(two poached eggs for 3 of 4 is unheard of in So Cal). The only thing they can’t manage is toast: the bread is horrible and it bends. They’re happy to redo but when you start with bad bread, you get bad toast, no matter what butter or jam you use. The happy hour home runs: 1. Seared ahi: A lot of high quality, perfectly prepared tuna with a nice pickled cucumber/ginger side and terrific sauce. At 7, this dish stunned both me and my boyfriend, whose favorite fish is ahi. 2. Caesar salad: Excellent and large, though a bit heavy on dressing. If you like dressing, order as is. If you’re watching calories, definitely order on the side and dress the salad yourself. 3. Prime rib sliders: the meat is excellent, but again, the bread not so great. They really need to upgrade the bread for everything at Ruth Chris, the chain’s only weak point Booze is cheap at happy hour! And the drinks are enormous. My Manhattan was like a double plus and quite good even with their house bourbon. I have one and only one major complaint, and according to the bartender I am about the hundredth person to register it in the time he’s been working: the menu lists the calories of all non-happy hour or well cocktails. NOONEWANTSTOKNOW that his or her Sazerac is 410 calories. They truly should reprint the booze menu. I drink Sazeracs only in New York and now every time I have one, I will be consumed with guilt. File this under the category of TMI, or «shit no one needs to know.»

Of the Ruth’s I’ve been to, the Seattle one wins in the design category. The place is airy and well lit, not a darkened wood paneled Old Boy meat locker. Very pleasant. Have been twice now, getting the cowboy ribeye on the first visit. Perfectly prepared medium rare, délicious. Friday night I chose another prix fixe: small filet with lobster tail, starter, side, dessert. At around $ 50, this represents the best value by far. Had a chicken and tortellini soup which was good, although would really benefit from losing the chicken. Think tortellini en brodo, Ruth’s, make it simpler. Side of creamed spinach was blander than I remember at other visits to other locations. It was fine, just rather plain. It’s creamed spinach, after all. Other sides at the table were mashed potatoes(chunky), and a delicious corn preparation with red pepper and a hot pepper mince. Get it. The filet, however, just wasn’t special at all, and medium rare was easily medium. Lobster tail was small but delicious, probably about 3 ounces. The searing hot plate didn’t help the doneness on the small steak. It continued to cook. The prix fixe also offers other choices, including ribeye. I would go in that direction. Filet mignon is just a boring cut without enough fat. I should know better. Great service, nice space, good Ruth’s overall.

Went here on a whim after Silent Movie Monday at the Paramount and glad we did. Prime Hour is awesome, especially the late night one which is perfect for dropping in after a show The have great prime rib sliders $ 5. It was super quiet when we stepped in but got a little livelier as the night went on. I will definitely be back for more tasty food.
