I love this place, but the last two times I have been there it has not been open with no sign on the door. Yummy: Panang Curry with a side of crab delight. This is my go to dish each time I come. The server knows my substitutions(broccoli instead of peppers) and the chef makes it perfectly each time.

I live nearby and really liked this restaurant, but it appears to be closed now just as of last week. What a shame that restaurants are not doing well at this great waterfront location.

One of my favorite Thai places in Seattle. Great location in Leschi, nice and relaxing inside and super nice & friendly and most importantly, accommodating staff! I like my Thai iced-teas with coconut milk and they were more than willing to do this for me. The food is delicious and wonderful happy hour drinks as well! Parking is either on the street or the harbor parking lot. Enjoy!

I love Sabai so much! They are so welcoming– with great, excellent service. Their food is delicious, and they have am excellent happy hour. Everything from the Chicken skewers, wings, cream cheese wontons are great appetizers. Their flirting Rama(spinach, chicken, peanut butter sauce) is to die for. Along with their pad Thai, green & yellow curry, and orange chicken. Overall a great place!

Sandra and I had a late lunch/early dinner here a week or two ago. We had read some glowing reviews about the food, but were disappointed. The tofu was heavily fried and seemed to be old and tough. Noodles weren’t tasty either. There was no one in the restaurant, and ordinarily that would have warned us off, but we’ve been desperately seeking a thai restaurant in Seattle, so we sat down and ordered what we hoped would be tasty. I suppose we may have just ordered poorly, but I don’t think it likely. We’ll keep looking…

Sabai is a very good Asian restaurant on the water in Leschi. I would say the fresh veggies and drinks make this good enough to be a destination restaurant and worth going out of one’s way for. –Very good vegetarian options. –Outdoor seating on the front patio is lovely. –Easy parking. –Nice and QUIET.

This place was great, and let me tell ya, I’ve been around. The happy hour menu is A-MA-ZING, really big menu, delicious cocktails for 5 bucks(tell me where else you can find a manhattan for 5 bucks), food came out extremely fast, server was very attentive and friendly, and our food was great. We had the fried prawns, which were to die for, red curry, and wide rice noodle dish(pad kae moa?) and they were all large in portion, delicious, and six bucks! will definitely be going back here with some friends many more time !

I feel like this is my secret neighborhood Thai and Chinese restaurant that no one else knows about! What’s great about this restaurant is — not only is it by the water and not necessarily in an area that is known for restaurants — but they offer $ 5 dinner entrees for people like me who still want a hearty meal but in a smaller portion. $ 5 — what a deal! It also means that you can order other $ 5 entrees and have more than just one dish if you’re tossed between two dishes you want. It’s also great for children who generally can’t finish an adult-size entrée(although… may not be the place for«rowdy» children because of its small size and has an intimate atmosphere). The service is always friendly, and dinner ends with a free dessert. The ambiance is warm and simple with a touch of class. Happy hour prices go until 7PM. The dining room itself is a little smaller than other restaurants, but the two times we’ve gone(Friday & Saturday nights) it hasn’t been a problem getting immediately seated. I was surprised more people weren’t there because the food was really good, it’s reasonably priced, and it’s a very pleasant, intimate atmosphere. This restaurant is becoming our go-to place for the nights we don’t want to cook and also don’t want to spend too much money. We’ll definitely be back soon!

I spent some time in Thailand, so no I am not Thai nor am I Asian however this is the closest to authentic Thai food that I have found here in Seattle or in the PNW… other than one restaurant in Portland. I love this place and the staff are sweet as pie. If you have had a bad experience with food or staff than I pray that it was a one off thing and you give them another go or maybe you just have other expectations for your Thai food. But to me, this is the most wholesome and authentic Thai I have had in the PNW and I frequent this place just to relive my time in Thailand. Portion sizes are amazing. My only complaint… it is never spicy enough. If you ask for a 5 it will taste like a 2… even if you beg for as spicy as possible, it’s not going to be spicy. You will have to doctor it at home if you get it ‘take-away’. :(

I’ve been crazy about Thai salads lately, so I recently stopped by Sabai and got an order of their Crying Tiger Salad(to-go). The employee was really nice, and gave me some water to drink while I waited. The salad is a little red onion heavy, but pretty good. I love that they use baby tomatoes! I don’t know if I’ll go back or not, but my first experience was quite good. :) Nice bonus: 10% discount if you get take-out!(Good through 12/31, I think.)

Maybe a little generous, considering the service, but here goes: A nice night drive down to the lake and came here. It was about 9p when I entered and the gentleman there who noticed me looked confused… as in «Why are you here?”-confused… He had no positive character. At. All. An awkward, «May I help you?»… And it was empty, but I just wanted to try their food. So, after both a «1, please» AND a «To dine in???»(o_O), he led me to the first table. CLEARLY, he seemed disturbed I was there. Maybe I was there too close to closing? Still, 30 minutes away — regardless, last I checked, I am a(potential) customer… No, «We’re closing soon, would you like take-out?» or something. I get the Fried Calamari and the small Pad Thai with tofu. The calamari was actually really tasty — not too heavy on the breading, pleasantly chewy and looked nice, if only a rather shallow sauce dish accompanying it. The Pad Thai was good for a small. The open space in the center makes it feel too cavernous. It’s an otherwise nice place. My first impression just left me a sour taste and he also walked back-and-forth between ordering and eating. Just weird.

A real gem along Lake Washington. Easy parking, cozy atmosphere, truly excellent Thai food(chef is a former Monsoon chef).

I organized a dinner party for 15 one Sunday evening and was a bit nervous since I had never been to this restaurant before. I am happy to say, Sabai met all my high expectations. Chris, the owner, and his restaurant are customer service focused and servenspectacular Thai food. Chris was very excited and honored to host our dinner party and was extremely hospitable. Everything that night was amazing! Thank you Sabai!

I have had take out from there twice now. The red curry is very good. Most places can make a decent curry. I am more particular about my pad thai. I tried their sobral pad thai. It has more vegetables and meat than regular pad thai. I must say it is top shelf. It cost 13 versus the regular pad thai which is 10, but well worth the extra 3 bucks. They give a 10 percent discount for local pick. I walked by today. They were closed until 4 on sunday. They had a sign advertising happy hour with $ 4 and $ 5 items. I am eager to try them for happy hour. Their prices are just a smidge high. The prices of most entres range from 10 to 13. A few are 15, but most are 11.

I eat lunch at Sabai, formerly Ruby Asian, quite often, and am very impressed with the remodel and the food. The space is relaxing, the service is fast and friendly, and the quality of food has jumped several levels. It used to be fairly average food, with no real distinction. A lovely alternative, among the few options in Leschi. Please go try them out! Love the Panang, the buffalo wings, and crying tiger salad.

Although a bit pricey, I thought the food at Sabai was pretty delicious, and the service was friendly and attentive. We ordered grilled eggplant(because I just cannot get enough of eggplants) with green beans and pad kee mao with tofu. Both eggplants and green beans had nice char marks. I was really hoping for fresh tofu, but the deep-fried tofu in the noodle dish wasn’t too bad either. I just love fat rice noodles… There were 3 different types of condiments(2 of which were to make your dish even spicier) in nice containers on each table. If you are not satisfied with your 5-star-spiciness, you can go to town with some chili paste/red chili pepper. The friendly owner(I think he was) is eager to invite new customers and repeaters. If you happen to be in the area and hungry, you should give this place a go!

We first got take-away from Sabai in January, and have taken some home every couple of weeks ever since. Delicious food. We’ve had the Green Curry, Masaman Curry, Sabai Fried Rice, Phad Thai, crispy chicken. All were excellent and spicy. The curries were especially good, creamy and rich. We were bummed to see Ruby closed, as that was our go-to Thai take-out place, but we are very happy to have Sabai!

Stopped by this new place at Leschi area by S. Lake Washington next to Daniel’s Broiler. Very nicely decorated, there is a small cozy bar by the entrance. Contempory design with some lake view. Place is clean, spacious with not too many tables. I had a dish of Prawn with tamarind sauce which can be improved by adjusting the degree of sweetness. I ordered only two stars. The other one ordered Phad Thai with chicken. Looks decent. Service is good. Overall: Ambience: 5 Food: 3.5 Service: 4 Overall : — 4 I like their rice paper design under the glass top at the table which has a very good effect, also the place setting looks good. Will stop by next time to try other dishes and recommend to friends who live in the neighborhood. They do have happy hours and plenty of Two hours parking next lot in the public area which is a plus.

Just had our first take-out meal from the new Sabai Restaurant in the Leschi neighborhood. Very nice décor and atmosphere. Great little full bar in front(seats about 6). The food was ready when we got there, but we lingered at the bar where the owner made us one of his own inventions — a gingery lemony chilled shot that was excellent! At home the Thai crispy chicken was perfect — crisp and spicy. The Sabai rice was excellent with shrimp, egg and veggies — great flavor. The Pad Thai was very good — much better than Ruby Asian’s — less sweet with fresh sprouts and lime. The crispy prawn rolls were good(especially the lime chili sauce) but the breading was a bit bland. Overall — the food was great and the hospitality was, too. We will definitely be back!

Sabai is in the old Ruby Asian space. The new décor is uncrowded, almost austere, but pleasant. The service is friendly and mostly efficient. The food is bad. I had a curry that was a sludgy, tasteless glop. The coconut prawn soup was bizarrely thick as well. Much more like prawns with gravy than soup. If they keep this up we will be seeing new tenants soon
